I actually thought it was to do with maximising crowds travelling from Sydney for Friday night / Saturday afternoon.

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Stiff Arm's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couldn’t agree more Jaded, I currently live in Sydney but am originally from Melbourne. This year is my 19th as a Redleg and my wife’s 2nd. We love sitting level 2 behind the goals (seen some great marks taken over the years) and when the ball goes up the other end we have TV’s to see the play. If we bring guests from opposing clubs we can sit level 2A. Last week we got two free tickets from the club to attend the Swans game all be it they weren’t the greatest seats IMO, but still grateful. Access to the function rooms plus quicker turn around when using the bathroom. I normally sit Level 2, N3 -N4 which is for Redlegs with non reserved seats. Yesterday I got seats in N2. If it’s an affordable option it’s definitely worth it. -

Now that’s over…. Had a mini heart attack, after going to purchase my tickets it took me to the select seats screen again, I re entered my barcodes 3 times but it wouldn’t accept them, then I thought it won’t because they’ve already been used. So then I hit the arrow to go back which was a risk but after going back 2 times there were my tickets, level 2, section N2 behind the goals. Pretty much where I sit during the H&A season. Feeling blessed right now. -

Evening @WalkingCivilWar, was it just me or did the Swans have their supporters behind both goal’s yesterday? Does this happen at other grounds? Thanks -

Thanks, you’ve answered my question. I’d like to think if for example you’ve sat level 2 all year that that’s where your tickets will be allocated from. Here’s hoping…. -

I’m talking about this year. I’m planning on going next Thursday but not again until the GF should we make it. If I was to share my barcode for the preliminary they could then try and use it for the GF. -

Do we receive a different barcode for each game? During Covid in 2021 we were encouraged to share our barcode’s which I did. If i attend next Thursday night and assuming we win I don’t go to the preliminary but plan on going to the GF, if I’ve shared my barcode to someone what’s to stop them trying to use it for GF tickets should we make it? -

I thought last year was premium members had a 2 hour window before other members to purchase their tickets? I could of had that wrong though. -
Garbage. If swans had won yesterday’s and had a home final it would be different. The AFL is worried how supporters from GWS and Swans would travel on a Thursday. Yet Sydney based Dees supporters are expected to….

No idea but it’s two Melbourne based clubs so members won’t be able to get multiple tickets. Last year we played Swans / Lions so both interstate clubs. -
Not wanting to sound ungrateful but attending a game in Sydney is so different from Melbourne. It’s as if only half the people are there to actually watch the game. The other half (groups of men, groups of woman, parents with kids, kids by themselves) are constantly in and out of their seats during the game, standing in the walkways, back and fourth for drinks, photo opportunities with other families. At one point a man who was constantly going to the bar stopped in front of wife mid game to talk to someone in the row in front of us, we were the first two seats of that row so he could have just passed us to have the chat whilst standing in the aisle but decided to stand in front of us and lean over. One group didn’t even come to their seats until early in the 3rd. Grateful to the club for the free tickets but next time I’d rather pay and sit up higher, ground level, fwd pocket at that ground is not great for viewing. Really need to watch the replay on Kayo. Did the Swans have their supporters behind both goals? It seemed that way. Absolutely gutted for Melksham.

What a cracking day here in Sydney, been looking fwd to this all year, slightly disappointed it may be a dead rubber but we’ll take it as there was no game in Sydney last year. Excited to see how our fwd line will operate, all of our fwds on their day throughout the season have kicked multiple goals. Both Fritsch and Melksham should prove a headache for the opposition.
