A Day at the Races
Naantali left a bit flat footed around the home turn. Still some good value with the remaining picks.

Changes v Hawthorn - Semi Final
2 words in the heading. Semi Final folks!!!’ Wow...people at the train station post match simply couldn’t believe this is happening, they were slapping themselves to wake up. As to the changes, no change at this stage. We look as settled as we have all year.

Not that it would have made a difference but why would the Hawks go in with two ruckmen on a night BOM predicted rain?- Finals Week 1 - Non-MFC Games
Oh no, let’s hope the Champ is alright Broose.- Finals Week 1 - Non-MFC Games

Richmond by 67 in Martin’s 200th. GWS by 3. Pies by 17.- Breaking The Drought - Momentum
I’d like to see a ‘Demon Decibel’ metre by Channel 7 tomorrow night, like the Toiges had in their prelim last year.- A Day at the Races
Going early with the ‘ Best Bet’ fellas. Busy couple of days coming up. Mooney Valley Race 1 Number 2 : Naantali TAB Odds: $2.60 An update on Santos. Decided not run the horse in a hot field first up. Santos had an exhibition gallop against Siege Of Quebec in between races last week at Randwick. He did finish about a head behind the other runner but his last 600m was faster than Redzel’s on the day. I believe they have changed their strategy on how to attack the Spring.- Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
For some reason I’ve felt more relaxed the last two weeks than I have all season and this a knockout game. I have no idea what it’s telling me, it could all change when the teams get announced tonight. Maybe the bye has helped in that regard.- Key tactical issues v Geelong
David King highlighted Gawn’s positioning in the defensive half on 360 last night. Labelled Max as our Jeremy McGovern. It’s been forcing teams to try high risk passes exiting their defensive 50 due to Max protecting the skinny side of the ground extremely well. Suggested move was to have some one run with Max all day to not allow him to play that role. I don’t know much about Abbott, Stanley is in serious doubt and Smith hasn’t been setting the world on fire from all reports. The logical option would be Blicavs if this was to happen but that could work in our favour if he’s taken out of defence. It will be interesting to see what Goody and Co come up with if the Cats place some one to run with Max. Slobbo also believes Max is the best ruckman since Simon Madden.- Bite Your Tongue!
Apologies if it sounds negative, wasn’t my intention. More than happy for mods to merge or delete.- Bite Your Tongue!
After what seems like forever, Friday night is nearly upon us and I’m sure most Demonlanders have been approached by non -MFC friends, work colleagues or family about our appearance in this year’s finals series. Plenty of nice comments have come our way and some are genuinely excited and happy for us. I’d like to hear some comments that made you bite your tongue. Today, I had to bite my tongue when a Hawthorn supporter at work approached me saying that history shows the Melbourne Football Club has no history.??- Tom Lynch, free agency and equalization
Paul Marsh was on SEN about a month ago talking about free agency. According to him it wasn’t brought in as an equalisation measure. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/07/24/free-agency-disaster-talk-an-overreaction-says-aflpa
