Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
BrisbaneDemon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Highly intelligent young man, a great deep thinker, understands culture and football, loves the Melbourne football club. I vote #1 Angus Brayshaw for president of the MFC -
The pies targeted Ed Langdon because he said they were “all duck no dinner”. Petracca shook Maynard’s hand and tapped him on the bum after knocking Brayshaw out and he was medically retired. Taking off my red and blue coloured glasses, that was the weakest, most spineless response by a professional team I can remember. If Tom McDonald knocked out Pendles, he would have been hit all game. if you continue to stand for nothing, you become nothing. 2021 with “selfless” the next three years was selfish.

Nibbler…..
-
It’s need to be both. We did that so well to get the 21 premiership, you simply cannot go all draft or all trade. the last three years our lift has continued to get worse, it needs to massively improve this year, get it right Tim Lamb, or fall on your sword and get someone else capable.
-
Nibbler leaving is not on Lamb, finding a better replacement or even matching nibbler is on Lamb. Personally since 2021, our list has continued to get worse, our trade in replacements haven’t worked and have made us a lesser team,
-
The scary thing is we continue to let talent leave the club and we’re not bettering or even matching that talent level. All our role players and depth has left I.e Bedford, hunt, pig retiring, Jordan, Jetta retiring, Jones retiring, Guy retiring, LJ leaving. if the club continues to let Tim Lamb decimate the playing list by not replacing experienced players, we’ll continue to be bottom 4 and fighting with Tassie like we did with GC and GWS. this is [censored] depressing….

Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement

It appears that Gus was our spiritual leader within the club (I.e. Selwood to the cats). I really hope that the sports psychologists are heavily involved with the team, we certainly cannot replace Gus, but the team certainly needs to work through not having him within the 4 walls of the club. -
Can’t go out in straight sets if we don’t make finals….
-
Worried about Steven May, just hoping it’s a form slump and not Father Time catching up to him. Has been well below his high standards this year.
-
Billing’s and Laurie shouldn’t be picked, they’re not AFL standard, we cannot continue to carry players like these two.
-
Can we trade Lamb for Sydney’s list manager? Swans have done a fantastic job (helped by the academy) but the pieces they have added has been a masterstroke (with depth might I add).

Plenty of other teams have lost their best player and still been competitive. Look at our forward pressure over the past 5 weeks, opposition teams just stroll out now under zero pressure, out of the bottom 15 players on the field tonight 10 were Melbourne against a team that has won one game this year.
-
So many playing bruise free footy tonight, just going at the hard ball half hearted, 5 weeks ago we lost to the blues by a point and look how far we have fallen….
-
We’re in such a hole, how is our forward line getting worse. Clarry gave away 5 free kicks tonight, $1 million a year he is being paid by us, what an absolute joke. estatic I’m going to the game next week…..
-
TDK would look amazing in Navy Blue and Red, can play forward and kick goals, out of contract at the end of 2025
-
The Petty forward experiment feels like the Frawley forward experiment, he’s gone at seasons end and we’re planning for the future without him, there is absolutely no other reason to think it’s going to click as a forward, if he has some break out games it boosts his trade value to the Crows. unfortunately I watched the Kings birthday game live, the lack of pressure and all round care from everyone apart from Max, Trac, ANB, Viney was heartbreaking. It doesn’t take skill to chase and tackle, we don’t appear to be playing for the jumper which I haven’t thought since 2019

I was at the game tonight, flew down with some mates (Geelong supporters) I potted TMAC a couple of weeks ago and he was outstanding tonight! I take back everything I said about him. We were right behind Frittas dribble goal and I apologise to no one after the carrying on I displayed to my mates and every one in the area. Clarry looked so disinterested in the first qtr but geez he got going late in the game! [censored] you Geelong!

Petty takes his spot in the backline, point 1
-
- Petty to return to the back line were he belongs and contributes. - BBB back forward - tmac out of the team - Young Woey back to Casey - Trac, Oliver, Viney need a big week next week, playing well below par

Dees Could Become ‘One of the Worst One-Hit Wonders’
BrisbaneDemon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We’re never out of it with Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Lever, Gawn, May, Kozzy in the team. yes we have had issues off field but our issue has been injuries since 2021, when you pay a fortune for two forwards that cannot stay on the park (Brown and McDonald) you’re always up against it. list management is how you continually show up and perform, losing Gus is like losing Selwood to the cats, he cannot be replaced, I have doubts on this year because of the loss of Gus and not what happened over the preseason. We could potentially have $2.2-$2.5 (loss of Gus, BBB, T-Mac) in cap room next yeah, we we can bring in a decent forward, back and ruck to help supplement our older guys, we’re hanging around the top four until Viney retires. Lamb has the biggest job next offseason, if he isn’t working the room of every other club this year, yes we will be a one hit wonder, if he can add some pieces around Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Lever, JVR, Kozzy look out. I think we’ll miss finals this year and really draft and trade in heavily next year. Goody was very “us vs the world” in his Gus tribute, I got the feeling he was trying to convince the players more then the supporters base. Im there round 0 cheering on the boys! -
