On the back of last weekend's articles making reference to Robert Warnock and the "inexperienced Danny Frawley" playing in the current Melbourne side, I was listening to SEN 1116 today to hear an advertisement for the 'Play For Melbourne' corporate event featuring an opportunity to be coached by Melbourne legends including Robbie FOWLER. Horrified.

Very much doubt I'd ever hear advertisements referring to Carlton legend Stephen Kernigan, or ex-Collingwood captain Nathan Barkley.

I really look forward to several players on our current list becoming truly GREAT in the years ahead - so much so that nobody could ever get their name wrong.

P.S. I was only seven years old when I watched Robbie lead the Demons all the way to the 1987 Preliminary Final, but a man who played with such skill and poise deserves to be remembered in the highest regard. He was wonderful!

Were they were not confused with Robbie Fowler the ex liverpool soccer player who will play for perth in A league ?

I can't wait until Tim Skally gets a rising star nomination.

I had the same thought, Satan... but then asked myself how much would a washed-up English footballer know about "experiencing the inner life of an AFL player"...?

or Laurie Fowler ... one of our best and toughest defenders ever? Three times Bluey winner and Big V representative.

Brent Grain will win the best and fairest this year

I also noted in that HUN article by Rod Nicholson there was reference to Aaron Davies.

Okay Frawley hasn't been around long but come on.

What chance that Rohan Bailey will be listed as our couch at some point?

Or even our chair.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
