Agreed. I thought earlier in the year his game was error-ridden but he's looking a lot more composed with the footy now and confident as a result.

I have that same superpower Spurs! It's marvelous to be able to tune out of the commentary. I just hear the names of the players amongst the waffle. Every now and again something particularly irritating uttered by the clowns manages to slip through the force field though.- VOTES: Rd 17 vs St Kilda

I disagree and think it was just May getting his comeuppance for being sloshed and arrogant. I'm hoping the players aren't becoming frustrated or disenchanted with their form over the last month. Most of all I hope they're still 'buying in.' How's the vibe at training @kev martin? For those going to the game, it would be great to know if the boys are chirping it up on the field.- Taj Woewodin Set to Debut
Given our tradition of jumper presentations, I wonder if it will be Woey Senior or maybe Mark Jamar? Either would be great.- PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda

That's the spirit!- The Kalani White Thread (F/S)
There's no way he goes to the Suns right? From The Age today: Jeff Whiteโs 16-year-old son Kalani turned heads playing at full-back for Gold Coastโs Academy, while Mick McGuaneโs son Thomas, Jade Greshamโs brother Tyson, Troy Longmuirโs son Taj, and Bodhi Uwlandโs brother Zeke also played. White, who is already 197 centimetres tall and super athletic like his No.1 pick dad, is father-son eligible for Melbourne but also tied to the Suns, so a fight to sign him looms. The ex-Demonโs twin sons, Kai and Tahj, are also showing promise in the under-12s, including the former being selected for the state team.- PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda

Agree JVR rested by not having to travel. Might be back in for the Saints. In and out of the game but had his moments. Jefferson - can take a decent grab and a ripper kick (including field kicking), but still a way off - yet to apply much pressure to the opposition. JJ had a great game and will push for selection again. Particularly strong first half with the Giants giving him plenty of room. Verrall - didn't take the field after half time. Hope it's not another injury.- PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
Jefferson? I appreciate your training reports but have you even seen him play? He had a good game today by his standards - not many touches, not very involved but a good effort with 4 goals. I discovered last week and today that he's also an excellent field kick. Having said that, he's miles far off a senior game. He's a stick insect and will need time to build up his body and application for AFL level.- POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Watching the game last week against Geelong, I thought Geelong's pressure was implied. It was there but not fierce until the last quarter. The more the game progressed, the more I thought it was deliberate/planned by Scott - just keep the pressure up and watch them run themselves into the ground. As it turned out, we expended a ridiculous amount of energy for little reward and Geelong easily ran over the top of us when they turned up the heat in the last. Today, in the first three quarters we were again winning everywhere but on the scoreboard. We expended the same stupendous amount of energy for even less reward. We put ourselves under absurd pressure and got absolutely nowhere. GWS applied plenty more pressure than Geelong today, but I'm not sure we noticed as we were too busy running around in circles.- Where will the revenue come from?

Agree! He's ready and much needed.- Five most improved players
In no particular order: McVee - Who'd a thunk? Apart from excellent disposal under pressure, this dude manages to extract himself and the footy from the most unlikely situations. His hand-eye coordination must be off the charts. He seems to always manage to paddle or toe-poke the loose pill away from his opponent. I love watching him in action. JVR - He keeps presenting and presenting and his follow-up is excellent. He's slotting them too and will get more rewards for his efforts in time. Rivers - He's taken his game to another level after what I'm sure he'd consider a disappointing 2022. Unfortunately his kicking hasn't followed suit, but I'm super excited about where his game is headed. Loving his intercept marks! Chandler - his stats indicate he's doing everything he should except slot them (Thanks Wheelo!). He's just got the yips and will be fine. His early games were outstanding (another Who'd a thunk?). He's a clever player and will get back to his best. Salem - A level above his form over 2021 and 22. We've got the old creative, slick Salo back!- 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Ryley Sanders and Darcy Wilson might fall around Freo's first pick. Any thoughts on them? I'm in the 'we need more mids' camp.- Collingwood at Kardinia Park
