  1. Fair enough.
  2. I asked if you know people in the football department. I then asked if you know people on the board. They are two separate things. I never asked if you were on the board. Like you pointed out, if you were on the board then obviously you would have an association with the football department. But I never asked that. I did not intend for that initial question about the board to sound like I was asking if you were on it. Rather if you were associated with the people on the board. I can see where there may be confusion.
  3. Reminds me of Melbourne...
  4. I was asking whether you were associated with people who are part of the football department / on the board...
  5. Last time I asked you if you were associated with the football department, not the board. All I can say is "Geez, you miss so much for someone who makes categorical assessments of public figures." I obviously have not seen where you stated your association.
  6. Why not? Any backline would struggle to cover all of those guys at the same time. So long as you have crumbers at their feet and the ball is kicked in long and fast it could be a deadly combination.
  7. Do you have any association or connection with the MFC board?
  8. I agree. IMO Green is better in the forward line than in the midfield. He's got such a lethal left foot.
  9. This could have been the plan all along... Lull the opposition teams into a false sense of security by using the bad "run and carry" and then catch them by surprise by using the good "run and carry". It could explain this week's team selection. There are many players in the chosen team who are more than able to "run and carry" the ball. Watch out for big things this week…
  10. Melbourne can win. Despite all the pessimism going around I'll be extremely disappointed if the team go into the game thinking otherwise. It won’t be easy but there is still enough talent in this side to do it. GO DEES!
  11. Daniher is FANTASTIC at promoting and being the face of the club. I'm sure that the players all really like him and respect him, which is great. He's helped develop and build a strong list. He comes across as a really nice guy. But... He can't coach.
  12. With regards to Newton, I'd just like to see a bit of a risk taken. He might kick a couple of goals, take some good grabs and provide a bit of a spark and excitement for the fans. Or, he might have a day to forget and find himself back at Sandy. Except this time he has a better understanding of the level that he needs to reach if he wants to make it in the AFL.
  13. In the eyes of Yze_Magic, Jesus can play any position.
  14. Coach is typically Melbourne. Conservative.
  15. There must be a loophole lying around here somewhere...
  16. I agree that they should be trying new players but I also agree with the selection of Bizzell because I believe that he can offer value to the side.
  17. I don't want to turn this into a Bizzell thread but the guy never did a lot wrong. He was in good form in '04 before his facial injury. He was OK (some good and some bad form) in '05 and was dropped after his form faded a bit towards the end of the year. Finally in '06 he had a broken leg and was never really able to be fully fit and ready to make it into the Melbourne side. People are so quick to judge a player just because he gets dropped. That is, people think that just because the coach doesn't choose him, he's no longer good enough. The irony is that this whole thread is about people venting their frustrations with the coach's team selection. Give the guy a chance to actually play some footy before giving up on him.
  18. We're all upset, but IMO bringing in Bizzell is the only positive amongst so many negatives.
  19. Since when has Bizzell been a bad kick?
  20. That's what I call a strong team... No Sylvia?
  21. ...but that would go against everything the Herald Sun stands for.
  22. Melbourne needs to start to take some risks. Here's my team: FB: Whelan Carroll Holland HB: Bizzell Rivers Bell C: Johnstone Moloney Bate HF: Bruce Miller Green FF: Davey Sylvia P. Johnson Foll: White McDonald Jones Int: Pickett Brown Yze Newton
  23. Agreed. Agreed.
  24. I wouldn't mind seeing Pickett at full forward. He won't have to run too far. He's quick off the mark. He's strong. He's got a good football brain. He can mark. He can kick.
