As i am a Paddy i always have been a fan of our Tadhg,(lovely bloke too) rumours are from home that he is nearing a return to the AFL, his side Kerry are a good side, but may have missed the boat on winning another GAA all ireland final, they are def on the slide. i know that he loves sydney but i also know he is itching to play in melbourne!! cant say how. what do u think? should we try get him, and at what cost!!! i'd love him running off half back for the dees, and he's not that old either. great engine, good skills, good professional. Jim could have a word with him!!!!

go dees

most over-rated player in the last 10 years. Averaged 15 touches over his career which is not enough. Would go missing for 3 quarters of a game. Yeh, he ran the lines but he obviously never had the tank to go into the midfield and we dont need another half back flanker.

thats a bit harsh, most over-rated? nice premiership he's got though! stats really dont tell the full story mate. he's run off the half back has been copied by many a player and coach, dont always rely on stats. but ur entitled to ur opinion

Appreciate the idea there Paddy...but I dont think were in the market for any more 28 yo's just at present !! Not our time frame ;)

Im going to agree with bb59, purely on age i guess.

Kennely was a quiet a good player though we have got a lot of young halfback flankers,

Look at Sydneys record with him and then there record when ha was injured. Overrated? id say he was probably underrated.

Would absolutely love him running around for us. Unless there is another Jurrah or Martin we have our eyes on would be a great use of our preseason draft pick.

hang on, give me a second to think about this one..... ah no thanks

He has Dislocated too many shoulders for my liking, but worth a thought.

He was tough & learnt the game quickly.

This thread should have ended after this post....he is no good.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
