Am amazed that some people left Brock out of the votes.

Yes he is still not at full pace, but he was excellent today. Laid strong tackles, won the ball both in close and in space, and kicked a brilliant goal.

Saw Bailey giving him and Jones a big pat on the back at three-quarter time. Both work themselves into the ground each week, and while Jones' disposal was poor today, he has been superb this year. Just needs to learn to be smarter about when he can and can't beat his opponent, because his pace is ordinary.

I thought Ricky was impressive today. I don't think he deserves to be in the 'pull finger' category after that performance.

Paul Johnson, on the other hand, was terrible, for the 4th game in 5 weeks. Other than his lovely lead-mark-play on, then bullet pass to the lead of Bate at the Punt rd end, he was shocking with his decision making and ball-handling. Fumbles, losing balance, dropping chest marks, his game 'had it all'.

I thought his ruckwork was adequate- he spent less time in the ruck than Messen but ended up with more hitouts (16 to 9), but around the ground and forward he was useless again. Which really pains me to say because he's one of my favorites.

Definite 'pull finger out' candidate.

Before half time I was shaking my head wondering if any of our players were up to it. However in the end:-

What's with people giving Sylvia votes? I hardly noticed him yesterday. We're all looking for consistency from Colin, and he certainly didn't get close to what he gave us last week.

Davey is the only person who consistenly hit a target yesterday, hence the 6 votes. But McLean played his best game for the year yesterday.

Jaded occasionally you need to take off your Brock coloured glasses. Yes he worked hard and got a few touches (29 maybe?) but apart from that goal he butchered the ball at almost every opportunity (and that dropped mark in the forward line was the icing).

Not saying he was the worst by any means, but would be lucky to get votes for being in our top 6. Apart from Davey (silky skills) our best 6 should be all defenders. To concede only 7 goals was a pretty damn good effort.

And hilarious how the papers all put Morton in the best (they just saw him at the top of the stats column). He was poor every time he went near it except the one occasion on the Southern wing when he beat his opponent and got a clean handball off.

Not great, but beats Bruce, Morton, Jones, Sylvia, PJ, Jetta, Bate, Meesen, Miller and Newton.

He also spent just 71% of time on the ground, and still managed to rack up 29 disposals, 6 marks, 8 tackles, 4 clearances and a great goal.

Not his best game by a long shot, but he worked really hard and constantly presented both down and up the field. For what it's worth (which is not a lot I would have thought :D), he was the only Demon to score votes in that games by the Age (given 7 votes).

Delighted with Chip Frawley's continued improvement, and (with apologies to Ross Lyon) pleased with Bennell's showing as well.

By McLean's moderately lofty standards his ball use was poor, as were the entire midfield's. Just a so-so game from the man touted as our best midfielder. Describing it as excellent was a bit rich.

This is true. And it is the reason why people wrongly sing Bruce's praises. Too often he handpasses to someone who is flatfooted, not ready to receive the ball, but who does, meaning the disposal was 'efficient'.

Given McLean is third in Demonland voting, without setting the world on fire.....suggests he's definitely one of the favourites to take out the Demonland player of the Year.

Would have been a two horse race between Davey and Green, now its all Daveys.
