  1. Yeah thats not a problem at all. Certainly understand that. But its something that we could run for a while, so anyone would be free to jump on board at any time.
  2. Perhaps even a salary sacrifice situation. Much like with super, if the MFC could set up an account were we could salary sacrifice our desired amount each fortnight. No hassles, wouldn’t even notice it come out! $10.00 a fortnight, for 26 fortnights is $260. Times that by say 10,000 members (realistically) you’re looking at $2600000.00 and so on. Its a bloody good start!
  3. It also had something to do with their pompas arse president, who sold off all of their assets ( much like he did with the state ) and sold a number of games to Tasmania, resulting in a server lack of identity and isolating their Victorian members. We don’t have that luxury.
  4. slightly off topic. Does anyone know how Ricky is doing?
  5. All good ideas. However, I A N, hit it on the head. Its allot of money to ask people to pledge. I like 45's idea. If we could somehow put a proposal in to Jimmy to give extra incentives for those who purchase dual memberships. Like once off access into the locker rooms, or for those who purchase 3 or 4 or more memberships, a quarter or game in the coaches box etc etc. I would be more than happy to pledge extra money for the chance to experience the coaches box or something along those lines. As I am currently finishing off my business degree, I would be more than happy to write up a proposal for the board to have a look at. Cant hurt at all.
  6. He is playing for the captaincy IMHO. He has been outstanding since Neita called it a day! However, i remember a time when he had the best left foot in the leauge, without fail. He needs to learn to kick again!!!!
  7. Absolutely. That only comes from confidence, which only comes from game time. And I dare say he might have got a little bit of it on the weekend.
  8. Agreed absolutely. Except that Meesen is a spud! He has NO football brians nor brawn! Did anyone else happen to see his performance (or lack there of..again) on the weekend?
  9. My apologies if this thread has been done to death ( I have been out of action for a while and haven’t been able to post anything ) But I saw moments in yesterdays game, where Miller reminded me of a certain number 9 great. Presents all day long, and kicked 2 fantastic goals by stepping around his player. There is absolutely no question where his heart is. He is 100% demon. He never stops talking at training; he gives 100% each game. Personally, despite the lack of goals, we really need to persist with him. I can see a forward in him somewhere. Thoughts?
  10. Does anyone know why Wheels wasnt selected in the end? WOuld have been fantastic for him to line up against Brown again.
  11. personlay I didnt understant what was happening last night...I just didnt get it. When the Saints apply the flood from the midfield we cant play it..why on earth why wernt we applying teh same pressure. Shouldnt it have been a mirror image of what they were doing. Unfortunatly for us, every team in the AFL just witnessed how to pump the Dees at the G..and apparently its quite simple. Just chuck a whole heap of blokes into the forward line. It is only round one...and I would much rather loose this end of the season as long as it means we can come good by the 2nd half...thats the only hope I am hanging onto.
  12. Its a bit of a touchy subject with some people I think. I mean if you are passionate about your club then you should pay up, no questions asked. HOWEVER, not everybody are in the same financial position that you or I are in. There were a few years where I could not afford to buy a membership, however I did attend games where possible. If a supporter can or cant afford to buy a membership, this doesnt (and nor should it) take anything away from the fact that they support, love and are passionate about the MFC. Personaly I think that the introduction of monthly direct debit for memberships is the best thing that has happened. Without it, I know that I (and my brother for that matter) would not be able to support the Demons for the past few years and beyond.
  13. I agree...I mean statistically they are only going to break up anyway... Round one final rematches only come around about once a year
  14. CANNOT wait to swipe that card for the first time...smell the fresh green grass ready to be torn up by flash...take out a mortgage and buy that first beer...then SING THE SONG!!!! COME ON DEMONS
  15. EXACTLY!!.. Dont be so naive everybody to think that WC is the only club doing this. Of course no one can name names, and allot of talk is alleged, but there is allot of scrutiny on the WC players because they are only one of two clubs there and because of previous incidents. There are going to be Melbourne club based players named in this as well dont worry about that. It really is juts going to be a matter of time. Footballers have to learn that if they want to make these lifestyle choices and not get caught, they are going to have to start being allot more careful.
  16. Unfortunatly not me..iam at a music festival in the country. Where is this place anyway??
  17. Is it just me or did I miss something? Reading that it almost seemed like it was a bit defeatist. It gave me the impression that we are trying to rebuild on a failing club, a club that has finished on the bottom for the past few years. To me that read like the kind of article that Carlton or Essendon should be writing. Like someone was trying to save his job? I know his contract is up soon, but we haven’t started R1 yet.
  18. As much as I hate to say it, I had very big wraps on the Dockers this year. I think it’s fair to say that on Jeffs 6 week’s suspension alone, they are going to struggle now. 6 weeks is a long time, then finding form afterwards, he thrives on confidence young Jeffery, and I reckon he could struggle to find it when he returns.
  19. I cant stand the camera angels that 7 have. Ther are terrible. The worst when someone is kicking for goal and ball ups...ohh god, how long have we got left until 9 are back on board?
  20. Dont forget the not so might crows last year
  21. "Match Fixing" as some put it is close to impossible in the AFL. There are far too many variables and uncertainties. As I agree that Wardy should have stayed right away from this, I hardly find this a serious offence. For god sake if the idiot hadn’t had put the account in his own name, we would be talking about Melbourne smashing the Hawks in a few days instead of something so trivial. I quite like the comment by Deesrock, comparing drugs to gambling-in terms of what he would prefer his kids to do, and he is spot on. We have to understand the footy players are human, and they are gonna stuff up. Sometimes more than others. But if we are talking about 'role models' well yes I would prefer them put a bet on a game than put coke up there nose and worse. Before I leave my rant- a warning to future AFL players who like a flutter...don’t put the bloody account in your name. Try a friends or even a fake one. GO DEES!!!
  22. Great work Occo. Cheers for that. Hope to see a few people there!!
  23. DOes anyone know when this is? I hope its not today and instead of watching the Dees i am sitting here wondering. I called the TD but they are as useless as [censored] on a bull. Had no idea it was happening.
