Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
Dee Zephyr replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
For the first half of last year he was ranked as the number 1 forward for pressure. The Champion Data guru Glen Luff was on radio after round 4 this year and stated Garlett was in our top 2 for forward pressure at the time. I have no idea how they measure that stat and I thought he was unlucky to get dropped when so many of his teammates were just as bad. I’d have him in the team as I feel we need his craft but in 10 weeks since his omission he’s fallen down the order I feel. Oh...and after his match winning effort against Brisbane this year some of the media were talking him up as the game’s best small forward. -
What’s his first name?
-
I’m more than happy with that system Macca and if others join it should be some good fun.
-
I’ll give it a go @Macca. France v Argentina. Uruguay v Portugal Spain v Russia Croatia v Denmark Brazil v Mexico ( Hoping more than anything) Belgium v Japan Sweden v Switzerland Colombia v England

The guy’s name is Menegola right? Why are they calling him Men N Gola?
-
Haha, the Weir runner belongs to a couple of blokes from work. Captain Harry Wadda. I prefer yours though. Nice pick!

Saty “ On Track” as per usual with his antics. Totally unnecessary telling a poster he should talk to the players. People give up their spare time to report observations from training to passionate Demons and get garbage thrown at them out of spite it seems.

I might be a bit biased with my background but I’d love to see Greece compete on the world stage again. A bit stiff to miss out this year, conceded only 3 or 4 goals throughout qualifying and then a hot Croatia hammers them with 4 in the first playoff match in Croatia. Intriguing Round of 16 ahead. I’ve had a small wager on Mexico to win it. So glad they drew Brazil.

Haha, both games now 1-0. The instructions to the Japanese would be simple right now. No more yellow cards. I had no idea that “Fair Play” was a tiebreaker.

Wow, VAR again. Penalty awarded to Senegal then overturned and I’m not sure why. Commentator mentioned an arm being flung back at Sanchez as to the possible reason but to me Sanchez had already started sliding and made contact with the knee prior to the Senegalese arm making contact and hardly any contact at that.

Best Bet. Sunshine Coast: Race 7 Number 2 The Bostonian $3.40 Terrific win last week when leading all the way. On a day when they were reeling the leaders in quickly I thought the win was quite impressive. Has won at Caloundra previously and the trainer believes the backup won’t be an issue. Also, a couple of work colleagues have a small share in a horse called Captain Harry. He’s going around in Race 7 at Caulfield. The fellas are excited as it’s the horse’s first city grade run. It had a midweek run at Sandown a few starts back but nothing beats a Saturday in town. It’s racing well of late in the lower grades and you never know. It’s around the $10 mark. By no means is this a tip, only an added interest. The good thing about this horse is the fact it’s still a colt. Hopefully they can get lucky and win a couple of decent races.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wanted him back in the team but it’s been two months since he got dropped with 7-8 VFL games. Has he been held over as emergency in this time? Interesting times ahead anyway Rusty. I don’t believe Spargo will play this week and I don’t think we can read much into him being named ahead of Garlett on the extended bench...or can we? -
Yeah, well done Ling. The throat is considered high but you missed the Rance elbow in Buddy’s throat first.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Garlett is a concern. He’s slipped down the pecking order rapidly. -
Swans have been awful with their kicking inside 50.

Jack Trengove to make his Port debut this weekend. Good luck Jack.

Demonland Podcast Featuring Aaron Davey TONIGHT (27/6) @ 8:30pm
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, it was brilliant. Best part of the week so far. Excellent interview. Where do we meet for pre season so we can help out his team up North? -
Article on AFL site about Trac. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-27/im-not-the-player-i-want-to-be-says-dee-petracca The following stood out. All I want to focus on at the moment is just doing what Simon tells me to do, playing my role as that half-forward by putting a lot of pressure on. It's stuff that probably doesn't get recognised, but it does get recognised inside the four walls."

Time will tell and i believe we can win another 6 games at least. We are better placed to attack the second half of the season in regards to personnel than this time last year IMO. I realise the fixture is a tough one, but it is what it is. If we can keep most of our best 22 out there for the remainder and miss finals....well...then we are not good enough and people have every right to feel aggrieved..again. Hopefully the players feel bitter after the Port loss, more so than R23 last year. T Mac telling the media to F off is a good start. I find it hard to see a benchmark right now, the obvious is Richmond. A 16 game winning streak at the G but also 3 losses interstate. Swans can win games when being dominated but have dropped 3 at the SCG. West Coast are getting the wobbles for one reason or another and 2 of their 3 losses have been at home. Collingwood in 4th?? Don’t rate them but hey. Port? They’ve had a cushy three week stay at home recently and fell over the line in two of them but 4 points is 4 points. We have some work to do no doubt but the four walls shouldn’t be caving in just yet.
