Sorry if this seems ignorant, however is anyone aware of what position German will be given at the Mfc next year? Having already been given a full time contract by the Mfc I'm quite curious as to what his role will be.

He already is a development coach with MFC alongside his role as Scorpions coach

German is definitely a good coach. Received very good praise from David Rhys Jones.

IMO German is a huge asset to the Dees. The alignment with Casey has worked on so many levels, the two clubs seem to mesh so well. Casey showed yesterday that they can beat a team with a lot of AFL players without too many of their own, but the Dees players really put in when they're there. A number of Dees have gone back to Casey, worked on parts of their game and come back much better and now actually look like they might be something - Petterd, Dunn & Bartram come to mind in recent weeks.

I don't think he has the title 'Development Coach.'

And I don't think he is directly employed by the Dees.

But, for all intents and purposes, he is.

Well it could be wrong, but I have definitely read in an article that Peter German is employed as an MFC part-time development coach in conjunction with his role as Casey Senior Coach. He took over the position previously held by Mark Williams when Mark became the Midfield Line Coach.

The Sandy coalition was the envy of the competition... if you were a VFL fan. The MFC list did gain a lot from it, but not as much in any single season as Casey seems to have offered. So many players get dropped, come back, and have improved.

After nearly one year, an enthusiastic pass mark to German and Casey.

German has done an exceptional job with a very young Casey list and with generally young inexperienced Melbourne players. Most impressed with his quarter time addresses. Always composed and gets through alot of information clearly and succintly.

AND CASEY ARE ABOVE SANDRINGHAM ON THE LADDER!

which based on some of the posts in these parts when the Casey alignment was announced is quite funny.

Very impressive win, with kudos definetely going to German. The next few weeks sound like they will be tough, but hopefully some of the injured players make returns and we stay in the top 4. Once the finals are here, several of the Melbourne players can come back. Casey have a great chance of having a good finals series.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
