Rich showed that he couldnt handle the pressure during the carnival and payed only 1 good game. He had been battling all year in the WAFA and meanwhile Watts was named man of the carnival as a CHF. How can you say Rich > Watts

Watts is still the obvious choice

If we get pick 2---which is most likely--- WCE will take Rich for 3 reasons

1) they are desperate for midfielders with Judd and Cousins gone

2) Rich is from WA

3) Rich is gonna be a brownlow medal winning star. he is a safest bet in this yrs draft. He has the score on the board, ppl shouldn't base purely on National championships. many highly rated recruiters have considered him the best midfielder to come out of a draft in years.

In that situation, we will pick up Watts with pick 2. This suits us quite nicely because Watts is the key forward we need!!!

If we get pick 1, i'd pick Daniel Rich because with pick 1 you have to go best available.

With either pick 1 or pick 2 it would be gutsy to go with Naitanui. But if they go with him i'd respect it, because they are backing themselves to turn his athletisism into superstar football ability

watts pik one

warnock pik one of pre season draft

and straight swap - sylvia for alwyn davey!!

id be happy with that!!!

Not bad. I'm a big fan of col, but that looks alright

the same reason why trent cotchin was picked up at number 2(after a shocking u18 carnival) and morton was picked up at 4(who won the medal for best player of the carnival). Cotchin is regarded as the better of the 2. The carnival is important but recuiters have been watching these kids play for 5 years. they have seen alot more than just 3 games.

Saw the schoolboy game today. Every time he got a 1 on 1 or a 2 on 1 he marked it. Marked pretty well but had 4 on him all day. didnt do too badly considering the mass of opponents on him. Would be dissapointed if we didnt take him. Kick 1.4 which wasn't great but is usually a magnificent kick.

are you a brighton boy?

i thought he was good but the opposition purposely didnt put more than one player on him..the midfielders just ran back to cover the space.

MFC will not trade for any player over 22 yrs old... Alwyn is 24. even though that's extremely young, we want all our young guns coming through together.

Any trades that involve players over 22 will not happy imo

Correct

MFC Forward line 09

Aaron Davey Miller Bate

Woanners Watts Alwyn Davey

Has a lovely look to it really, pace, skill, hardness, agility, power and SUCCESS!!!!!!!

You cant forget Russell Robertson surely!

I dont think Essendon would trade Alwyn Davey. Dee's had there chance to get him in the draft and missed him.

I think the forward line could be;

Bruce Miller Bate

Robbo Watts Aussie

I think Aaron Davey could be used in the midfield, however can rotate with Bate. Bate is likely midfielder also.

Rich.

It is a Sophies choice and I will accept whoever we get but we need a midfielder more than any other team.

We have one truly decent mid in McLean.

Although I have always been in the camp of pick the good big man over the good smaller player, Rich is the safest bet.

We also need a quality forward, but we have a couple that are mediocre and have some hope.

Even if we dont get Warnock, I am luke warming to Jamar and to a lesser extent PJ.

If it was this time next year, I believe I would be cursing missing out on Rich more than I would be anxiously waiting for the ripening of NikNat or Watts.

We have no KP depth.

Midfielders aplenty.

Look at the most promising Tall Fwds vs the best midfielders and see what is in better shape.

Tall Fwds: Miller, Bate, Newton, and Morton.

Midfielders: McLean, Jones, Batram, Moloney, Davey, Dunn, Grimes, Valenti, Sylvia, and Buckley.

Both have significant problems but Miller and Newton are inconsistent, Morton may not develop into a KP, and Bate is incapable of dynamic movement required to be a great tall fwd.

Take Rich, but don't say our mids are worse than our tall fwds because that is a faulty argument.

which one of our mids are super players. any good side needs a couple of superstar mids. we lack any

I think that good tall foward make midfield

look good.

I would take Watts with our fist pick, then

two midfield players with our next two picks.

Probably agree Frankie, but we are all aware that the big guys take longer to mature / develop.

I'd be looking at a 3 year minimum of NikNat or Watts to 'ripen', but the longer-term rewards may be greater. How good / valuable will all of them be at their peak? ....... that's the key question.

Geez I'm glad it won't be my decision!

after saying what i said...i wouldnt be upset if melbourne took watts because we havent had a pavlich/reiwoldt mobile type player in years. there is a lot of work ahead of him but you can still see a lot and i mean a lot of potential when he takes big pack marks

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
