  1. Watt's could play on the wing, back or forward. Hogan can play back and forward. Having good KP players is only a bonus.
  2. He's not a small forward, Davey is an elite small forward though.
  3. Someone down at Collingwood told me Dawes was a grumpy bloke, he didn't say a bad bloke, actually said he'd be good for our club and would be a good pick up - because he played most of last year with a stiff finger and it affected him, he had no confidence in the injury.
  4. I think we could bring Magner in for Matt Jones. Nothing wrong with Jones, just that he looks like he needs a rest - looked buggered today, freshen him up. Reward Magner with a game, bring in some fresh mids. Bring in Blease, we need some leg speed, not that we struggle entirely with that - just that Blease will add some dash. Kent performed better at AFL level than VFL, it's not silly to think Blease won't do the same. Give the kid a chance, show some faith in Blease, who shown some faith in the club when he would've had decent offers to play elsewhere at the end of 2012.
  5. 2nd first year coach gone in the space of 3 years. There is always a risk in taking first year coaches. The MFC has a good list of players and potential coaches candidates will see that, hopefully we get the next appointment right, because the last 2 we have shanked.
  6. I was critical about the club signing Jamar for 3 years, as A LOT of us were, but the fact of the matter is, Gawn is not quite ready yet, either is Fitz. They aren't big enough, solid enough to handle the number 1 ruck position, especially boundry throw ins - where Jamar often out muscles his opposition rucks. Jamar is giving our mids as good a use as we could ask for, agreed he doesn't do a lot around the ground, but without Jamar, we'd be getting monstered even more than we are. Gawn will still take another year, he'll really threaten next year and in 2015, in Jamars last year, Gawn will be cherry ripe. So, I am not as critical on Jamar anymore and maybe the club was right to sign him to a 3 year deal, because our developing rucks aren't ready.
  7. On another note, every supercoach side in my league had Franklin captain. Idiots!! Short memories as Garland has owned Franklin in the past and Frawley is the best backman in the comp. Frawley got the job and didn't dissapoint, we just can't afford to lose Frawley, pay him what he wants and cut Sylvia is need be.
  8. Potential coaches watching from the outside, surely we will get some quality candidates. We have massive scope for improvement in our list. *Jones is a quality midfielder, he is elite, just needs a supporting cast. *Dawes has shown over the past couple of weeks that he is a leader and more than capable of being a dominate forward. * Mitch Clark is in the stands and is one of the best forwards in that competition, hasn't played a game with Dawes as yet. * Jack Viney has shown that he is the future, currently in the stands, screams elite and will benefit going around this year, be twice as good next year, one would think. * Jesse Hogan, on face value is a Wayne Carey clone, at worst Michael Hurley, will add to the side straight away next year. * Jack Watts, flat track bully in the juniors will only get better as he gets older - as flat track bullies like him and Tom Hawkins do, Watts will be some player in the future. * Dean Kent and Jeremy Howe will only get better, they are freakish players. I could go on, but the gist of it is, we have scope to improve, all the above, along with improvement in decent young players on our list, we are aren't a basket case. We have a great backline, decent forward line - at least we will when Clarks back... We have no midfield, if a new coach comes in and brings an elite midfielder. We will see rapid results.
  9. Best game of a back man I've seen in a long time. For all the supply Hawthorns fowards had, Franklin only had 5 shots on goal and one came off an out on the full where Franklin was just the closest to the ball. For Frawley to beat Richmond and Hawthorns best forwards - the best in the comp, massive effort. Our backline done a decent job today.
  10. Gobsmacked that Dean Kent has been sitting in the VFL. Stepped up today, worked hard and an absolute JET!!! Very impressive Dean, very impressive. Big Chrissy Dawes, ya big beast. Dominating forward, just inspirational. We NEED desperately to get a midfield, shame Trav Boak didn't want to move back home. Need someone like that, good performance today for some players. Rodan tried hard, had 11 tackles.
  11. Neeld has supporters? That is worrying.
  12. An under resourced WAFL club has had no problems making significant improvements in the kid this year. The well cultured clubs of the AFL didn't take the risk because they didn't need to, the Essendons, Geelongs, WC and Freo's don't need to take that risk. MFC on the other hand, needed to take the risk, Garlett would be in our top 5 players. Anyway, I won't be commenting anymore on Garlett, i'll revist this thread when he is tearing it up next year.
  13. Some experts rated him no 2 on talent last year behind only Troy Menzel. I thought that was a fair assessment, of the games I seen in the championships last year, Garlett was super impressive. We were the only club last year who couldn't afford to not take Garlett, it was a no brainer. Even if the kid had of played up this year - worse case scenario - we would of copped no heat for it, because who could blame us for taking the punt? Now we are useless, we have been since 2008, yet someone thinks we are in a position to let top 3 talents slide. Garlett will come out next year, be better than 95% of our list and we will all whinge why we didn't take him. I watched all Lewis Jetta's WAFL year and I rate Garlett the better talent, one thing they have in common is us overlooking both of them.
  14. McCartney comes from the Geelong line, as does Ken. Any assistant coaches from that line make no excuses. Think the Geelong and Sydney line of assistants and there you'll find all the good coaches in the league atm. Hell of a production line.
  15. The city of Casey is a massive growth area, we'd do well to stay there. One of the best areas to grab in Vic, no doubt.
  16. David King predicted 12 months ago the predicament that we would be in today. King has also stuck solid in his assessment on Neeld, which has proven to be absolutely spot on. Personally I can't stand King, but he's been spot on about Melbourne and Neeld.
  17. Probably the smartest midfielder of the modern era and one of the most underrated players to ever play the game. Throw him a guernsey, midfield coach/player.
  18. Pederson is not even a spud, Gillies the worst AFL player I've seen since Thurgood and Rodan has done nothing. But Matt Jones would be in our top 3 best players for the year, the kid is killing it, you're off your head!
  19. Considering he kept Nahas to 7 touches the week before Freo, I'd say it was a bad move to drop him against Freo. But, Neeld knows his stuff, he'd have his reasons.
  20. If we had've tanked, we could blame our poor performance on the dismal culture that tanking left behind. But, luckily we didn't tank I guess and our culture is great, Neeld is god and welcome back Cuddles. I just don't know how they are going to get Cam Schwab back in the fold?
  21. Rodan for sub, give Kent a full game for the supporters sake alone. For those supporters who still watch the great Mark Neeld ply his trade.
  22. What the hell, Magner, why is he is the VFL? We have no midfield, no Viney, no heart and now we got Magner running around in the VFL again. This Casey side would beat our main team and I am not just saying that to take the p*ss.
  23. With a bit of luck, we can sign up Don McLardy now. Get Cam Schwab back SIGN UP NEELD ASAP. We are back now, this is AWESOME!
  24. It's starting to damage our brand which could result in less revenue, sponsors and cash generation all round. Not to mention the ability to retain and attract players. Football is a business now and I don't think we should hold being nice - over what is in the best interests of the club. Lack of onfield success alone points to Neeld not seeing out his contact, why delay this? The longer it goes on, the worse it is for the club. When the club is in free fall and dying, there is no time to be catering graceful exits for underperforming coaches.
