I understand negotiation, we have given them two alternatives, so what you think is going to happen is Essendon will 'panic' and accept the next year pick? They have the player who wants to move to MFC, and we supposedly want the player, it doesn't necessarily mean it will actually happen the way we want it to, I think the negotiation is on equal footing

I think you are over thinking this, it is not a curve ball, we have given them two scenarios, will be up to them to decide which one they would like to go with, I am sure we have a plan either way, Hibberd wants to be at MFC and not Essendon, something will be worked out and quite quickly I would have thought

The point I am trying to make, and others have said it may not be correct, which I can live with is If the substance they allegedly were injected with was definitively proved to enhance performance, which I don't believe has, then they cheated If, the scenario, I believe is true, they were conned into taking a banned substance, banned because the drug agencies have no idea what they are doing and blanket ban everything, the lack of consistency across all sports in dealing with drugs in sport, shows a lack of faith in these agencies Then they are guilty of nothing more than being stupid and naive, but still have had to wear the consequences of their actions or non actions As Daisy said they were also supposedly offered a smaller ban, why, supposedly the drug agencies had a strong cae, why cut a deal, hence my jaundiced view of the agencies and the organisations such as the AFL

But the reason the above is occurring is because people have differing opinions, nobody is right, although they may think they are, as nobody knows the whole story I have a very jaundiced view of both sporting organisations and the drugs in sport agencies, there are always too many personal agendas at play

Oh CAS, the 'court' set up by that well known leader in ethics and morale behaviour in sport, the IOC, they had to do something, there were too many sportspeople being dobbed in and they had sat on their hands for so long. Of course we are, because we have posters like SWYL who want to condemn before a bloke has laced on a boot for MFC, I think both Melksham and Hibberd (if he arrives) will bring experience and added hardness to an already competitive side, they have served their time, and as far as I am concerned they are like everybody else who joins in October/November they arrive with a clean sheet, ready to have it covered in bile they minute they make an error during a game
