It wasn't just the actual performances of the players, but also their attitudes. IMO there's a leadership problem. Leadership starts and ends with the coach.

Melbourne do have BIG injury problems. They are missing their two best forwards (Neitz, Robertson), best backman (Rivers), just about their best midfielder (McLean) not to mention all of the others (Pickett, Dunn, Sylvia, Bartram). It was never going to be easy for Melbourne to win. My problem is the performance that ND got out of the players who were playing.

I agree that players should earn their spot in the side and I've been quoted as saying so. However, in this current situation with the number of injuries / poor form I believe that a risk or two needs to be taken and playing one of Petterd, Newton, Buckley etc. should be considered.

I really hope that Bizzell gets another chance at AFL level.

I thought he was relatively good today. He played well on Mooney when he was on him. I'm not sure if the backline is his number one position but I'm all for trying to mix things up a bit.

They are not sending them off to war Rhino. IMO giving them an insight into what it takes to make it in the AFL will only help their progress.

It's hard for the players to get excited when they have Ferguson, Holland and Godfrey to kick it to. How about you throw in the guy nicknamed "Freak" by his teammates, that might create a bit of interest.

I just asked the question if he knew people on the board because he seems to know a lot about what they do / have done (compared to most people anyway). And seeing as not many people have such knowledge it's interesting to hear from the perspective of those who may know and don't just speculate. Just like how it is always interesting to hear what CAC has to say when he writes on here.

You're right. Ferguson wasn't great for Sandy last week. Bizzell didn't get a chance to play for Sandy because he was an emergency.

I'm happy that PJ is in. I would have thought Bizzell would have been a better option than Ferguson.
