The 2019 fixture
I’m assuming our Anzac eve match next year would be the opening game for the round. If so, we wouldn’t need to play Essendon the week after like the last two years. The Melb V ESS fixture and possibly a Coll V Rich could be played on Thursday/Friday night the week before.

A Day at the Races
They really need to introduce winter racing on Friday nights at the Valley. Beats watching some of these horror Friday night AFL games. Forgot to mention earlier. The boys from work have a runner tomorrow at Morphetville Race 6 Number 5 Captain Harry ($7.50). It ran a couple of weeks ago at Caulfield where it failed. Again, maybe just an interest runner simply because the Weir factor and choosing to take the horse to Adelaide.

Threat to runners
Runners should be used after goals for a quick message. Lewis on 360 stated players that come back on after a quick spell pass messages on to teammates.

Round 18 - Non MFC games
Unfortunately if we start dropping games we have no choice but to rely on teams doing us favours to stay in the 8. My point is, after relying on one particular team to complete R23 last year which that alone was bad enough, I don’t think many of us would be able to handle 4-5 weeks of needing non- MFC games to go our way. Curious as to how many of us would have taken a 10-6 record after 16 rounds at the start of the season? And to think we could still miss....?

Round 18 - Non MFC games
Why forget the top 4? If we win, there’s a possibility we could be in there by the end of the weekend. I’d prefer results that favour us for top 4 than losing and relying on other teams to keep 8th spot alive for us.

When we beat Geelong, I will...
I will look forward to the 3 word analysis of Tyson.

Round 18 - Non MFC games
If we are to win, I’d want North and GWS to win and that propels us into the top 4.

Hibberd Ruled Out of Cats Clash with Quad
That’s some good news if that’s the case Rusty. Misson’s report stated he hurt his quad in the ‘extras’ session after the main was completed. Aarghhh!! Hibbo as seen on the news footage that morning still managed to stop for a young fan’s autograph request on his limping way back to AAMI.

A Day at the Races
That would be some win if we can get up tomorrow night Wadda. I notice the Dees have the wobbles in the markets after Hibbo’s quad injury. The races have been somewhat of a grind this winter, a couple of winners here and there have kept the ledger even to a degree. Bring on the spring I say. As @Macca stated - We’re due! A Best Bet multi win and a Dees win down at Sleepy Hollow? I’d like to see that!

A Day at the Races
Best Bet: Randwick R7 No3 - I Thought So $4.00 This is a very tricky race. The horse might go on with it now after breaking a run of outs. Hasn’t won on a Good track but he only just missed back on the 26th of May on the same track and distance on a Good track. It’s in good form, barrier 1 and with Shinn to ride, I believe it’s a realistic chance of winning. Haha @Macca Were we studying the form at the same time??

How desperate are North Melbourne....
Funny thing is every player they have chased over the last few years has had a thread about them on here. Should we get this bloke, that bloke? If they have the money, good luck to them. I wouldn’t have a clue about their methods or reasons. If it’s true that we are targeting Hannebery, I don’t understand that either.

Angus Brayshaw
Anothe Gus article. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/angus-brayshaw-turns-around-a-career-in-jeopardy-from-concussions-into-a-rich-vein-of-form/news-story/997fa51ee958d28271f0afe65830879c Nice numbers from R6-R17 with 94% midfield time. Brayshaw has averaged 29 disposals per game, ranked 15th in the competition. He’s averaged 507 metres gained per game (ranked No. 9 in the AFL), six inside-50s (No. 6) and eight score involvements (No. 6) across those outings. Please be right Milkshake. Now all the Dees need is for the young gun — who is out of contract at the end of the year — to sign on. That said, it seems a matter of when, not if, that occurs. “I think that’s not too far away,” Melksham said.

Training - Wednesday, 18 July 2018
Doesn’t sound good. You think he’ll miss Earl?

Pace Or Grunt
Bernie is an interesting one. He’s definitely slowing down but from Goody’s presser this morning it sounds like he’s keeping his spot this week. Goodwin: We were really pleased with Bernie Vince last week. He’s a winner and competes.
-
Pace Or Grunt
Hannan for me. Give Trac more midfield time and let him be the grunt.
-
Who do we realistically target for a trade?
What about Tom Nicholls from Gold Coast? I’ve seen him do some good things in the ruck but hasn’t played a game this year due to injuries. I believe he’s OOC this year.

Round 17 Non MFC Games
SEN reported James Sicily going in for scans for a suspected broken wrist. With McEvoy out this would be another huge blow for the Hawks.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
I thought the same but seems he’s stagnated a tad. I’m not aware of any major injury concern and I’m with you, an extension looking less likely now.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Highly unlikely Balic will get a senior game with 6 weeks remaining. He looked ok early in a couple of VFL games that I saw. I noticed he didn’t play against Footscray last weekend. Question is, will he get another contract? Thoughts?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Excellent....palpitations first thing in the morning after reading the title. We need another contract from Jesse after 2019. Make no mistake, he’s yet to hit his peak, his forward craft is elite, he’s often double teamed, his movements inside 50 make him extremely hard to match up on and to say we could do without him in the next few years is wrong. T Mac is a star but it’s both that make us potent. Anyway, thanks Boomer.

Losing Jack Viney
Very disappointed after reading this. Beyond comprehension really. So much for even reporting an itch, the medicos are even bigger fools if Jack informed them.
