Who said he was the most valuable player, I didn't, you can't have misquoted to make a point surely?....I said he was a valuable player at the moment. I wasn't one calling his future, you will find it is not a majority on Demonland who do this, but a small minority of footy genii Master, I wear 39 on my jumper, I do watch Nev closely, not sure you do, that bolded comment is rubbish, he wouldn't be in the team if he did that, I have tried explaining a myriad of times but to no avail, his instructions at the moment, similar to a few other players, is not to try too much, Roos is trying to eradicate the stupid turnovers and it's working....solid foundations then you can add the decoration

Mate, it is mainly a small group on here, I tend to take them on, they bore me, they are like a broken record, on and on and on about what is wrong with a player/coach/etc etc, they state an opinion and expect everybody to immediately fall in behind, "the Bail can't kick" myth a perfect example, don't dare to disagree otherwise it leads to personal attacks, no offence taken by the way
-
Wow, cognitive dissonance, and I just thought it was differing views That is the whole issue, a couple of the "vociferi", reckon I and a few others take the criticism of players personally, I know I don't, I just find the constant carping about certain players tiresome, as if the players don't know when they make mistakes etc, or where their shortcomings, if any, are Hence why in the training thread I asked for questions and got Jimmy Toumpas' answer and I got a frank appraisal from Jordie McKenzie on himself, so not rubbish, but facts
-
Chap, as we keep getting told, it is a forum, so I have my opinions, like everybody else does, except I and a few others don't seem to be allowed to have them, especially if they are contrary to the more vociferous on here........If I think somebody is wrong, I will express that opinion......reasonable debate is very thin on the ground on this forum.....
-
Thank you doctor, the couch was very comfortable, now let me think the season finished and there was not much footy going on, but I must spend hours on a footy forum talking about sod all, or gratuituously patting ourselves on the back on how we had saved the club..................... how interesting..............I beg to differ by the way, what the master wrote was laughable.........just a small point, the "keeping the faith" topic was being derailed, it was just meant as a notice board, so hence my comment, sorry I am not supposed to express myself that way am I in case I upset someone.........same as this topic is being derailed by your pontification, although I must say the analysis was worth every bitcoin...for someone who wasn't gonna post again, your second wind arrived early....

There were issues, but then again there are issues in all workplaces, I should know, going through it now, but it wasn't as bad as the hindsight kings try to make out, and that is now all in the past, I am sure just below the surface at the Club there are probably a few issues going on, but because there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's not the train this time they are being buried at the moment, my point is some on here just seem to need to be negative, not sure why?
-
What do you mean where did I go, I am still here aren't I, I do have a life you know, not trapped behind the keyboard, can't let the Neeld thing go can you, as explained many eons ago, you support the incumbents in the positions whilst they are there, you can debate the rights and wrongs of what occurs and offer an opinion, then when it all goes pear shaped, you can become the hindsight king and proclaim from the mountaintops "see I was right all along", bully for you.........it's the past, move on, we have a team finally going places (or so it seems), you never know it might suddenly all go pear shaped again, then what?
-
CFB and WYLGee you two are boring, you make the posts about me when I respond, why because I disagree with your opinions, everybody can have an opinion, but stick your head above the parapet and you will get shot at if the opinion is not agreed with, that is the problem you two seem to have...I don't mind my opinions being disagreed with and hopefully we will have some healthy debate, but no, it gets personal, so I respond in a manner you understand......get this....you are not always right, and neither am I but I don't mind being proved wrong, and I put my hand up when I am, rather than my head up my arse like some on this board
-
Thank you for you kind thoughts, I just get bored with some of the comedians on here, yes you get a guernsey, I tend not to read your posts and a few others, but it is a slow day in work, so I thought why the hell not, I find it entertaining now again, a battle of wits with unarmed men........it would make a pleasant change if some when reviewing the game or players either a. make sure they are facing the green bit, or b. stay away from the alcohol....interesting that opinions in the hands or heads of some become facts, yet others don't, don't wish to derail the topic further suffice to say nobody will change MY OPINION of Nev Jetta's value to the team at the moment
-
Sorry your worship, I am not the self appointed representative of the players, same as you are not the self appointed representative of everything that is posted is correct and needs answering in a certain way, it's a forum

The master didn't make a point, it was pure negativity, as for seeking feedback there is a certain group of posters on here that seek nothing of the sort, they express an 'opinion' and assume that everybody else will agree with it, and when it doesn't they go on and on as if to beat the rest into submission....your opinion is 'jumping the gun' , it is an opinion not a fact, I don't have to agree with it, I regard Nev playing his role as making him a valuable member of the team, and for your information I have been reliably informed that it was always the intention to rookie Nev, in the hope he could finally get a full pre season (which he did), put his head down and work (which he did) and get a chance to show he is more than capable of being an AFL player (which at the moment he is) I support the players, which is more than can be said for some on here, I get as disappointed at the rest if you see a players not performing his role or playing to the max, but Roos sorts that out, not me, so I find it rather pointless posting negativity........

