After a weekend of footy which do you find more depressing?

At first glance it seems like a straightforward query, however taking pp's into consideration and the fact that JW is the messiah it's actually a tough one.

STOP THE PRESS,

A 17yr/old WAS NOT BOG in a tough contest?

WHAT RUBBISH, not worthy of a vote!

I take it you voted for 'Melbourne losing'

In fairness to Watts, the Casey game was rubbish. The entire team played poorly. He was probably one of a few to show promise in bursts.

Check the last line! - No vote....

As much as it pains us all a loss atm is the 2nd biggest prize in football.

Are you an idiot ? No offence intended but what a stupid question. A kid playing his 3rd game of VFL football and he had one bad game. Oh god we should delist him.

This thread is a 'tongue in cheek' response to the results over the weekend and more specifically the general feeling around this place after a loss. In no way did I suggest that I'm dissapointed with JW's performance.

I'm bemused that I've had to exlain this point.

Hi guys/girls long time read, first time poster.

Not sure about this post Jarka, Watts playing badly yesterday didn't really bother me. Did you go to the game? I went yesterday and Watts seemed a young boy surrounded by bigger bodies, he was leading too early for the footy and his positioning on the ground was out of place. He wasnt playing as a leading forward just floating across the half forward line, when the ball was moved into the forward line it was already to congested for the likes of him to really have a go. The game yesterday was of poor quality and reminded me of a game of under 9's football where everyone was following the football. I hope where not going to jump of Jacks back everytime he plays an ordinary game, because yesterday showed he is a still a boy amongst men, and it will take him time to develop and play senior footy. :

To clarify, Jarka wasn't jumping on Watts' back.

Anyway, nice work on making your first post and keep them coming - particularly if you get down to Casey a bit, as it's always good to hear how the Demons players are travelling!

Jarka, prepare for continued misinterpretation of your thread :P

the thread is tongue in cheek because of the fact that a loss doesnt hurt nearly as much now than it would if we were challanging for finals...i walked away from the bulldogs game angry at the umpires more than anything

and on sunday, was looking forward to reading the jurrah, watts, hughes summary and only one of them played well and i was a tiny bit not happy...of course we cant put this much pressure on watts but jarka is not suggesting that so chill out.

so yes, fair question...i voted watts...i would have prefferred to read that watts had a good game than a win (if it hamperred us getting a PP) to be honest

Yeah, it was definitely one of those 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' situations :(

Personally I blame it all on Newton he is holding Watts back. Watts would have kicked 10 if Newton wasn't at full forward. Newton is the new Sautner.

As much as I usually like your posts this one is stupid. Watts is a kid doing his VCE and the MFC is a club full of kids who are learning their craft. Watts isn't the messiah and to give him that tag is unfair on us and him. I am old enough to remember Barrassi coming back as coach and my dad using the same words. Didn't help.

Depressing - None of it. If you expect a kid to be the saviour of the club then you are missing the big point. We are well placed for 2012/13 but until then expect some disapointment. The kids will make mistakes but they will get less and less with game time.

Rojik, this thread was a tongue in cheek look back at the results from the weekend, highlighting the fact that people seemed more interested in JW's performance with Casey rather than a Melbourne loss due to the pp's.

Yeah, i agree, stupid.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
