Ha Ha, I pictured your reaction and it made me laugh Wadda. I posted the bet knowing the result. Reminds me of a Crown Casino punter that placed 30 large on the Crows about 10 years ago at 3 quarter time when they were up by 30 points in one match. $1.03 and yep....they got rolled.

I’ve never understood the idea behind these massive bets at those odds Macca. What’s the theory behind it? I mean....$700, what difference does it make? The only thing that springs to mind is the punter might be some kind of high roller that needs to keep turning over funds for rewards or benefits of some sort. Even then, TAB rewards won’t get you a flight to the Bahamas.

The key for me is scoreboard pressure and especially early in the game. In round 1, they outscored us by 37 points in a 28 minute first half patch. They did it again by outscoring us by 25 points in the last term in our recent after the siren loss. Their leaders will know they can come at us again if we don’t take our chances. I’d prefer to see their heads drop early by making the most of our forward entries rather than them hanging around like a bad smell. Our game style should hold up Friday night and we should have ample forward entries to kick a big enough score. If our recent match against them is replicated where we do lead by 3-4 goals in the second half, it will be interesting to see how Goody and Co implement a plan to not allow them back in the game.

College Football has commenced this weekend. I don’t mind indulging in a 3-4 leg multi over any given weekend consisting only that of ranked teams and line betting only. The top 25 are ranked and those rankings change weekly depending on results over the previous weekend. Some of the lines set might seem like a little over the top but as we know the bookies get things right most of the time. Some of the ranked teams might play against weak and unranked colleges and I’d rather hedge my bet with a highly ranked team. Here’s how Week 1 has fared so far with the Top 25 teams covering or not covering the line. There’s no written rule that you have to take the favourite at the line, it’s just my preference. Number before team denotes ranking and A or H denotes home or away. As you can see above, some lines were covered and some not. You might want to avoid the lines set at -30 and above but those teams did give the bigger spread a decent shake. I tend to also avoid ranked colleges playing each other unless I see value in the home team. There was only one noticeable upset with the 23 ranked Texas losing. Sometimes head to head markets aren’t offered in certain games, only line betting. I don’t mind the NCAA Football as something to pass the time by and we all know we needed other interests to get us through the off season in the last decade or so.

Came up with a 4 leg multi for overnight soccer games. I’ve taken 2 the suggested specials. Spurs win/over 2.5 goals and Monaco win/over 2.5 goals into a couple of more games. This has been evident to me most matches at the G. Sitting close to Punt Rd fence, OMac is a bit of a leader in his own rights. As the last defender, he sees a lot of what’s unfolding up the field and is vocal in barking out instructions or encouragement towards his fellow defenders when we have been scored against or hemmed in our defensive 50. The fans around us have noticed this also. He’s had a terrific season so far IMO.

We just can’t get Panthers games right Wadda. Such an unpredictable team. Storm had a host of players out, Slater missed the game due to family reasons I believe. Penrith had two players sin binned in the first half, they somehow managed to hold strong with the disadvantage and went on to win the game. It was actually an entertaining match to watch.
