Cull as many players as possible
Straight Sets Simon replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree, we do have the potential for a solid core. -
How many weeks will sylvia get?
Straight Sets Simon replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Having just seen the replay I would say 4-6. Off the ball. High impact. High contact. Intentional. Dog act. -
We don't headhunt, we listen to interviews and presentations.

He did, Finey on SEN was paying out on him for saying it. -

That line will come back to haunt him many times. -
OUT: Sylvia (suspended), Spencer, Nicholson, McKenzie, Kent IN: Magner, Jamar, Watts, Jetta, Taggert I don't think Strauss deserves a game, but I would rather he get an extended run.

He just mentioned "experience" and "development phase" in the one sentence. -

The best thing about being a Melbourne supporter is you just know everyone always gives their all. -

A list of the basic errors Melbourne players make over and over again: Not watching the hips when tackling Not turning around quickly enough to face forward after taking a mark Not working back quickly enough to kick over the mark Not shepherding Not marking their opponent Kicking and handpassing to a stationary teammate Kicking and handpassing to a teammate under pressure Calling for the ball when stationary Calling for the ball when under pressure Kicking to where a teammate is, not where he will be Not talking to one and other Not being front-and-centre when ball kicked to a contested situation General poor kicking skills General poor handpassing skills General poor marking skills Not sprinting over first two to three metres with and without ball Feel free to add your own. -
I left at three quarter time, best decision of the day.

How many weeks for Sylvia?
-
I wrote this in the other thread but they couldn't even do this with some intensity.
-
Neeld can't survive this.
-
Did Spencer just tap a ball towards the opposition's goal square?
-
My heart goes out to all the junior supporters, poor kids.
-
Even just watching the warm-ups there is zero intensity, players just going through the motions and no one picking them up on it.
-
Sub out Strauss and put Davey in the forward pocket.
-
The Auskick kids are showing better spread than Melbourne. My old chestnut the "not having anyone in the forward line" is back again too.
-
Gawn, sort of.
-
Didn't we just re-sign McKenzie and Spencer last year? They should start looking for houses in Cranbourne because that's where they should play out the rest of their contracts.
-
Why don't our players not look forwards after taking a mark? It's junior stuff. EDIT: McKenzie just took a mark outside fifty then looked sideways instead into to the top if the square, eventually he kicked it forwards but it is that slit second of time wasted that makes all the difference.

Why is McKenzie playing?
-
I started a thread on him. It was obvious from his highlights he had the makings of a very good player.
