  1. PICKETT ISN'T READY AND WONT PLAY!!!! P.Johnson no, Holland No... go small HF: Bruce, Miller, Bate F: Davey, Sylvia, Yze. Yze deserves a chance to play one out deep all game, same with slyvia and ND has to get Davey back to what he was doing in 2004-2005.. crumbing as a permanent forward!! how bloody obvious is it ND??? This forward line is the most logical because Yze, Sylvia are very good one out and it's probably our most dangerous set up we can put out there and still has a potent look about it.... Bizz in for Wheatley to play the floating back role, not the FULL FORWARD ROLE.... Carroll vs Ablett, Rivers vs Mooney, Holland vs Ottens/Hawkins and bizz to play floater or 4th tall back if they have blake on and have Hawkins, Ablett, Mooney and Ottens down there at the one time. simple guys
  2. I am all for the young kids to be played this year like many of the bottom sides did last year, get the games into them for next year, let's be realistic people we will win maximum 2 of the next 6 if we are lucky that leaves us at 2-6 with a lot of interstate trips still to go.... Will it dent the kids confidence?? Maybe but i'd rather let them play and see what happens, while it won't happen because dropping Brown, Godfrey would seem harsh after they played ok... in reality it should happen if we want a more competitive team next year Bizz will probably play this week but i'd prefer him floating down back and driving the ball out of defence... i'd like to see Bizz and Riv play more together...... Yze should be brought back simply due to lack of options and i'm sure if you sat him deep all game he would snag a much needed 3-4 goals..... same with Sylvia these 2 are great for their height at marking the ball.. have Davey right at their feet... the last thing we need is an immobile forward line so throwing Holland/PJ or Ferg down there won't help. HF: Bate, Miller, Bruce F: Davey, Sylvia, Yze I woulnt mind seeing Newton given a go but ND simply doesn't seem to take those chances...... If i had my way id play Newton, Pettard, CJ all year and let them develop, while throwing in a few games to Garland/Weetra if form warranted.
  3. Daniher doesn't EVER EVER make 6-7 changes so don't expect things to change..... OUT: Robbo (inj) Neitz (Inj) Wheatley (useless at afl level) CJ IN : Sylvia (full forward) Yze (right next to him) Holland (will definately be in for matchups) OK HERE ARE MATCHUPS Carroll vs Nathan Ablett Rivers vs Mooney Holland vs Ottens Bizzel in if they play Hawkins, Mooney, Ablett and Mooney all at one time, we simply rotate CARROLL, RIVERS, HOLLAND, BIZZ to whoever we want to match... I'd nearly out Ferg in but you can't have Ferg and Holland i think... need a bit more drive so both can't play which means Bizzel gets a gig..... I think it simply can't just be Rivers, Carroll, Holland.. ND will have to bring in one more of Bizz/Ferg so lets hope Bizz gets a chance finally.... As for Cj he is stiff but he needs a game or two at Sandy to find the football and hopefully come back and build on that promising preseason, wheatley enough said he is soft and not up to Afl Standard when the heat is on. Godfrey and Brown did enough to keep their spots, they can't be dropped i guess they at least had a dip. Sylvia and Yze must be brought in, dunn and pickett simply aren't ready.... HF: Bruce, Miller, Bate F: Davey, Sylvia, Yze. Tell me that forward pocket line isn't what we should go...?? Sure Davey has been poor so far but his endevour alone Monday keeps him in as he kept trying all game, Yze has been taught a lesson we simply need goals and he can provide if played deep all game as he loves being one out down there, same goes with Sylvia he loves playing as a main man down there.. here's his chance... The half forward line is the best we can muster basically, Bruce will play on Ball, Miller and Bate need to lift and get the ball in long to the potential match winners in Sylvia, Davey, YZE. OUT: Robbo (inj) Neitz (Inj) Wheatle, CJ IN : Sylvia Yze Holland, FERG/Bizz tell me i shouldn't be a selector seriously.
  4. I am telling you get on the hawks at $2.40 i can't believe these odds i think it is a 50-50 game even slightly hawks way as i think they have much more run than us.... BROWN, GODFREY, WHEATLEY in same side= trouble.... how you choose godfrey over Bizzel astounds me..... sure he might tag someone but id rather back ourselves and put Wheatley on the wing and use Bizzel down back.... instead of having both godfrey and brown in the same team.... Hawks by 6 goals... get on at the juicy odds... i am not ashamed to say i have as a dees fan....
  5. well i just had a look at yesterdays herald sun and i can't believe only 1 tipper has gone Hawks... i would have them as just about favourites if i was a bagman... maybe dees $1.70 dees $2 or something.... the hawks tend to play well against us and Franklin WILL trouble us.... hope i am wrong.... great to see the biz in.!!
