Dean Bailey, sided by ex-Melbourne recruitment manager Barry Prendergast, has expressed his dissapointment at the club's inability to fund the relocation of 2008 recruits Jamie Benell, Neville Jetta, to a lesser extend Rohan Bail along with 2007 Number 4 selection Cale Morton.

The mistake has led to the sacking of Prendergast, and a new hiring of recruitment Benjamin Jenkins, a 14 year old who can be paid minimum wage who resides within 400 metres of the MCG. Luckily for the MFC, the only talent pool Benjamin will have access to is his Under-15 side and possibly the Under-16 side.

"Unfortunately Ben will not have access to Seniors matches as they play on the Sunday, and his parents want that to be his homework day" Bailey said. Ben's sister attends his Saturday football matches, and The Age understands that the family would like Mr. Jenkins to attend his sister's Sunday Ballet.

Morton, a boom recruit who starred in his first handfull of matches, began to visibly wane on field towards the latter part of the season. Supporters' wondered why his kicking fell away as the season wore on, but it has since become clear it was solely due to the fact that the club could not feed him.

Craig Cameron, the Demon recruitment manager of the time, was quoted off the record as laughing at the Demons expressing distainfully that he had truly "stuck it up the f#$%rs" by selecting the WA teenager.

Prendergast, attending his last official engagement as an MFC employee, was clearly upset by his incorrect decisions.

"I should've picked players I didn't rate" was all that Barry could muster in his defence. Claiming, ridiculously, that he thought picking better players, regardless of where they spent their formative years, would help the club.

"Oh God! Why the hell did I pick Jamie Bennel at pick 35, I could've had Ashley Smith and the club wouldn't be in financial ruin."

Bailey defended his team's recruitment strategies, explaining that the predicament was "the sole reason we picked Jack Watts."
