Its a funny thing football.

The way the football cookie has crumbled Tom Scully would be on his way to Richmond if Jordan McMahon had of missed that goal a few weeks ago and we would only have pick 2, pick 20, pick 36, pick 52 and preseason pick 2. That is significantly short of picks 1, 2, 19, 35, 51 and PS 1.

I know we still have one round to go but if it was Richmond in 16th place right now I can assure you that they would find a way of losing against West Coast in Perth this weekend, delivering them Tom Scully.

Thank You, Thank You Jordan McMahon.

You may be a dud player, and a poor shot at goal, but you came good when it counted, you did the best thing for the mighty Dees and for that I will forever be grateful. If Melbourne win a Premiership with Scully and Trengrove I propose life membership to the MFC. Jordan your heart beats true for the red and blue. Thank You.

19-2. ;)

WYL, relax champ...the Saints will want to ramp up their performance going into the finals. It could well be all over at quarter time.

I could agree..they are the Implosion / immolation experts. But even they have far too much to play for. Top spot isnt the thing..they need momentum and Lyon will be pulling all stops out to get the Sainters firing again, Its highly likley we will play them into form. I cansee our lads having a crack though. ....just falling short by a bit.or a bit more than a bit..ll

We realy dont have the cattle..or rather the right herd to pull off a win.....but we can try to make a game of it :)

I was thinking more over the last 114 years actually! I don't trust that club one bit, nor do they!!!

I propose a toast.

To McMahon!!!

Hear, hear!

BTW can people get over the fact that we have the slighest, remotest possibility of beating the Saints? Big woop, we've got Scully, and it's about 1 in a thousand for us to win anyway. THere is a reason they won an odd 19 in a row earlier in the year, you know.

Nah we have been through 3 years of Sheer Hell. Picks 1 & 2 in this last Draft is the only christmas present that will make me smile!

Pick 1 is Fantastic. 1 & 2 is just Totally Sublime!!

McMahon has done a lot more for the MFC than he has done or will ever do for the RFC.
I would have to agree with that statement. Have a couple of Tiger mates that will be reminded of this for a very long time indeed. Just need to get past the saints first. ;)

Oh yeah, once this week is over we should send young Jordie a couple of slabs from "Demonlanders"!!

There's a fair chance that if we had of beaten Richmond we would have lost to Freo.

True - but can you imagine what we would have had to do to lose that one? It would have been beyond farcical.

I could imagine the media focus on that game, if that had occurred. :o

Jordie McMahon deserves to be stuffed & mounted on a pedestal & placed somewhere @ the richmond end of the MCG. :D

The Richmond folk can admire him there for generations as we continue to build a new Dynasty of the DEE.

My richmond mate thinks McMuffin (as he calls him) cost the toge's Sculley. Whether he did or not I think its very funny.

He's right. Had Melbourne won that game it would be currently: -

Melbourne 20

Richmond 18

..therfore....

Richmond pick 1

Melbourne pick 2

Although that Freo game result may have been different....and if that was the case it would be: -

Richmond 18

Melbourne 16

..therfore...

Melbourne Pick 1 (PP) & Pick 2

Richmond pick 3

For the record it's: -

Richmond 22

Melbourne 16

But yes, it is amusing listening to Tiger supporters....

I don't see any humour in somebody beating us but I do find it ball bursting hilarious that the only thing that he could put on his very brief highlight reel was to cost his side the best kid in the land. Ahhh, Richmond. You do make me laugh.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
