It seems every time I start a new topic it's to ask where the hell a certain player is!

Last time it was Frawley, this time it's Newton.

Started the season poorly and got dropped. I was pretty disappointed as Neitz is done and he is the only big forward coming through to replace him. I know he was suspended at Sandy a few weeks back, and possibly copped an injury at training last week?

Why hadnt he been playing with Sandy after the suspension was served?

Does anyone know what is up with him? The club is useless for injury info.

His facebook status last week was 'someone donate me a new knee :(' I thought the injury was a shoulder

Funny, Neita's retiring and the air-apparent is nowhere to be seen...

Taking one specky doesn't make him the heir apparent to Neitz.

He has done little to show he has what it takes to be a regular senior player, much less replace a club icon!

I know! That's why I'm so worried as the where he is!

Our forward line has been our strength for as long as I can remember. Jackovich, Lyon, Schwartz, Farmer, Yze, Neitz, Robertson.

It is now our weakness and there is noone in site who looks like they can step up and be our next great forward. Bate and Miller player the lead up role. Robbo would have maybe 1-2 seasons left, and is past his best. Yze is gone. Davey is being pushed up into the midfield. Dunn is playing as a tagger and going backwards. Wona is ok, but is a crumber and not someone to rely on to kick you bags and take the number 1 defender :P

So where is Newton?

This draft we must draft a tall forward. Hurley would be nice!

Sorry, I forgot to add 'supposed' air-apparent. I totally agree with you 100%

I thought Hurley was a defender. But yeah, you're right. I personally think Newton is not up to it, so maybe that's why Zomer is on the rookie list. Still need to draft a replacement though.

Newton needs to study the footy laws of relativity! He has become the invisible man when should have been a walk up given our porr form up forward this year and now Neita has succumbed to injury. Very dissappointing and I fear you may be right titan in your assessment

My understanding is that he is primarily a backman who is just as adept when thrown forward.

For that reason he is argueably the best draft pick option for the MFC's list requirements come the end of the year.

What worried me about Newton when he played last year was his pace, he seems slow and doesnt have bulk so relies on leap only.

Look at buddy and fev both very quick on a lead

Seriously, is the guy still in the country? Has anyone seen him at training?

Ha I have him as well. He has some funny Facebook status'..seems as though all him and Ricky Pettard do is sit at home and play FIFA.

Clint Bartram said at the Demonland/Demonology function last night that Juice had a slight knee injury and would be back in a week or two.

The club's ongoing strategy of not disclosing injuries has really thrown our opponents this year!

This has been a bugbear of mine, and it's about time the club shows some respect to not only their supporters, but also to the players. The players would not be subjected to unjustified derision and ridicule, if the club was honest about the extent of their injuries.

This season is already shot as far as making the finals, so what is to be gained by playing ducks and drakes with disclosing a players' injury?

Does that mean he'll be fit in a week or two, and might go back to Sandy, or he'll be playing for Melbourne in a week or two?

He's training today, straightline short sprints.

Hmm well I can't decide whether to care or not. Hopefully he doesn't just waltz straight into the team, he needs to prove himself at Sandy.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
