Get the feeling Brisbane will struggle with consistency and might miss the 8. Hawks in Lions out

Ignoring all the other changes to their list, and the expected improvement from their 2009 debutants, the only change here is that they've lost Bradshaw and received Fevola. That's an improvement, for mine. So adding back all those other things, they should make the 8 easy.

    Their forward line has struggled with Brown and Bradshaw and they've kicked like 150 odd goals between them. That's massive.

    They've struggled to find other goal kickers who could kick their 2's and 3's and i'm not sure they've solved that.

    They've cut 6, traded 2, retired 1 and Bradshaw going, that makes 10. That's nearly a quarter of the list. This isn't fantasy football. You can't build team chemistry and combinations over night.

    If the market gives good odds for Lions missing the 8, I'll take it.

    Voss is brave but i think his ego has got the better of him.

    Of the players they've lost (Bradshaw hasn't gone yet) name one who is in their starting 22. McDonald is one. Dalziell is possibly another. The rest were list-cloggers or developing prospects who weren't getting a game.

    They haven't lost any of their core talent, and Fevola more than replaces Bradshaw. Plus they get handy inclusions in Buchanan and Raines (handy is used very loosely there) and players like Rich and Polkinghorne get a pre-season.

    Agree. If he goes PSD, Sydney will take him. That was in the article in the paper today.

    They've also lost two players for the future when they traded Henderson and 1st rounder for Fevola.

    IMO the Lions are really off the pace with the Saints and Cats. Hawks, Bullies and Crows are better too.

    The players the Lions traded for won't get them closer. They've also got to integrate them into the system which will be hard cause there is so many of them.

    They've made their play and it's a strong one but I'm not a believer.

    Would it be the silliest thing for us to make a play for Bradshaw, if Ball resigns with Stkilda?

    We have absolutely no reason to come near the bottom of the ladder anymore. Coming 3rd last next year earns you pick 10 only!

    We could use Bradshaw to teach and protect Watts and Jurrah. Provide a proper target up forward to help our developing midfield.

    Then, in 2 years time, Watts and Jurrah will become viable targets anyways.

    fully agree, but most of the so called experts would say hes out of our timeframe, wouldnt it be nice to go the footy nxt year and see him kick 50 to 60 goals.

    no it makes sense however it wont happen as we delisted Robbo. How disrespectful would it be towards Robbo if we picked up Bradshaw

    theres a difference between bradshaw and robbo, read the main paper in tasmania, robbo has been slagging the demons off in that paper, Bradshaws twice the player robbo is, and by the way, robbo hits the ground everytime he goes for the ball.

    PSD pick 1?

    I would prefer Buckley on the list to Bradshaw.

    He will get to Carlton one way or another because of the following:

    *The PSD is usually like a Clayton's Free Agency, if Bradshaw was to nominate for the draft and nominate Carlton as his preferred destination you'd think he'd be a pretty good chance to be passed by other clubs.

    *If Bradshaw leaves Brisbane and declares he wants to go to Carlton, then nobody is going to put a 30 year old full forward on their list if they think he doesn't want to play for them. He'll just do what Gehrig/Carr/Schofield have done and state that they will retire if not picked up by their club of coice.

    Trent Knobel in 2004 was the last uncontracted player to nominate a club and get selected before hand in the PSD.

    I don't quite understand what he's playing at here. He rejected a 'good' offer from Carlton, and has now said he is not going back to Brisbane because he's upset at being hawked around. He had an opportunity for an out to a club that will be pushing for a flag, didn't take it, and is now quitting the club he's at, at 30, so he can 'test the market'.

    I don't get it, and he could very well leave himself high and dry.
