Your top 5 demons

Featured Replies

Have blogged my thoughts on Jimmy here. http://fcmelbourne.com/blog/post/FCM...ma-status-mfc/

My Top 5 demons:

1. Norm Smith. Our greatest ever coach

2. Ron Barassi. Our greatest ever captain.

3. David Neitz. Stats don't lie.

4. Jim Stynes. See blog. Amazing story and the book is not yet closed. May yet rise to #1.

5. Robert Flower. Anyone who followed the club during our darkest hour would agree. Freak.

My top 5 are:

1. Ron Barassi On his own way out in front. Mr Football.

2. Norm Smith What a player, what a coach!

3. Laurie Mithen Superb skills and as tough as nails.

4. Robert Flower Sublime skills.

5. Stuart Spencer Those long raking, accurate drop kicks!

Why oh why was I born in Flower's last year.

I wish I could've seen him!

In my opinion Norm Smith is head and shoulders above any other Demon. How can he not be when he either played in or coached 10 of our 12 flags.

1. Smith

2. Barassi

3. Ridley - player/coach/committee member/president

4. Flower - kept the spirit of long suffering supporters alive

5. Checker Hughes/ Iva Warne-Smith

what about the top (worst) 5? of the modern era

1/ Brent Gergic - Nothing more needs to be said (ND's love child?)

2/ Luke Molan - injury & unluckiest player in a long time

3/ Neil Blame - probably years ahead with game plan, lack of understanding of players capabilities

4/ Nick Smith - Promising tall, delivered nothing

5/ Paul Gardner- Run the club to the wall in a time of economic prosperity, but always painted a positive picture

This post qualifies for the worst of the year. Just taking cheap shots, and grossly inaccurate.
