  1. Spot on Macca, I tuned in to watch both races and the winners would just not give in. I didn't have anything going but was cheering for you and Wadda. Until next week.
  2. Made a mess of them, in the end Oohood paid $3.00 the place and Written By $5.40 on the tote. Comprehensive win!
  3. The Weir pair. Great win Brave Smash. My first winner.?
  4. They came late for it. I saw a 2k bet just before the jump at $4.00. Nice collect for that punter.
  5. Still alive here, took a system 3 also, no margin for error from here though. Disappointing run from Smart Coupe.
  6. Good win Sunlight! Looks like Santos has a challenger for the Golden Slipper.
  7. Yes, just placed the multi with a place selection included at the Tab. Happy Punting guys!!!
  8. Good morning Wadda. Ace High the place is as good a bet as any today. Current odds. Show A Star - $3.00 (W) D77 Sunlight - $2.80 (W) Macca Ace High- $4.90 (P) Wadda @binman Insert here. Multi price: $41.16
  9. That's the plan tomorrow Macca. I'll get to the local early enough and put a few of them on for the Caulfield races. If we're lucky enough to get a collect while watching our boys run around it will be a decent one like you stated. Smart Coupe is every chance too as previously stated, going back to the Caulfield review of two weeks ago the panel marked her as one to look out for next run. Missing the start was unlike her last time time in.
  10. Tough day coming up tomorrow but we all like a challenge. Best Bet- Rosehill R2 No.1- Show A Star. Fixed odds $3.00 This race lacks depth and the horse will carry 55kg after the claim. The smallish field will enable the horse to get to the front without too much pressure (hopefully) and could be hard to run down again. Show A Star was also nominated for Race 6 at Rosehill where the horse was weighted at 53.5kg. The fact they chose Race 2 made me lean towards him as the "Best". Best Roughie - Caulfield R2 No.6 Belfast. Fixed odds- $ 12.00 W $3.40P Blue Diamond Pick- No.16 Oohood. Fixed. $7.00W $2.75P Still a Maiden ( should be unbeaten) but has been beaten by less than a length all 3 starts. Likes to settle mid/rear and can finish strongly as seen in all runs to date. If Currie is lucky enough to slot into a good position from 10 and get some cover, with a genuinely hot pace she could run over the top of them.
  11. Going early is probably a good way to do it this week Macca. Pick it and stick to it. I've just gone through the Melbourne and Sydney fields and the racing certainly cranks up this week. The Oakleigh Plate is a cracking race, the horse I liked for the Blue Diamond has drawn the car park (Written By 18). The Hartnell race is a tricky one. Gailo Chop and Single Gaze look like serious players in that one. Brave Smash stands out as the one so far in the Futurity to me. Show A Star in Sydney has drawn barrier 11. The way it won its last two starts suggests they will push to the lead from the jump, the barrier shouldn't be that much of a concern though as his tactical speed is good. I just noticed an early scratching so barrier 10 now. I will study over the next two days and wait for scratchings and declare on Saturday morning. Wow, too much going on this Saturday, might have to venture down to the local and catch the footy and the racing without channel flicking.
  12. Redkirk Warrior is currently $8.00 for the Newmarket. Equal favourites are Merchant Navy and Redzel (Doubtful) at $5.50. Nice pick by your work colleague. Some of these betting agencies make you turn over the winnings from bonus bets prior to withdrawal which is a pain in the backside.
  13. Today I played the 4 combos x3. Lol, of course we'd get two. Can't complain though, Santos made me a small profit. Maybe with a slightly easier run Cliff's Edge wins. In the Apollo I had Global Glamour to win straight out, she ran well considering she put a quick pace on up front. Redkirk Warrior is a specialist first-up horse down the straight but I couldn't see Redzel losing. It flew home.
  14. It looked like something happened to Deploy the way it stopped. Finished a bad last. Cliff's Edge was very game sitting 3 wide the whole trip and only tiring the last 50m after kicking away early in the straight.
  15. Nice pick Binman, it got smashed late in the betting.
  16. Best longshot. Flem Race 9 No.1 He's Our Rokkii.
  17. Sheesh, it won well, they told me it was primed for a first-up run but that was impressive. Hopefully for my mate, it guides them towards the Golden Slipper. Spewing you missed it Wadda, I had a small each way bet on it.
  18. Definite chance in my opinion, up in class but looks a promising galloper. Santos up in 5 mins.
  19. Are you still celebrating last nights triumph Wadda?? 3.01pm for the first leg.
  20. Best Bet. Randwick Race 8 No. 3 Alizee $1.80. I struggled to find anything at longer odds. Alizee is definitely a class above her rivals and is well weighted. She trialled well recently and I believe she will be hard to beat. It's probably a bit silly not to declare Redzel as my "Best" as the horse is the same odds as Alizee but my record with straight races isn't very good. Edit: Sorry Macca, quoted you by mistake.
  21. Same here Wadda, the Flemington card is not appealing at the moment. Santos is in race 2 at Randwick. Currently a $5 chance. Although it's a very strong 2yr old race with the main two players being Irish Bet (1) and Legend of Condor (2) the horse is well and truly ready to go. That's the latest on the horse for anyone that decides this race is worth a flutter. https://www.racenet.com.au/racing-form-guide/randwick-20180217/the-luxury-network-pierro-plate-race-2
  22. Yes Macca, I'll be having a keen look early as well. Santos is nominated at Randwick in the Pierro Plate. Will know by tomorrow either way but my mate tells me they should accept. That race will be a difficult one to pick. First starters and a few with one or two starts max. I'm only interested to see how Santos races but in saying that, one of the horses nominated (Irish Bet) won a $500,000 race in its only start back in December.
  23. It will take something special to beat Redzel. I thought our input worked well last weekend with four of us but I do agree with your earlier point of too many selections. It does become a little unworkable. So far it is working really well, I just need to collect once. ?
  24. I'm happy with a maximum of 4 Macca for the best bets although I'm open to more members joining the fun. The various thoughts on weekend racing makes me look a little deeper into races that I might have skipped in the past. After @binman put his selections through it made me have a look at 'Itz Invincible' and I liked it. If two horses stand out to someone and one of them is at decent odds maybe the member can declare a second horse as an "Each Way" special.
  25. Nail on head Wadda! I rarely ever throw a soccer leg in a multi mixed with other sports. The double chance option ( win/draw) maybe, even then the odds are too short. My soccer multis are basically over 2.5 goals each game. High scoring leagues such as the Dutch league, I often throw a 6-8 leg over 2.5 goals multi and hope for the best. I'm finding head to head soccer multis extremely difficult. For example a team placed 6th in League 1 of England was playing the bottom placed team at home. The odds for the 6th placed team was $2.00 and automatically you think that's great odds, they should win yeah, but then you stop and ask yourself, what do the bookies know that I don't? This team should be $1.50-$1.70. Long story short, the result 2-2. Multi gone.
