40 Man All-Australian Squad
Genuine question. Did Matt Taberner suddenly turn into a footballer? He's made the squad and I don't recall him having much ability, but haven't really seen him this year or heard any hype about break-out years etc. Cheers Yes, cant think of a single reason why May didn't get a gig - preposterous!

Have a beer for us Jack! The forecast sounds great. We need to smash Essendon, which isn't out of the question unless we spend three quarters dithering, like we did against Sydney and Heave ho.

No, you're changing your argument.

None of the equivalents at Brisbane, Sydney, West Coast and Port have played for their respective clubs. Most of them are doing orright! There are probably more clubs but I cant be bothered looking them up.

I wish we could say the same about us on the rebound of a loss.............. but no ?- POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Fremantle
Lever is a shadow of his former self. He can still take an intercept grab, but TBO, I cant see much else to his game other than a giant moustache and a dearth of confidence. And another thing.... why is Max Gawn allowed to kick? There isn't a shred of evidence that he can actually kick, so why does he continually refuse to give it off to the few players than can kick the footy. Astounding!- POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Fremantle

I think Jake Melksham is a smart and incredibly talented footballer. Believe it, or not, he straightens us up in the forward line and directs traffic. The way he wrong foots the opposition is sublime. I was initially impressed that he (uncharacteristically) didn't whinge about a free kick paid against him during tonight's game. I also get that he's there to create opportunities and does this with aplomb. Notwithstanding this, he can go and get [censored]. His pressure is lamentable and has been all year. If he's injured, even more reason to [censored] off and rest up. I would rather he be managed than serve up this utter [censored].- CHANGES: Rd 16 vs Fremantle

I can tell you what Allan Richardson brings to the team. He brings insight on how to beat St Kilda. That's about it. Suddenly we had a team with a plan. They played completely the opposite of how they played tonight. They played with composure and controlled the tempo and knew what they had to do to beat them. Fast forward to today and they played with zero composure, didn't adjust for the conditions and panicked. Furthermore, they got utterly sucked in by the Swans game plan - great idea to keep running the ball out of bounds and restart play when we need to play attacking footy and narrow the gap. I think we relatively are high on footy talent but scrape the bottom of the barrel when it comes to footy intelligence. Then there are the selection issues.- CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Sydney
Fair point. He just looked proppy to me and I didn't think he could recover / improve in that time frame with another game to shortly follow.- CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Sydney
Out: Gawn (managed) O'Mac (omitted/no match-up) Hibberd (Inj) AVB (managed) In: Preuss, Lockhart, Harmes, Fritsch I just cannot see any reason to want Gawn and his dodgy knee front up for 3 games in 11 days. We could go further and rest Pickett for Bedford or ANB, even though ANB makes me nervous- TEAMS: Rd 14 vs St. Kilda
Maybe his housemates are Wagner and O'Mac- CHANGES: Rd 14 vs St Kilda
A forward line with Bennell, Melksham and Fritsch would result in forward pressure somewhere between zero and token.- Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
I'm not sure I could stand watching him stop dead after a missed mark and check his hands are still there, again.- Adams and Buckley praise AVB

IIRC Preuss shed a heap of weight over the preseason and the mission was to get his aerobic fitness up to scratch. This was all going to plan until the injury. I would assume, even with the injury lay-off, his fitness base is far superior to last year when he wasn't even getting to ruck contests. I think he plays and a) bashes up Grundy or b) at least is in the same stratosphere as Cox if he is Grundy's replacement.- The 2020 Trade Period
We don't even know the list size yet do we? We could be cutting a number of players first. - CHANGES: Rd 17 vs GWS
