2025 Grand Final
Umpires keeping the Cats in it.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 03
And that surely gives us hope that King can turn things around. We get enough of the ball and we get the inside 50’s to be competitive, if we start playing modern footy.

Danger!

And if they do, they will win the flag. It’s amazing they can keep playing these high pressure games without incurring injuries.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 03
I hope Viney, Oliver, Langdon and Co are watching this game and how the best sides are delivering the ball into their F50 to the advantage of their forwards! The Cats in that quarter, with their ball carriers in traffic, under pressure, were spotting up targets with 20 meter kicks. You don’t have to be a great kick to set up goals.

It’s outcome based isn’t it? Someone is concussed, someone must be guilty. That’s what happened to May.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 03
It’s a final so there is no such thing as a dangerous tackle.

We definitely need another agile small forward in addition to Kossie. We should have a crack at this guy.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
And if that issue is not addressed it won’t matter who we have up forward. I don’t know why Goodwin tolerated that long bombing/hack kicking forward by the experienced old guard for so long after he said he was trying to fix the so called lack of forward connection! There should have been consequences, experienced players dropped if they continued to kick long, burning players closer and in better positions. I hope King is very strong on this glaring flaw in our game style.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
I’m in, he doesn’t cost picks and we desperately need players who are natural instinctive forwards to improve our conversion rate and to mentor the younger forwards. Of course if our ball movement and delivery doesn’t improve nothing changes.

Gee don’t even try to tackle Rowell or you will give away a free.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
Unlike us they have been trading and drafting very efficiently and smartly and to a plan. Picking up cheap as chips trade bargains like Ginnivan, Chol D’Ambrosia, then pay full price for Barrass and Battle to go with early picks like Watson.

Imagine if his defender(s) actually played off his back shoulder instead of 5 meters away guarding grass.

Crows making some shocking blunders. Tex might be number one culprit, burning team mates and kicking points.

2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Have the Work Experience kids been put in charge of the night or something? Seriously this club rarely ceases to disappoint administratively. The Club dragged itself out of mediocrity for brief period with Peter Jackson and Paul Roos and the smooth transfer to Goodwin and brilliantly snaffled a flag in 2021 even as the wheels were falling off at the top end. It’s been a slow motion downward spiral since then.

CASEY: Semi Final vs Frankston
Try 3 picks. We traded 14, 27 and 35 to get three spots up the list to pick 11. That’s a big investment indicating they saw someone they were really confident in, Kolt or was it someone who went earlier?

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Yes what is the rule? The Suns guy took possession then gets tackled and the ball jars free but the tackler takes him away from the ball. It’s not holding the ball as he had no prior and not incorrect disposal but why is it holding the man when he had the ball?

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Yes and after we watched Hogan and Bedford kick 5 of the GWS 11 goals this arvo.

I have been abducted, taken to Sydney and forced to watch this game, dressed in Hawks colours! I can report that Jesse is looking very good in the warm up!

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
From what I read the agility test tries to determine a player’s speed to react to sudden changes and to make decisions. I suspect if you score well in what can be measured, with coaching and application you can be a good AFL player. To be a great player you probably excel in those areas that can’t be measured, can’t be coached and that includes the ability to predict where the ball is going in tight spaces before it does and the ability to predict the bounce of the ball, for example.

Umpires missing some obvious frees against the Pies, one right in the Crows goal square!

Nibbler best on at the moment! His hard ball gets and delivery into F50 has been excellent.

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Interesting thoughts about Kolt’s footy IQ. In theory or at least in testing this is a deficiency that can be addressed. Kolt in his draft combine came second in the agility test which when I investigated, it measures not just lateral movement but also speed of reaction and speed of decision making. That’s second in a draft that included Harley Reid, Nick Watson, Sanders, Windsor, Curtain and Wilson! Most of those guys are playing and keeping up with the pace. So if he is struggling at the moment in that area, his testing says his potential is very high and the issue can be addressed with coaching, training, more game time and attitude adjustment? On paper (draft testing and observation) we have a player with above average aggression, confidence, agility, decision making, endurance with adequate foot speed. It should work?
