  1. Greg Stafford is the only assistant who can hold his head up?. The rest have their jobs on the line and we need changes. Is it time to lure an Adem Yze back with his Hawks IP or Cameron Bruce?
  2. The goal kicking yips have spread through the team like influenza this season.
  3. Can we just win this last quarter.
  4. Yes I did, back then we never had possession to display a skill error?
  5. In one quarter of footy we managed to display every type of skill error it is possible to execute on a footy field.
  6. Fingers crossed for the Queens Birthday honours, I am expecting some good news at last, belated recognition for my tireless work for the recently beleaguered financial sector. But you didn’t hear it here Okay!
  7. Oz Open tennis promo I reckon!
  8. Not without a few frights for heaven’s sake! But she got there!
  9. Yes Uncle I know what your saying. I stopped playing golf about 10 years ago after a year of intensive faulty practice that ingrained a slice off my tee shot and the next approach shot, basically my game was shot. Thus the use by many golfers of a swing doctor to detect any changes in their swing that may lead to errors under the pressure of competitive play. Is set shot goal kicking similar in that kicking techniques can change slightly without the player realising and suddenly, a la TMac, they can’t kick straight? I think so, thus my query about the lack of review of goal kicking technique by our key forwards. Yes they may kick freely at practice but freeze up, tighten up in a game and hook the ball off line. golfers have to deal with this to make a living, how to make the clutch putt on payday. They have to stay loose and go through their routine and not think of the consequences of failure.
  10. Yes the great forwards talk of developing a technique and a routine that stands up under pressure. Professional golfers all have a repeatable putting routine, so it should be for set shots for goal. Practice makes perfect they say! As long as you practice the correct technique of course.
  11. I didn’t know his number so couldn’t pick him out. At one stage I thought I was watching him but that turned out to be Lockhart.
  12. Salem trained the whole session and was involved in everything but I don’t remember seeing Hore now that you mention it.
  13. Got to training late this morning. Petty was walking off to the rooms early; didnt sight Lever, nor Angus, Viney or Lewis; competitive drills where they had to clear the ball from a stoppage and get the ball to an outside runner who would deliver a pass to the leading forward coming out of the goal square, closely checked by a defender. Pruess vs May for much of the drill. Does that mean anything? May trained strongly, Oscar B was impressive in a contested drill where you had to work the ball through heavy traffic, get the ball to a coach and then try to smother his kick. Got the smother in everytime. While the key backs practiced punching high ball kicked into Rawlings with a pad on his back, the others did a session of goal kicking. It seemed to be just a free for all of set shots and snaps, no inkling of any coach working on set shot technique! I haven’t seen anyone working with our key forwards on technique and routine etc. must be old school. I watch Weid out 2 ones straight through from 45 dead in front, no issues there at practice but game day.... and watching the key backs in the punching drill there was no emphasis on punching the ball to the boundary side on the contest. They got complimented whether they punched it inboard or straight ahead...again I must be old school, (where is Anthony Ingerson these days)? That was about it for observations.
  14. Anyone know if we have engaged a specialist goal kicking coach yet? You know someone who might be able to improve technique and develop routines (that allow players to replicate that technique in all circumstances)for set shots! Goal kicking has cost us 3 games this season. Petracca is a classic case study, his ball drop on a set shot inside 45m can do anything with him often spinning the ball in his hands just prior, to stay loose I suppose?
  15. 6 Gawn 5 Oliver 4 Brayshaw 3 Jones 2 Viney 1 Frost
  16. Can’t kick goals end of story
  17. JKH first game this year after extended injury, love your empathySam.
  18. Had 2.3 kicked on him, yes that was the difference, NOT.
  19. Jenkins is big unit but I am sure you would have brought him down. We lost it in front of our own goal.
  20. Oscar had 2 goals kicked on him, not a great game but really. We lost it up forward, set shots missed, Max, Hunt, Smith, Weid, then dropped chest marks, Jeffy, the list goes on. The Crows had half the opportunities but nailed most of them. If you can’t finish you can’t win, it is that simple.
  21. If you can’t kick set shots from inside 40m what about 5 times in a match you cannot win!
  22. Umpires nearly gifted qCrows a goal there, not 15, play on for no reason leads to turn over.
  23. Looks like the Viney of Old so far.
  24. I was thinking Stretch was playing a role in defence and on the wing rather well. But there you go.
  25. How many so called holding frees can the crows be given?
