Toigs secure 15th place ...

Ironical that the Toigs finish the season with an 80 point defeat 6.9.45 to Weagles 17.23.125.

I reckon they're a year behind us at least but there's no #1 pick for them this year and no priority pick next year.

And a real big thank you Jordan McMahon. They should name the Draft and Trading Board around here after the man.

Deledio had a decent night. Besides him a cousins they showed nothing for their fans going into 2010.

Tom swift looked fantastic tonight for the eagles.

I'm just looking forward to draft day watching Richmond stuff up their picks by drafting Andrew Moore at pick 3 instead of Morabito or Butcher only for the fact that they have Andrew's brother Kelvin already on the list!

Defeated us by 80 in R22 last year - the wheel turns ...

Thank the heavens that Richmond picked up Cousins cos they would've been a hell of a lot worse without him in 2009.

Hmmm. Would the mods here be up for that? I reckon it's hysterical, but they likely wouldn't want to be criticised for cheering on the tank.

I was wondering how long it would take for people to mention this.

I was left feeling very empty after last years draft day. Watts was a given, and when it came to picks 17 and 19, I was really only hoping for Swift. People told me to sod off as he had injury concerns, but for mine, he moved the best out of ALL draftees, except maybe Watts. When they called Blease at 17 I was saddened, but I thought we'd get both when Shuey's name was called out. Choosing not to draft Swift with both selections was one of the big stingers in recent memory for mine.

I know it's only the last month he's played well, so this is obviously very early days, but I think this one'll end up hurting us in the future, for whatever that's worth.

No disrespect to Blease and Strauss... I don't mean to talk down about them. My problems with Blease are for another day, but I think Strauss will be ok.

If the Moderators had any sense of humour or irony they should do it. The guy is a legend and I'll never forget his contribution to the MFC.

The "Jordie McMahon Drafting and Trading Board"

It's a must.

I'm with you DD, I was following the draft and celebrated when I heard Shuey's name being called out. He'll be a very good player but just as long as Strauss becomes a regular it won't hurt too much.

Digga mate, what is your problem?

The name of the forum has been commented on quite a few times in this very thread. I have followed suit. Hardly worthless.

F*** me that's a wonderful sight

Jordan McMahon is the best thing to happen to our 2009 season, I still can't believe he kicked it. Wasn't an easy shot and a massive amount of pressure, but he did, and I am still very thankful for it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
