just heard from the sainsational organisers...

they are keen to play us while rivvo is out with his knee injury... <_<

suggestion is late november or early december...

they can find another oval with a good surface (not glenferrie)...

they ask if we would object to a saturday game... (not saying they won't play sunday)...

can posters register their interest and preferred dates here, so we can give them an early reply ??

thanks,

rollo

If they want to play on a Saturday, you can tell them we'll play them on the day of the national draft if they don't mind Jack Watts playing for us!

On a serious note however, I think we might lose a few players to their cricket teams if that happens so I'm not sure that it's going to be all that popular an idea.

I'd be in, foot should be fine by then

Now that my exams have finished I would seriously consider playing depending on the day that is chosen.

so what's your preference, clint ??

no chance on a saturday because of cricket, but given enough notice i think i could really make my debut this time.

no more exams, i dont work sundays anymore. sounds like the stars are aligning for deanox to pull on the red and blue...

definitely a no to november 30th from me, but i dont think i am high up the pecking order in when this game gets determined anyway.

Preference for a Sunday at this point and that shouldn't change.

i too would prefer sunday (cricket) and im free from the masters after december 3rd so after then pleeeease??

I am open to bribes, cactus...

Whats the chances of a bus trip to the location.

Casey, anyone?

The surface would be great.

Well - Sunday is usually best for people - especially during cricket season...

I jet off on November 26th, so unless its before then, I'll be out.

  • Author

hey, dl...

where do you want the bus trip to start from ??

(it will probably finish at one of the lush albert park lake ovals, but don't tell anyone I said so)...

and can people please post their preferences - saturday v sunday, exact dates etc (see the post from cactus above)... ??

  • Author

just heard from mfc...

and his preferences line up with those of cactus...

melbournefc is a major organiser of these games, SO WE BETTER TAKE NOTICE OF HIS PREFERENCES IMO...

I'm play Rec Footy in the Corporate Games at Albert Park on the weekend of 22/23 Nov.

At this stage I might be available the last week of Nov?? I also have tennis finals...tbc

Prefer a sunday game, saturday is out.

I'm also in the Saturday cricket-playing boat, so a Sunday would suit me better. Would play any Sunday. Definitely can't play Saturdays.

have heard from cribbes, our 7' ruckman, and he won't be flying in until december 7... <_<

and december 7 (a sunday) is shaping as the realistic date...

a realistic date on which we will be without both cribbes and mickrocks1, unhappily...

at least cactus will be happy...

and my reputation for taking bribes will be enhanced...

I realise that most people are from up Melbourne way so it might be a big hassle, but I wonder what the chances are of playing the game at Casey Fields? Preferably while the team isn't there, we can't have them being critical of the way we play football...

There are a few grounds there and they always seem to be in good nick. Just a thought.

substantial number of our players use public transport, clint...

and there is most often an after-match drink and BBQ with the sainters after the match...

these things need to be factored in to any final choices...

Fair enough.

Just putting it out there.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
