FB- McDonald Warnock Rivers

HB-Garland Frawley Bennell

C- Sylvia, Grimes, Morton

HF- Watts, Bate, Green

FF- Wonna, Jurrah, Davey

R- Jamar, Moloney, Jones

I- Bruce, Scully, Trengove, Martin

Backline- If McDonald is captain he has to be on the starting field. I can only see him in the backline this year though? Bennell is there for the run, Strauss could also fill here, Keep Garland where he has been effective.

C- Good decision makers and big engines with Grimes and Mort, Sylvia adds the extra grunt and has good disposal usually inside fifty.

Forward line- Watts, Bate and Green all players with the ability to work high up the ground and all have good disposal, FF line of Wonna, Jurrah and Davey could be bloody exciting! Jurrah not your usual FF but seriously you just have to kick it around his head and he will get close to getting the mark and also having wonna and davey at his feet could be very exciting.

Jurrah can also swap with either Watts or Green to have a go at HF cause his disposal and vision inside fifty is very handy.

Davey could also have runs in the middle and swap with Sylvia and Morton as they both have ability to take marks and kick goals.

Take McLean out for obvious reasons and maybe Bennell also to get both Scully and Trengove in there for round 1.

Team I'd like to see:

B: Rivers, Warnock, Frawley

HB: Bennell, Garland, Strauss

C: Morton, Moloney, Sylvia

HF: Bate, Watts, Petterd

F: Maric, Green, Jurrah

FOLL: Meesen, Scully, Jones

I/C: Jamar, Trengove, Bruce, Blease

- to get games into a lot of the young guys

Others: Martin, Buckley, Bartram, Miller, Jetta, Wonaeamirri

Tough to fit everyone in, this is a good sign!

Middle: Grimes, Scully, Sylvia, Davey, Moloney

Forwards: Jurrah, Watts

Backmen: Garland, Warnock, Frawley

Any other players on the field are merely a bonus.

Bate should be in that group.

Morton should be somewhere as well.

People are forgetting Brad Green.

B: Garland Warnock Frawley

HB: Grimes Rivers Bennell

C: Morton Jones Green

HF: Sylvia Bate Davey

F: Wonnaeamirri Jurrah Petterd

R: Jamar Moloney Scully

Int: Martin, Bruce, 2 0f Mcdonald, Watts, Jetta, Trengove

If Watts not selected, Garland/Martin to push forward to add height to the forward line when needed.

My preferred team for 2010 this is really tough to fit all these guys together

B: Rivers, Warnock, Frawley

Hb: Morton, Grimes, Mcdonald

C: Jones, Sylvia, Green

Hf: Bate, Jurrah, Davey

F: Garland, Watts, Wona

R: Jamar, Moloney, Bruce

Int: Scully, Petterd, Martin, Trengove

Emerg: Benell, Miller, Strauss, Blease

If we can get 2-3 seasons of these guys regularly playing together it's going to be exciting

Middle: Grimes, Scully, Sylvia, Davey, Moloney

Forwards: Jurrah, Watts

Backmen: Garland, Warnock, Frawley

Any other players on the field are merely a bonus.

You left out Bate and Morton.

You are racist against extremely white people.

Tsk, tsk.

B: FRAWLEY, WARNOCK, BRUCE

HB: GRIMES, RIVERS, MORTON

C: DAVEY, JONES, SYLVIA

HF: TRENGOVE, BATE, GREEN

F: JURRAH, WATTS, WONAEAMIRRI

FOLL: JAMAR, SCULLY, MOLONEY

IC: MCDONALD, PETTERD, BENNELL, MARTIN

This is pretty close to what I would like to see. This is with Blease, Strauss, Picks 11, 18 + others, Jetta, Maric, Miller, Dunn, Bartram and Buckley in reserve. Think we'll do ok in 2010!

You left out Bate and Morton.

You are racist against extremely white people.

Tsk, tsk.

They had it coming.

And have you not seen Grimes or Jurrah? Learn your football you clown.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