  6. Guys guys guys, you are getting carried away with this whole "Ben Holland had 20 touches and 10 marks" the guy totally looks lost every time he has the ball and definately does ruin our drive with his slowness and poor disposal... Sure he is ok when there is a lot of talls in the opposing forward line but even then i wouldn't pick him i'd prefer to blood Warnock or go with Bizzel who can play tall, i just don't think Holland is good enough for the modern game even if he did do some admirable jobs last year.... As for Brown, Godfrey.... if one of these guys plays i will cut sick... once again i know Nathan Brown was great for us a few years ago but now he has very little to offer.. sure he can get 20 touches running around out of the backline but he turns it over much more than he use to and also doesn't ever kick further than 40 m..... Bizzel while also not proving form for a long time can still offer a solid service across the back as a floating back... but we have better more promising prospects than Nathan Brown for his role like Bell and CJ.. who must stay in if we ever want a good team in 2-3 years... Godfrey enough said, should never be in as we have bartram and jmac who can play lock down roles..... If CJ gets dropped i will also spew.... he still did ok last week sold himself into trouble a few times but i think he should be played permanent wing and they move Bizzel or Wheatley to the backline. IN COMES WHEATLEY to play CJ'S back role so it moves CJ up the ground to use his great disposal game more often to Neitz, Robbo etc... IN COMES BIZZEL to play Holland's role as he gives much more drive and deserves a shot at getting some form back. DAVEY AND YZE to play permanent forwardline ALL GAME... not getting soft kicks around the ground where they do no damage... i think my game plan is the one that would get the best results... who agrees here... i am sure ND will go totally the wrong way.
  7. We should bring in Bizzel for Holland.... Holland just gives us no drive as soon as he is given the ball any forward thrust is slowed up and his kicks always go to a dangerous situation.. Bizzel played his best footy 2002/2003 when given the responsibility of playing on a much taller player and running off..... at the moment we seriously lack drive from the backline bring in Bizzel and Rivers, those of you who said CJ should be dropped are wrong.. sure he wasnt great but i think he needs to be played on the wing... he was all over the shop last night forward and back but never on the wing. OUT: MCLEAN, WHELAN, HOLLAND IN: BIZZEL, RIVERS, PICKETT Under no circumstances should Nathan Brown be in.. he is just like Ward but can only kick 40 metres so stick with Ward who wasn't too bad last night....
  8. Definately get the cheap 90,000 draftees on your bench..... find the ones that will get a gig in their teams 22 like Alwyn Davey, Selwood (cats) Krakouer (Port) Ellis (hawks)... whack them on your bench and if you cop an injury they can fill in and score a handy 50 points which is better than trading off a gun player if he gets injured or suspended for 1-2 weeks.... My only worry is my last starting back in Ellis, Jesse Smith or Tim Boyle... i am pretty sure 1 or 2 of them will play round 1 and hopefully if i can get 50 points from them each week i will be happy.. not every player can get you 80-100 every week... MY STARTING TEAM BACKS : C.CORNES, SINCLAIR, MCMAHON WALKER , RAINED, CHRIS JOHNSON (DEES), X. ELLIS CENTRES: MITCHELL, HODGE, BLACK, SHERMAN, M. MUPRHY, N. LAPPIN RUCKS: D. COX, A. SANDILANDS FORWARDS: B.JOHNSON, M.PAVLICH, B. HALL G. ABLETT, K. PETTIFER, L. FRANKLIN, ALWYN DAVEY BENCH BACKS: JESSE SMITH, TIM BOYLE BENCH CENTRES: JOEL SELWOOD (CATS) B. MUSTON (HAWKS) BENCH RUCKS: GRIFFIN (ADELAIDE) RENOUF (HAWKS) BENCH FORWARDS: NATHAN KRAKOUR (PORT) AARON EDWARDS (NORTH) AS you can see i went pretty strong in the middle without blowing the budget on judd or goodes... also went strong in the ruck.. risk is my backups arent great but could be ok if as predicted they play....
  9. Why does that team look so depleted Occo... i know a few are out but howd Warnock and Godfrey get into the 22... Surely Bizz ahead of Warnock.. and someone younger instead of Godfrey??? SURELY:) PLEASE LOL
  10. I hope the Biz is in.... he is still great value and can provide lots of rebound out of the backline.. if he plays and has a good game... it wont be easy for ND to drop him. Good Luck Biz, i still got faith in you!
  11. Hey guys just wondering if the dees are training later this week and if so where and what time? got a mate down from sydney who wants to get his Robbo 24 jumper signed! thanks
  12. well the game is starting is anyone doing updates online? thanks
  13. How old did Danners look but in the article the other day about waiting for a contract... looks like hes aged 10 years over summer~!!
  14. While not too concerned about the result, i bloody hope this handball happy game plan is scrapped!!! Need to get back to the early 2005 style of long direct football with hard running where we were all the rage... running in numbers from the backline with handballs but not too many,, remember when we beat geelong on a friday night i think it was round 2, 2005.... thats the type of footy we have to play
  15. dont anyone try to actually say they would prefer Holland over a fit Bizzel.... sure Holland was great last year but Bizzel gives much more drive and can still play tallish... not on the giants like Holland but you'd pick Bizzel basically every time I think he can return to our 22 no doubt.... lets give him a chance before you write him off! good luck Biz
  16. that goood to hear!! he will really add great depth and variation to our midfield if fit!! is most definately in our best 18 going by 2005 form!! this could be our year if everyone stays on the park, especially with the youngsters like Bate, Mclean, Jones really ready to make a big impact this year, well Mclean already has, but Jones/Bate should be great this year!! go dees.
  17. yeh definately man, i said this last ashes series. spot on
