  1. Alas the answer is no DC. No polo for me I have been in Canberra for past few days visiting galleries and two exhibitions, the treasures of Versailles and the 2 million years of history in one room with 100 objects from the British Museum of History. In the latter I thought I would find an answer to the last 60 odd posts on this thread but no, while I saw the first evidence of human endeavour with cutting stones from Tanzania more than a million years ago through to tools and art from ancient Egypt, Babylon, Persia through to Alexander and Ptolemy, Augustus, Roman dominance, Tamarlane, aboriginal artifacts and on and on but oddly no mention of the Habsburgs, the Nazis or Steiner schools for that matter. Perhaps the aforementioned discussions are no more than a blip in history of mankind.
  2. Interested in your sources for this post Biff. I am currently reading about early contact from 1788 onward and the writings of the early explorers observations of the locals in their natural environment.
  3. My sources tell me Biff is off to Indochina and will be heading up river in search of a certain Colonel Kurtz who is known to inhabit his village. There won't be much time for revelry I think.
  4. DC where are the bean counters? Obviously they are not in hell because the engineer would normally be bogged down developing numerous cost benefit analyses and endless compliance paperwork and would end up building nothing! I can't believe such types are in heaven, they must be in purgatory?
  5. Gee that looks a lot like my Judean People's Front mug!
  6. PD think about it. He can't be right because without women there would have been no Greeks and for that matter no Romans or Italians to introduce women to the concept of you know what.
  7. And Fitzroy, an oasis in the dysfunctionality I say!
  8. Tim do you know where she put the second tennis ball when she was serving?
  9. I believe Doug Walters has been seen in the nets with Rod Marsh looking on!
  10. Jesse are you being expecting to be deported from Philidelphia to Mexico by the Donald? adios
  11. The NBN system equivalent would be in place at least in the major cities and regional areas before now if we hadn't privatised Telstra in my humble opinion and at less cost.
  12. What is a road conference DF?
  13. Are we running a physics tutorial on here now?
  14. I am worried it might spontaneously catch fire making the building a danger to the public and then needing to be demolished immediately. That would incidentedly lead to an increase in the value of the site. It's happened before apparently. If I was Biff I would be checking the batteries in my smoke detector.
  15. I have been lucky the last two weekends, there have been zero chick flicks on so I have been able to suggest alternatives, what with the weather being so lousy. As a former pilot and a current chemical engineer I have been to see Deepwater Horizon and last week Sully so as my wife said are you satisfied now? Two hours of air crash re-enactments and analysis this week and major hazard disasters last week, boy I will be seeing some chick flick stuff sometime very soon.
  16. DFrog did you see the wild flowers of WA on your long drive? They are saying this year is phenomenal after all the rainfall this year. If I was retired I would be over there now hanging around Geraldton and inland.
  17. Pink This thread is not to be used for actual information. Don't do that again!
  18. I agree RL, nice beach but there were a few pretentious people around when I was last there.
  19. DFrog Are you moving to Onslow or Wyndham or even further north?
  20. RL I have been too busy lately, test driving C3 1970's Corvette Stingrays. I am still searching for one with Pickett's Starsky & Hutch stripe down the middle as this would be one hell of a chick magnet car I would think based on Pickett's experiences in the 70's.
  21. I have heard the ads on SEN about the Thai Lady Boy Gala stage show. Really will anyone show up? This was done to death in the 70's with Les Girls surely.
  22. Well it is mission accomplished as far as I am concerned Two months ago I conceived a cunning plan to derail the Hawk's 4peat campaign, they were on a 7 game winning streak, had beaten the Swans in Sydney, demolished the Tigers and had moved 2 games clear on top of the ladder and they were giving me the shytes no end. And as the wife and in-laws are all mad hawks supporters there was a high level of tension in the household every Dawks game night as I have a developed a pathological hatred for them over the years for obvious reasons. My plan was simply to place a large bet on them to win the flag. I haven't placed a bet on anything for 20 years because I have never won so much as a football club raffle in years of buying raffle tickets for local causes and as for horses or tattslotto forget it. In short I had put the "Curse of The Hood" on the team. Once the bet was laid at 4.5 to 1 in my new Sportsbet account, I found I was totally calm on game night and was quite happy for the Dawks to smash their opponents. It was quite therapeutic actually. And I really did think the Dawks were a real chance to win the flag as their main competitors were looking to be in average form. And the winnings would go toward my next project to buy a C3 corvette stingray that my wife believes is utter folly. She keeps saying it is impractical to buy a 40 year old, gas guzzling, 2 seater with barely enough luggage space to store a tennis racquet. I mean really what would she know! A few weeks later I watch the Dees beat them for the first time in 10 years, Stratton goes down, then the Weagles stitch them up and Ceglar goes down and all of a sudden the team looks old and slow but still has some fight left. And they certainly looked slow on Friday night as the Bulldogs ran all over them. Mitchell, Hodge and Gibson all seemed to be losing form over the last few weeks and they looked very human and battle scarred. Poor Clarko must have been scratching his head and the sports journo's as to what went wrong but now you all know the real reason. Looks like I will have to save a bit longer for the Corvette But please remember to gamble responsibly!
  23. I read today how Carlton and Essendrug are into Declain etc. Why don't we have first dibs on Casey talent like the interstate clubs have first call on their academy kids? It would encourage AFL teams to align with VFL clubs if they knew they had first call on their talent, surely.
  24. Nothing to see here I am afraid Uncle, just meticulous contingency planning on my part. Of course we want our customers to have the full Cairo to Constantinople Middle East Desert experience. They have asked to have the full Lawrance of Arabia experience, camping in Bedouin huts, riding a camel through Wadi Rum and charging into Aqaba and so on. To make this happen I often need to stay in the nearest major city to negotiate our way with the local governors. Choncita, the administrator, extraordinaire makes it all happen of course. We are all about customer service you know.
  25. Aleppo PD? There are still seats available on my Cairo to Constantinople Grand Tour. Aleppo or what's left of it anyway, is one of the scenic highlights of this trip of a lifetime, however short that might be. Can I count you in?
