  1. Hey Red you have reminded me, I first saw the Professor when I was a kid in Carry on Regardless. Sid James was running a business of handy men and women and this odd person would show up regularly speaking gobbledegook. Turns out he was the landlord telling them they were to be evicted. I remember the whole family being in stitches with this bloke who sounded so familiar but made no sense.
  2. Not a lot, did you see BBO when you were in the Sin Bin?
  3. Biff, have you found Colonel Kurtz yet?
  4. Well Dieter I believe all US leaders believe in their right to attack their enemies off shore, wherever it may arise in the world. That gives them the right to ferment revolution or assination locally. And we have witnessed that throughout Central and South America and in Asia of course in the 20th century. Obama is just following a well worn national tradition.
  5. Alas the answer is no DC. No polo for me I have been in Canberra for past few days visiting galleries and two exhibitions, the treasures of Versailles and the 2 million years of history in one room with 100 objects from the British Museum of History. In the latter I thought I would find an answer to the last 60 odd posts on this thread but no, while I saw the first evidence of human endeavour with cutting stones from Tanzania more than a million years ago through to tools and art from ancient Egypt, Babylon, Persia through to Alexander and Ptolemy, Augustus, Roman dominance, Tamarlane, aboriginal artifacts and on and on but oddly no mention of the Habsburgs, the Nazis or Steiner schools for that matter. Perhaps the aforementioned discussions are no more than a blip in history of mankind.
  6. Interested in your sources for this post Biff. I am currently reading about early contact from 1788 onward and the writings of the early explorers observations of the locals in their natural environment.
  7. My sources tell me Biff is off to Indochina and will be heading up river in search of a certain Colonel Kurtz who is known to inhabit his village. There won't be much time for revelry I think.
  8. DC where are the bean counters? Obviously they are not in hell because the engineer would normally be bogged down developing numerous cost benefit analyses and endless compliance paperwork and would end up building nothing! I can't believe such types are in heaven, they must be in purgatory?
  9. Gee that looks a lot like my Judean People's Front mug!
  10. PD think about it. He can't be right because without women there would have been no Greeks and for that matter no Romans or Italians to introduce women to the concept of you know what.
  11. And Fitzroy, an oasis in the dysfunctionality I say!
  12. Tim do you know where she put the second tennis ball when she was serving?
  13. I believe Doug Walters has been seen in the nets with Rod Marsh looking on!
  14. Jesse are you being expecting to be deported from Philidelphia to Mexico by the Donald? adios
  15. The NBN system equivalent would be in place at least in the major cities and regional areas before now if we hadn't privatised Telstra in my humble opinion and at less cost.
  16. What is a road conference DF?
  17. Are we running a physics tutorial on here now?
  18. I am worried it might spontaneously catch fire making the building a danger to the public and then needing to be demolished immediately. That would incidentedly lead to an increase in the value of the site. It's happened before apparently. If I was Biff I would be checking the batteries in my smoke detector.
  19. I have been lucky the last two weekends, there have been zero chick flicks on so I have been able to suggest alternatives, what with the weather being so lousy. As a former pilot and a current chemical engineer I have been to see Deepwater Horizon and last week Sully so as my wife said are you satisfied now? Two hours of air crash re-enactments and analysis this week and major hazard disasters last week, boy I will be seeing some chick flick stuff sometime very soon.
  20. DFrog did you see the wild flowers of WA on your long drive? They are saying this year is phenomenal after all the rainfall this year. If I was retired I would be over there now hanging around Geraldton and inland.
  21. Pink This thread is not to be used for actual information. Don't do that again!
  22. I agree RL, nice beach but there were a few pretentious people around when I was last there.
  23. DFrog Are you moving to Onslow or Wyndham or even further north?
  24. RL I have been too busy lately, test driving C3 1970's Corvette Stingrays. I am still searching for one with Pickett's Starsky & Hutch stripe down the middle as this would be one hell of a chick magnet car I would think based on Pickett's experiences in the 70's.
