  1. Greens out for 6-8 weeks kinda puts a dampener on the win. Pretty guttered actually.
  2. I knew this would happen. Dont forget people, that we just played a pathetic Richmond..and I mean PATHETIC!!! The Dees played with alot of intensity today and the 2nd efforts I thought were fantastic. But our skills were still pretty woeful, and this was reflected perfectly in Col. I really hope that he can strong some qrts together like that again next week, and maybe we can continue on our way with the win today, but Col is still Col. A good game against an average (at best) side doesnt change that. PLEASE COL, PROVE ME WRONG!
  3. Never thought i would be saying this, but he needs to be given some more game time. The previous post about agony and ecstasy is so so so so true. He took some fantastic pack marks and backed back into the contest a number of times ( mainly due to the fact that he wasnt leading what so ever), but my god, if he could have converted today. We would all be talking about Juicy in a different vain.
  4. I have to disagree to an extent. He is a very hard working footballer, and a good in under player. The problem with VFL is that is is so scrappy. Valenti would enjoy the freedom of some space at AFL level. I think he is worth persisting with. If not only (as another poster said) to relive some of our mids.
  5. [censored]. I think we must have been looking at 2 different people, because the girl I saw was pretty stunning.
  6. Personally, I was guttered when we moved to Casey. I loved going for a short drive from St Kilda to beach road oval (sorry Trevor Barker oval). Now i am really torn. Obviously iam going to follow Casey. But i have a real soft spot for Sandy. Also, I may be making the move north of the river shortly, and have recently been attending Coburg matches. Absolutely love that old ground, and $4 cans of beer. Thats my kind of football!!
  7. Thats exactly right DD. A winning culture is a winning culture, regardless of the level of skill. I did think that whilst watching today, it cant be good for players like Jetta, Cheney, Spencer etc etc who will be in week in and out the next, to be playing in sides where they are continually getting belted. Its no good for their development. Look at Collingwoods young players for example. Players like Beams are already and (and probably will be for years to come) miles ahead of the rest, because of the confidence they are receiving from winning games like that.
  8. I tell ya what...After getting lost on the way, oh I dont know, 3 or 4 times, it turned out an ok day. Great to see Watts, but unfortunately, didnt really get to see him step up. There was very little supply, but he did well with what he got. He kicked 1 but could of had 3. He judges the ball pretty well too, but again not much to report on him. (happen to be standing next to his family two, which seem like nice people....IS THAT HIS SISTER!!????????) The seniors was a much better game, Robbo is slowly getting back there. I was surprised at how well he has progressed. Took a couple of fantastic screamers and kicked 3 nice goals. I think that we can look forward to Robbos return. Athletically, he was looking real good. Personally, cant wait to see him again this year. Valenti has to be close for a call up surely!! BOG. Maric would have impressive selectors, should have got a game this week on form. Jurrah still has a long way to come, but is wonderful to watch. Very athletic and has a long penetrating kick on him. Grimes played pretty well, and set up a few plays out of the back line. Looked really good, and the back held up during the game. On a bad note (possibly) Wheels only played the first half, and for the second, had his thigh iced. Not sure if he hurt it or if it was just for good measure. Lets hope so. Its a really nice ground, by far the best in the league, but as a venue, lacks a little bit of that old 'suburban foot ground feeling'. Iam very tired after the drive, iam sure someone will right a more comprehensive (or perhaps even coherent) report. Good day all in all.
  9. Would be very interested to know if that those of you who found it funny, actually sore the video in its entirety.??
  10. Count me in. I am actually working in a call center at present (get me outta there...) so would be more than happy to get out of the office early and help out the Dees.
  11. To be honest, i am pretty disappointed to see Watts play in the Magoos The 2nds at VFL level is about the equivalent of playing Nar Nar Goon 2's. Unless he is chronically underdone ATM, I would have thought he played in a much more competitive team. Particually if he is preparing for AFL level.
  12. 4. Watts has been names in the Magoos unfortunately.
  13. Can anyone provide me an answer as to why we couldnt play Johnson up forward? After Meesens moderate success over the weekend, play both him and Spencer, and use Johnsons height, speed and relative accuracy to KICK SOME GOALS!!!!! At the very least, its another option and would really stretch the Richmond defense.
  14. This is an football forum mate. Used to express our opinions of players, positive and negative. How do you not get that?
  15. To be honest Mousey, I think it may be a reoccurring injury that we are all going to have to deal with. Not quite sure if it will ever truly go away. My mate (also quite a good footballer) had the same injury, and it seems to rear its head every year. He misses games each year, sometimes for long periods of times. Hopefully they can get it right, and it wont be a problem.
  16. How updated is this??? Wheatley seems to have 5 weeks against his name for....well weeks.
  17. REALLY...?? To take a line from a previous AFL advertisement...'Id like to see that'
  18. What and risk serious injury due to the fact that he is chronically under prepared!! I think the above Calabarese put it best when he said...NO!
  19. HAHAHAHA!!!! Nice one YM. Just didn't like the feeling of all the comments regarding your post. You had to throw one in there..
  20. Haha...That is a remarkable post there mate. My knowledge of this game,is that, a team needs to kick goals to boost ones percentage. To do this task, a team must have players who are capable of kicking said goals. Where do you suppose these goals are going to come from? Are people just completely sick of the football already come R3, and are looking to dig their teeth into anyone and vent by making sensationalist comments, or are people genuinely agreeing with the types of posts that have been floating around on this thing.
  21. Performances are getting worse..????????? This time last year we were 0-3 and an accumulated loosing total of 229 points. Now, a much younger side (and with some silly 2nd and 4th qrt fade outs) we are 0-3 ad an accumulated loosing total of 110 points. Dont quite see your logic there. And on a side note, Buckley isnt going to coach Melbourne, I can promise you that.
  22. I would like to congratulate John Meesen, in some what proving me wrong. Thought he actually had a pretty good fame considering his VFL form. 8 disposals, 3 effective tackles, 80% effectiveness (or something) and a couple of good smothers. He has warranted another call up IMO. Why cant we play both Meesen and Spencer and use Johnson as a forward target???
  23. Had to laugh yesterday whilst listening to the SEN coverage. Cant remember who made the comment, however he was saying that 'Melbourne really needs Juicy Newton in the side again. Hes a tall, hard working forward option' Not quite sure if they have seen Newton play before...?
  24. OUT: Colin Silvia Colin, Thanks for your time and little (is any) commitment to the football, or our football club, Sincerely hope that football can lead you to greener pastures and you succeed well into the future... Regards, Melbourne Football Club END THREAD END THREAD
  25. [censored] guys.....isnt it only R3? Pretty sure they were calling for Alister Clarksons head by R3 as well...and maybe even Dean Laidleys. You have to be kidding me? Missed opportunities and poor decisions cost us the game today. Colins free kick and subsequent report in the first 15 minutes are examples of this.
