  1. Ron, they have him working on it, trying to slow him down slightly, he rushes at his set shots, he like a lot of other players is good on the run where they can't overthink it
  2. Really well, like Kent, looking fit and strong, a lot of voice from him at training, got a thumbs up from him as he left the session There is going to be some serious competition for spots The intra club is next Friday at Casey, that should show who Roos thinks is best 22 Just a note Terlich has to play out of skin this year, not surprised he is one of the strongest showings in preseason along with Matt Jones (note to Wiseblood, followed advice from a couple of other posters and put you on ignore, so put it away)
  3. Think Roos is a fan, during match sim he was everywhere, as everyone agrees just needs to tidy up his disposal, I don't have a best 22.
  4. Yes he did, did the first part, spoke to him afterwards, said he feeling really confident in his body, but one tick at a time.
  5. Went to training today, really good session, mostly the same drills, match simulation had umpires, Jack Viney tackled Tommy Mc again and resisted temptation to face plant him. Frost is definitely looking at being a forward, did match sim as forward and did goal kicking practice at the end of the session whilst rest were running, spoke to him, feellng really good. Stand outs for me today Hogan, Garlett, Grimes, Kent, Hunt and Matt Jones, quicker ball movement is what they are looking for with two or three options by hard running. There was one lovely coast to coast goal with Terlich being the one who had gut run to get himself alone in the centre square and he had options either side. Weideman and the rest of the young guys did some match sim, he put a really nice left foot step on Oscar Mc to round him and kick a nice goal. On the injury front Salem had slight issue with knee, same with Watts, Oliver is still growing so making sure we don't break him, Lumumba and Petracca are both a couple of weeks away from rejoining main group, Newton is back jogging, a few more weeks, Vince is being eased back in with his history of hamstring issues in preseason ... all this info from the players I asked. Will be putting up some pics on Twitter at Demonpk, any questions feel free.
  6. I am getting withdrawal symptoms coz I can't get to training coz of work, appreciate the reports, but can we stay on topic I get accused of derailing threads don't give a toss about the past or Sheedy can somebody who was there tell me how Harmes went spoke to coaches pre Xmas and he was one they thought could go another couple of levels
  7. Gee......as if the AFL hierarchy are ever going to listen to supporters.......apart from taking 30c of the bucket of overcooked greasy chips at the G last year (ps I didn't smoke Gauloises because of the ads, it was because Serge Gainsbourg did
  8. All this angst over practice games, the EPL and NFL both have pre season practice games against real opposition, true some are from a lower level with the EPL, but all clubs still regard them as an important part of the preparation for the season From a spectator point of view I'm with fndee, good to see how some of the younger players and those new to the club perform
  9. They had a go at changing his set shot routine last year, he didn't like it so went back to what he knows besides which it works
  10. Really appreciate the great reports, can't get to training at the moment, really busy at the moment at work with extra shifts one player who doesn't seem to get a big mention is Harmes how has he been in the last couple of sessions?
  11. Agreed, still think there is a lot of development, that being said I thought Brayshaw wasn"t ready and thankfully he proved me wrong, maybe Frost will do the same
  12. He was playing fwd because he had to, I still don't think he should play fwd, I just want him to earn his spot, we have seen 3 games, I can see the potential but with the injury last year think that put his development back, Ross will play him when he thinks he is ready
  13. Can't see him being ready to play till April, he has missed the whole block before Xmas and has just started running
  14. You said people with depression are weak and pathetic, you are lucky that any poster who has had to deal with a person close to them suffering with depression can only type abuse to you....but complain away
  15. You have the perfect nom de plume to quote Faust, but why bring Cam Schwab into it again
  16. This is a personal opinion, think they are leaning more to Michie, really push him at training, but as I said to BAirCo, could be any of the four, they still have high hopes for King, not as a ruckman, but a 200cm forward, lovely kick for goal, Wagner is a mature head and body, some neat skills and White's development has been really good and owns that left foot cannon....christ it's good these days to even have four rookies who wouldn't be out of place if elevated to the main list
  17. Not that I have been informed/found out/read, they don't have to make the decision just yet, who knows, could be any of the four, depending on perceived need I suppose, who performs best in pre season/NAB etc etc
  18. Lack of comprehension skills on my part, still think he should 'earn it', he is a bit behind in his preparation at the moment after the toe issue, only joined main group after Xmas
  19. WJ, I'm the same, can't see all the love for Frost to be a lock in defence, only played 3 games for MFC, true you can see the potential, but we didn't have him in there last season and the defence did ok under pressure, let's see him earn a spot through Casey or outstanding NAB performances
  20. Great work WJ, poor ol Nut (Harmes) will be shattered he didn't get a name check
  21. What you actually said was "develops quickly and brings something to the table", I asked why he needs to do this, I wasn't correcting but asking why you think this, being interested in your answer....still am
  22. I am pleased with what we are doing now, and that is giving the kids and rookies time to develop, they set the pace, Smith is a B Class rookie, if he develops quickly, great...if he doesn't we can give him time to build his game......no more burning kids/rookies etc
  23. Why does Smith have to develop quickly? He is a B class rookie Knowing the new regime, if the recruiting staff thought there was somebody worth looking at in the state leagues apart from Wagner, they would have perhaps looked at delisting both Terlich and Jones, no matter the cost, much to some people's disgust on here we do need both at the moment to create competition for spots, hence the decision also to rookie Michie rather than cutting him loose, we have enough young players who still need to develop, so at least 3 players who have a few years in the system to compete with them is good From what I have seen at training, Matt Jones may still get a gig but Terlich may struggle to get into the side
  24. Spencer had lost his fitness base due to the injuries last season, like Bernie Vince, had to do lap after lap until he is "fully fit" to join main squad
  25. Ron, Bit more positivity for you, every player I have spoken to has reiterated what we have been reading on the club website and from training reports on here, everybody is finally on the same page, everybody understands "exactly" what is required to become elite, the training has lifted another notch.........I made Roos laugh at training when chatting to him over the fence when I said his 'explosions' seemed to have lessened at sessions...he said actually being listened to helped....yes it is still pre season, but finally I think we may have found the ladder to get out of the hole we dug ourselves into