Ladies and gentlemen, just to let you know the membership is still ticking over, a bit from Nineteen last night, the optimism talking to people is refreshing "22 sign ups from supporters who were last members in 2012. This took 419 dial ups & was a solid result considering they were not members last year!" Of the 419 dial ups, a lot are answering machines and may yet result in rejoining
-
I don't worship the ground they walk on P-man, I just don't feel the need to cover my own feelings of inadequacy by taking potshots at players for no particular reason than it makes one feel good, back up your criticism with facts and I may listen, just make a snide remark like you did to Sassy and I will post a retort, we are moving forward....negativity for the sake of it becomes tiresome
-
I have spoken to Nev quite a few times, at the moment certain players are encouraged "not to try too much, keep it simple", Nev being one of them in his shut down roles, as the team gets better this will come, Roos is one for one step at a time, get the defensive bit as second nature and then start hurting the other way, Pedersen is probably a week or two ahead of Nev and he is beginning to take on more offense
-
Pedantry on a Tuesday morning, how refreshing, the way Roos is now coaching, any player who can go out and fulfil his role exactly as explained is valuable at the moment, it is creating a stability in the team that enables the improvement
-
Some of your finest comedy yet, Jetta has a role, he plays that role
-
You don't like to debate chap, you prefer to make a sweeping statement and then everyone agree with you, if you don't, as above, you sulk....so how do you suggest we keep recruiting quality, according to you previously our recruiting has been abysmal, or have you turned on that opinion/statement now. I don't develop strong feelings, I support the players who play for my team, I wanted to know and actually chatted to Jordie who gave me a full explanation of why he wasn't getting a game in the AFL side which he totally understood, he has gone back to Casey and is beginning to rack up the possessions, and become more rounded, who knows it still might not be good enough to crack a game, but if Roos picks him that will do me

Seconded

Northern Blues v Casey Scorpions
Satyriconhome replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
From what I could make out, Strauss seemed to be playing as a defensive forward, tended to go anywhere except near the ball, maybe playing the decoy role giving Smith a one on one which worked to perfection in the first half, will have to wait and see coaches review. Actually forgot to mention ventured on to the quagmire at 3/4 time was very impressed with Brad Miller's talk to the forwards, calm, quietly spoken, just stressing to try and do the 1 percenters and lock the ball in the forward 50 if they could, and jag a goal or two, worked to perfection -
Yes McKenzie's 'shortcomings' are universally known, well at least on this forum, repeated often enough, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they can't be fixed, Pedersen anyone? You have to earn respect by the way chap, the point I was making, if some posters on here are such good judges of players and their ability to improve or not, then why don't they hold a position in the industry, I thought their insight would be welcomed with open arms
-
The difference is I come down from Olympus occasionally to speak to the players to find out the facts, rather than just pontificate, I love the number of really good footy judges we have on this board, but strange that none work in the industry
-
If you had read my training report from the other day you will have known that is exactly what Jordie is working on at the moment, developing all the other attributes, as he put it "to become more rounded", he was also very good at the weekend in atrocious conditions, working on the outside as well as inside hence his numbers. He is also working very closely with Daniel Cross at training, and knows EXACTLY what he has to do/play/perform etc to get back into the AFL side So you never know a miracle may happen, even though it won't involve some of the Gods we have on this board

Northern Blues v Casey Scorpions
Satyriconhome replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I did the double header yesterday , inner city living has it's advantages, Blease - my comment when I got home to my lovely lady "some really good stuff but with one or two of his usual schoolboy errors" Michie - a really good solid game, same with McKenzie, Evans Riley - a bulldozer that works really well in mud Tapscott - getting back to where he shoud be, he had a a cut under his eye, by the look of it Hunt - agree, worked his way into the game Barry - was surprised as well on how well he went Toumpas - relax , he is getting there Fitzpatrick - I asked Andrew Nicol, went over on his ankle in ruck contest, blew up straight away, they don't think really serious -
