McDonald should go to Walker, but with Walker's size I wouldn't be surprised if Frost gets a turn.

Raising The Minimum Draft Age
Straight Sets Simon replied to Vanilla Gorilla's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a great idea. It will make drafting more accurate as more kids will have a year to play in a senior side in the a state league. I think you will find that it will become less of a lottery as a result. This is beneficial for players and clubs. It will force them to work or study (whilst not earning an AFL income) meaning it help them in their personal development and give them greater perspective on life. Finally, it will give a greater opportunity for those who are late developers to catch up, again improving draft accuracy. -
Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?
Straight Sets Simon replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I appreciate all of that (I was being slightly sarcastic) but my point is that teams with a winning culture just so happen to be really good at football as well. -
Even at half time when we were winning I did notice that GWS were well up on tackles, sadly that trend continued into the second half.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 2, 2015

Amazingly, six of our first eight first eight quarters have been pretty good. It's just the other two were awful when the opposition applied pressure. -
Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?
Straight Sets Simon replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I always find it interesting that when people talk about teams having good "winning culture" it just so happens their players are also really good at football. Yet, when those players leave or get too old the "winning culture" is no longer there. Weird. -
AFL - Round 2 (non MFC Games)
Straight Sets Simon replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thank goodness all the attention this week will be on Hawthorn, Essendon and Geelong and not us. -
POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 2, 2015
Straight Sets Simon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Normally we are bemoaning lack of skills and decision making, but in that second half I didn't see any of that becuase we didn't have an opportunity to stuff it up -

We couldn't get our hands on the footy, that's where the problems started for me. -
But none of that has anything to do with what this thread is about.

What's this got to do with the price of fish? Where did I mention culture?

No team has no strengths, that's moronic. If those strengths aren't as good as the strengths of other teams you still play to them. Do you think that there is a single game plan that will beat all others?

JKH Has played in four of our last five wins, he needs to come back in.

Howe was easily my worst on ground. -
There is no such thing as one best game plan. Any game plan can win at any time if you have right team to execute it, but the game plan needs to suit the team's strengths.

McDonald was simply brilliant yesterday. I've been critical of him over the years, but he as risen to a whole new level.

Downhill skiing. -
Massive miss.
-
Howe and Dawes have been the worst by far.
-
They are just ball watching.
-
Ridiculous.
-
Howe is running to to where the ball isn't. Soft as butter this game.
-
Howe has been very sloppy and lazy.
