  2. What’s your view on Andy Moniz-Wakefield?
  3. We could really prove ourselves by taking NT and Essendon NGA talent Anthony Munkara at pick 37 (if available). There’s talk around that the Bombers have been trying to hide him from view so that nobody takes him inside pick 40.
  4. Wardlaw would find it very hard to break into the Melbourne midfield because he models his play on our own midfield bulls. Tsatas would be more likely especially with the impending departures of players like Bedford and Hunt. We do have a need for quality outside runners and that’s exactly what Tsatas is. As for lack of composure, I’m not sure what we would have expected from the kid in his first game back from injury in elite company when he got 30 touches. Remember, at NAB level, he was BOG for Oakleigh in all four games since he came back. What more can you ask of a 17 year old?

  6. Melbourne?
  7. Also Deakyn Smith and Daniel Turner. We also have Dunstan and Daw who haven’t played for us in the AFL.
  8. Hawthorn look shot to me as well. After the season finished I thought they might improve with Mitchell on board and the progress they made late under Clarkson. But the balls up during the trade period with shopping around senior players suggested that there might be some dissension in the group. Not a good look and it highlighted their aging list too.
  9. James Jordon to come back onto the Primary List. Clubs confirm seven AFL rookies set to be upgraded to the Primary List
  10. Perception is everything when we talk about footballers. Here’s a comparison drawn by Twitter poster Joshua Kay Nic Naitanui 194 H&A games 33 Brownlow votes 5x 3 votes 6x 2 votes 6x 1 vote Shane Mumford 197 H&A games 33 Brownlow votes 5x 3 votes 6x 2 votes 6x 1 vote
  11. I knew we were in for a bad day when we got flogged by over 100 points in the twos. It was time to leave the ground at quarter time in the ones. It’s the memory of days like that which made our comeback in Round 23 at GMHBA Stadium and our trashing of them in the Preliminary Final at Optus Stadium all the more joyful.
  12. Queensland lifted its lockdown today although it had 9 cases. We had 11 and we’re already a certainty to extend beyond Thursday even though that’s 5 days away. Sure we have most of our cases still in the community but for the government to leak their all that many days ahead doesn’t fill me with any confidence in their ability to get this under control.
  13. Let’s say another club nominates him in the draft. What do we have to give away to match the bid?

  15. Not up in Cairns on 3 September...
  16. Oops ... my device told me it was over. Bad luck to the Roos. Better luck next week (or next year, whatever).
  17. Wow. Collingwood were on top of the ladder for most of the season and now they’ve been bundled out in week 1 of the finals. My heart bleeds. The only two teams that beat us this year are out of the competition.
  18. Northern Suburbs soccer player sees the light. Could be good for pick #28. The ex-soccer gun who could be this year's biggest draft bolter
  19. Would we be stretching the friendship if we got them to take Oscar as well? I mean it would keep the brothers together for starters.
  20. If the team had what it takes, they would disprove Wilson by winning their last two games and with a bit of luck, they might front and beat Richmond in the elimination final. A long shot, I know but I started this with the word “if”.
  21. My guess is that he was in line to get dropped and this was the straw that broke the camels back.
  22. And they want the grand final?
  23. We need to take a good look at how Essendon go tomorrow. I expect that the match ups against them are going to be very different. The way this seasons is going to be played out, we’re going to need plenty of players to rotate every week and players will be rested from time to time.
  24. Don’t underestimate Carlton under Teague. They improved immensely in the last half of 2019 and won plenty of games during that time. I think we’ve also lost the edge in fitness that we had during the preseason as a result of the Covid19 break and that will come back with a few more games under our belt. One advantage I can see is our depth - there are three or four players who can come in and replace others which I think is going to be a crucial factor this season. The other thing is that it’s mid June and we’re out of the top 8 on percentage. How good is that?
