Wasn't sure which thread to put this in (know I put these in another one, but can't remember which) so thought I may as well just start a new one.

Monday's Medium Defenders - http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...82/default.aspx

Tuesday's Tall Defenders - http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...91/default.aspx

Today's offering - Medium Forwards - http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...15/default.aspx

Tall Forwards - http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...59/default.aspx

Ruckmen - http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...83/default.aspx

If Lucas slips to us at 11, then we take Aaron Black or Carlisle at 18 I'll be a very, very happy boy.

Good idea starting this thread, I did see your previous post in another thread, it can get lost in amongst all the others. Burgo's comments are good to file for reference leading up to the draft. If Lucas gets to pick 11, you won't be the only one that is happy.

Burgo's draft range selections are all over the shop.

It will be interesting to see how close he gets with his Phantom draft.

No doubt he'll have 25 different players rated in the pick 8-20 range or something like that.

But its interesting to get an impartial and educated view.

Burgatron usually isn't far off in his phantom (even if he does continually make edits to it all the way up until draft)

People say I'm harsh in some of my summaries of this years crop of players.

Lucas - good player crippled by OP, would be a decent get at #11

Aaron Black - with Butcher/Talia gone, he has no chance of getting past Pick #12

Carlisle - 197 cms now, still moves a bit slowly .. slight chance he will be there still at #18

My opinion of players is limited to what I've read and seen on youtube and foxtel, so should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but I think Kane Lucas will be this year's version of Cyril Rioli, Joel Selwood, Daniel Rich, etc.

ie. A player that makes everyone sit up and say "why on earth did our team not select him 5 picks earlier?"

From what I know I'd agree with your appraisal of Black and Carlisle, but I live in hope.

The recent revelations that you 'could throw a blanket over picks 5-25' has awoken the optimist in me.

(I can't remember the specific quotes, but this is the general exaggerated gist of it)

I thought about it but I didn't want to begin a sentence with a preposition, even if it is generally accepted nowadays.

Wait - :P

November 25.

The night before the draft.

You sure? Didn't he release a series of them over time last year?

Maybe I'm imagining it

He released 2 last year - both in the week leading up to the draft.

His reasoning for this was that the draft was so even that he was heding his bets too much on each selection (naming 3-4 teams).

He also re-issued his Phantom Draft last year because in the days approaching the draft Fremantle announced they would be taking Hill (he had them listed as taking Rich).

This changed the entire draft dynamic.

Fair enough then.

Cheers for the info

October 30th he said today.

I am quite surprised that there hasn't been more talk on here about Ryan Bastinac he was very good in the TAC Grand Final but no one seems at all interested in him.

Interesting that he doesn't seem to rate Panos highly. Black, Carlisle, Butcher, Griffiths and Taylor are all ranked higher and no mention of Temel.

saw him play 3 times this year for stingrays, he will be drafted, 3rd rounder at best.

Interesting how he rates Panos. Anywhere from 15 to the Rookie draft.

I like the writeup on Ben Griffiths too. He looks to be built along the lines of the Incredible Hulk. Could be very handy.

Looks like he's just rating the draft camp invitees at this stage. Temel wasn't asked to attend. Be interesting to see where Matt places him in his Phantom Draft.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
