Just throwing this out there to get some percentages of what ppl think we should do. If there is a"other" let us know who.

There are others who should be involved in the poll, namely Morabito, Lucas and even Dustin Martin as someone else has already suggested in another thread. We need to enter the draft with our eyes wide open

yep .both eyes wide open...one on Scully and the other on Trengove ;)

Cunnington and Rohan come up a lot too.

The likes of Morabito & Rohan should have been included in the poll despite favouritism for Trengove.

I still think the club will choose Butcher and in 3 years time we'll all be stoked they did.

Aren't ppl saying that Trengove is closing the gap with number 1 not going further away from number 2?

Spose we could set tongues wagging by picking Trengove at 1...Scully at 2....... such would be the upset !! pmsl :P:lol:

I think these two are now well clear of the peleton !!

Yes, some. That wasn't my point though. I'm saying the likes of Morabito & Rohan should have been included in the poll along with Butcher & Trengove. (despite the obvious favouritism for Trengove).

Quite a few have Morabito up there with Trengove and Rohan seems to have a bullet beside his name (on the up) and is a bit of a smoky to go early.

Fair call. My bad. "Other" could be rather large then.

Yeah, depending on who has pick 3, both Morabito and Rohan could have more chance of going pick 3 than Butcher ( as we'll certainly take Trengove pick 2...)

Fair enough, they can select 'other'.

High Tower I think you live on here, seriously.

Fine

Pick 2 Trengove.

Take it easy no offence lol.

It seems certain that Trengove is the second best midfielder, but do we know for certain that Butcher is the best tall, what are the other tall options that people think will go early. I believe we need to get the best tall forward with our second pick, if that is Butcher then we get him.

Lunacy.

Hope your right.

With jack viney as a father/son in 2011, MFC would have to many mid's if they take Trengove.

You can't serously be thinking ahead that far? What if the kid choses not to play footy? Far out people are already thinking about 15 year old's who think they will play for the club.

2011 is only 3 years.

MFC have a 5 year plan.

yes, but not on 15 year old children who still have 2 years to get there in which anything could happen.

I'm also sure that they will not factor this child into their draft choices, which you seemed to have done with Trengove. They may have had a look at him, but not much more.

anything could happen to Trengove, Scully or Butcher. anything can happen to anybody at any time?

I'm sure MFC can work out weather Viney wants to play AFL.

15 year old children? Tim Watson was 16 when he played his first game.

Trengove for me, but would be happy with Morabito or Rohan also.

Not keen on Butcher, hoping Panos or Carlisle are still available at 18. Or, highly unlikely, Talia, who's probably the best of the lot, and definitely should go top 10.

People have been talking themselves out of Butcher for a while on this forum and I can't understand why (if we recruit him he'll have a [censored] time at the club as everyone wants trengrove) but this guy has been talked about as the number two pick since last year he is a good player not some smokey who could go anywhere between 10-25. People need to realised that he is a top talent in the elite barrack and we are not talking potential but he has shown this at the underage level and that is why he is rated that high.

He has some issues with his game as do all players but they are not as major as people make out....

Any chance of taking Talia at #2 if we want KPP?

Too many midfielders?

1. How do you know that Viney will continue playing footy?

2. How do you know that he will want to come to Melbourne, and that his career will be decent?

3. There are other picks in the draft, not only 1 and 2. You realise that if we take Butcher, we will still get a good midfielder at pick 18. Does that mean we will have too many midfielders? And then there are picks 34 and 50. We still have picks other that 1, 2, and this potential F/S.

There are too many contradictions by some posters.

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
