  1. Your last sentence doesn’t make much sense. All 3 players were regarded as elite forward talent when drafted. All 3 struggled at AFL level as forwards, 2 have since found their niche as defenders, the other is still struggling badly as a forward, is 25 years old with a year left on his contract. I’m looking at options to salvage something from a first round draft investment.
  2. I was suggesting we at least look at how he performs behind the ball, not necessarily as a lockdown defender on the opposition gorilla, more as the floating intercept defender. My dim memories of playing footy I remember competing in the air as a forward was much harder than as a defender where you don’t have someone off your left shoulder ready to punch the ball or more often your head. I note both Jeremy Howe and Darcy Moore were obvious forward talents, both struggled and now play in defence as intercept defenders.
  3. 6 Viney 5 Brayshaw 4 Fritsch 3 Petracca 2 Sparrow 1 Petty
  4. Should have been trialled as a key position backman since last year with the view to move Petty forward. He is not a key forward but has size and skills that can be utilised.
  5. Fingers crossed that Weideman stands up in the second half and clunks a couple of goals
  6. Next half of footy defines the rest of the season! Oliver has to break his tag.
  7. Interesting to see where Joel lines up. Steven May said he would be playing forward on Wednesday night in answer to a question about our lack of tall forward options.
  8. Melk wasn’t there and May was on the lemonaids.
  9. I am struggling with the rules. Hibberd went for the ball but because someone is running in it’s a free to them? I mean it’s not as if Hibberd is running straight at the opposing player and goes low front on. That’s where the rule started, to now where you can’t jump on the loose ball in the back line.
  10. No at a night with Lever & May at the Sporting Globe Bar. Good night and you get an insight into their personalities and what makes them tick as well as some goss.
  11. Really looking forward to Kozzie playing at CHF though and him crashing the packs to get the ball down to Weideman and when Max is resting forward!
  12. Steven May said Last night that J Smith will play forward this week for Casey
  13. I am assuming Brayshaw’s management & MFC are hanging on Jackson’s decision. If Jackson goes there is more MFC can offer if the want to in $ and length of contract. The AFL tradition of players not announcing mid season that their off to a new club, unlike the NRL, is stalling negotiations. I think Brayshaw wants to stay and LJ wants to go back home but it won’t be resolved til season end.
  14. All that info would be a bonus, I just wanted to know who was playing who if I tuned in when Rex was babbling about everything but the game and where every player had a nickname!
  15. First time I have witnessed that rule. Are we sure it exists?
  16. But even earlier why weren’t 17 Bombers lined up well behind their guy just in case he missed? The Pies took the kick out and waltzed it out of D50 to get it to Elliot.
  17. 6 Gawn 5 Brayshaw 4 Oliver 3 Fritsch 2 Sparrow 1 May
  18. Was on ABC Radio this afternoon talking footy and BBQ’s and meat preparation with Matt Preston! Said he hoped to have the screw removed from his foot in round 20 and though his foot would be stiffer he hoped to be involved in the finals.
  19. I would be asking where the midfield went in the last myself. We had chances at the end but just bombed it high. We don’t have pack crashing forwards Goody!
  20. Holding the ball not given then ANB penalised for holding his ground against a 195 cm defender coming over the top! Give me a break.
  21. Big second half from Tracc, Salem and Langdon please. Re this weeks umpire interpretation don’t fly for a mark unless you take it.
  22. False alarm, other track watchers reporting Fritsch is at training. Need to go to SpecSavers!
  23. Earl Hood replied to Romey's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I dropped by briefly and couldn’t sight Fritsch, so good to hear he was out there!
  24. Rode past training this morning Oliver, Brown, Lever all training seemingly unhindered. But I could not sight Fritsch? Weideman working with the forwards but that would be expected as he is listed as an emergency. Couldn’t stay long to totally confirm though.
  25. 6 Kossie 5 Langdon 4 Tracc 3 Viney 2 Jordan 1 Tomlinson
