He's probably one of only a few in the AFL who is entitled to have a good relationship with himself.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY

You can't be half-pregnant, you either have a hard salary cap and draft or nothing, there's no point otherwise. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
Straight Sets Simon replied to Steve13's topic in Melbourne Demons
Go back and look at the the VFL/AFL was like when zones were in place, it was a disaster. There is a reason we have a draft and salary cap, they are the two most important aspects to the competition which is why the COLA and academies are the two biggest blights on the current system. -

No club should have an academy. The AFL should run an academy that all clubs have equal access to. -

For those who are wondering what this crazy nutter is on about, watch this passage by Kent at the start. -
Mark Basics [edit: resurrected from 2013]
Straight Sets Simon replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bump. Today we had Tyson get caught holding the ball after taking a mark in the middle of the ground, Gawn handpass into the man on the mark, vandenBerg on the half forward line handpass to Jones who was under pressure instead of just kicking it himself and Kent take so long to get back behind the man on the mark on the half forward line that was forced to go sideways which was turned over and resulted in a Gold Coast goal. Why can we not get the basics of making practical decision from a mark or free kick right? How hard is it to get back quickly behind the mark and not kick under unnecessary pressure? -
Terrible news, I rate him.

AFL need to look into Rhys Mathieson!
Straight Sets Simon replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
No doubt Mathieson needs to change for his own safety at the very least, but our players should have been smarter in how and when they tackled him. -

Our players need to improve their tackling as much as anything. -

The youngest most inexperienced side

I actually felt sorry for the Brisbane supporters around me because I could relate to their team being so bad but then I remembered they saw their team win three premierships in a row and then I stopped caring.- 225 replies

He was ducking and yet our players still tackled poorly allowing the free kicks to be drawn. -
The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
Straight Sets Simon replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Still had a slight stutter but the big difference for me is he wasn't holding the ball over his left foot like he does now. -
The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

He kicked seven goals under the roof of Etihad. His kicking lacks penetration and is therefore far more likely to be impacted by even the slightest breeze. -

Is Hogan too stubborn to work on his kicking action? -

True, but at least we have some ability to negotiate (as opposed to walking out as a free agent). Based purely on my gut instinct I think he's gone, I don't think it will be money I just think he will want to be back in WA. -

I don't even know why Hogan needs to go and visit his family in Perth, he has all the family he needs here at Demonland.
