Left Footers

Already have PJ... ;)

As long as they kick straight and are skilled on either foot it doesn't matter whether they're lefty or righty.

We should recruite more left footers  ...is this one of those "all Catholics make better footballers" arguements?

*Cough* Daniel Rich *Cough*

Brad Green???

I would prefer if a footballer could kick off both feet. Nothing worse than see a one sided player corralled in today's game.

Rhino pretty well sums it up

cannot understand the logic with the left footer romance some people have (example Buddy Franklin)

call me harsh but to me anyone who has no opposite side to their body by hand or foot is NOT COMMITTED to improving for the TEAM

As long as he's not left handed, writing on white boards is hard for a left hander because they rub out what they write, I don't want many MFC players who can't write on whiteboards

James Hird got away with it

Allow me to be the first to call you harsh.

What about M. Bate? he has no right at all IMO.

Is he un comitted to the team?

I'd be disappointed, and surprised, if M. Bate wasn't working his backside off to improve the right side of his body as it would have obvious positive repercussions on the team.

All players have a responsibility to improve parts missing from their game IMO

Absolutely, but I dont think that if the 'wrong side' just isnt there, then they havent put in.

Would Bate be a better footballer with an effective right foot ?

These are not the days where footballers trained on Tuesday and Thurday nights and played the match on Saturdays

Having the ability to dispose of the ball equally with hand or foot on both sides of your body should be every footballers goal

Of course there have been some great players who are noticeably one sided players

To answer your *Is he uncomitted to the team* question i would have thought that was obvious if he has set aside no practice to improve a basic skill of our game

left ..right...ffs they can use their middle foot for all I care.. as long as they can play !!

are you a sales rep for Ned Flanders there BA ??

I'd like to see that.

...or maybe I wouldn't

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
