  1. You need all types to make up a team and I reckon there's a bloke at Carlton who played nearly 400 games who played outside for most of his career, played in premierships and was considered a star at his club who had many similar attributes.
  2. Why thank Bails? I would have thought we should be thanking Barry Prendergast for putting the list together.
  3. I'm all for giving a bloke a second chance if he shows that he's learned and won't repeat his past sins. I just have a feeling that this kid might have used his second, third and fourth chances and in the current atmosphere around AFL clubs, he's in the same boat as Fevola, Lovett and possibly Tuck - untouchable.
  4. Take care jayceebee. You have no grounds for making that allegation. You should withdraw it.
  5. At 0/100 in the first innings we've doubled our score from the last innings played and haven't lost a wicket!
  6. Where would that figure have been published?
  7. Strange that. Aussie didn't even front his surgeon after his ankle operation. Can't see anyone wanting to draft someone with that attitude to his body.
  8. What people don't understand is that because GWS failed to recruit players in the middle bracket (22-26 years), they're left with not much. Scully is about all they have. There is no more. They need to use him as their front man, the problem being that he has no credibility and everything he says is now taken with more than a grain of suspicion. They dearly need someone else to fall their way in the draft.
  9. Correction. Spin doctor. SCULLY: HOW THE DEAL WENT DOWN IN HISTORY
  10. A leopard doesn't change his spots - Journos do your homework before opening your mouth Bags us over ending James McDonald's career at 34 but now overlooks the fact that Geelong allowed their own captain to go at 30. Lazy, hack journalist.
  11. i believe he was on SEN Breakfast this morning. Did anyone hear him?
  12. Yeah, and there were people at Geelong who said the same of Podsiadly and others at Dockerland who criticised the drafting of Michael Barlow.
  13. Simple, it's one player per club but if the club (in this case the Dogs) agrees then there can be more than one. The Doggies prefer the future pick as compensation rather than a current pick in a compromised and corrupted draft.
  14. Did I hear correctly that Matty Bate is keen on going to the Bulldogs who offered pick 39 for him and that we knocked it back saying we want a first rounder?
  15. A strange question to ask about a player who injured his acl in late April and won't be available to play until Round 10 next year. I don't think we'll get Clark but if we do then Spencer will most certainly become surplus to our requirements and, while I wouldn't call him a "sweetener", he might be the right type for inclusion in the deal somewhere.
  16. I liked the way he came back after the night club incident earlier in the year and knuckled down to play good footy and remain an on field leader. That said, his indiscretion might have ruled out the possibility of him becoming a club captain.
  17. Jackson Paine is a 194cm key position player who is versatile and can play forward and midfield. Strong hands and showed out in the national under 18 championships and Sunday's TAC Cup grand final. Sounds like he would be around at pick 12.
  18. I just wonder about the wisdom of playing him at Casey next year instead of with the Oakleigh Chargers. I believe he'll be doing school year 12 so there'll be plenty of pressure from that area as well as completing school team commitments and trying to live the normal life of a teenager. It won't be easy.
  19. Judging by the lack of comments, it seems that there's not much love here for Flash Davey. The bloke has one poor season and it seems that it's all over. Give him a break!
  20. You can plug the Russian as much as you want. He's on the LTI, he's grown a beard and he's gone into hibernation. He can't play until after Round 7 and by then will need 2 or 3 weeks at least to get match fit in the VFL. In the meantime, we have a bit of a dilemma if we're going to give Meesen a try - unless we use PJ as a KPP. I don't think Bailey's going to go that way so I would suggest the least experienced ruckman in Spence might have to go back to the VFL for a while. Won't hurt him IMO.
  21. If one of those two ruckmen with AFL experience was Browne then his experience was vary limited. He was on the ground in his debut last week for only 30% of the time and his team got flogged.
  22. The bloke's always a pest when we play them. Is there anyone who saw the incident and do you think the match review dudes will remove him from next Sunday's game against us? MOTLOP ON REPORT
  23. Great summary - good choice of best players!
  24. Have a look at the AFL fixture and tell me whether there's any integrity involved in this competition.
