Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
He never used to be.

Who is our next captain?
Viney for two years from the end of 2026. Not that he was much chop at it the first time, doesn't seem like he has the interpersonal or communication skills, but there is nobody else left with anything resembling professional standards that would be up for the job.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Is it the media's fault nobody called Trac's family when he was in the ICU? Is it the media's fault May can't handle his drink? Is it the media's fault that Oliver went AWOL for 18 months? Is it the media's fault that Viney was handed a four year contract because of a rumour that North were interested, despite him still being contracted?

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
The inmates are running the asylum. I understand the willingness to trade both, I agree that Oliver should go for a number of reasons, but they'll both be significantly better at new clubs.

Time to go Goody?
Club is a shambles essentially across the board. We're a world away from where we were. Doubt the board, led as it is by a club legend with no governing experience, has any real idea of what to do next with Goodwin. Or what to do when it comes to hiring the next man up if they do sack him. On Goody himself, we are set for a second consecutive bottom six finish. Just about every young player we have looks like absolute [censored] despite having shown plenty in the past at either AFL (JVR, Windsor) or VFL (Tholstrup, Jefferson) level. Our senior players aren't lifting. He is absolutely tanking his reputation.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
He must be a very difficult personality to manage as coach. His emotion/care-factor/pride are simultaneously huge strengths and weaknesses.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Bailey Laurie the 23 year old VFL player? Almost certainly not. Trent Rivers the 24 year old premiership player who was our best midfielder post-bye last year? Yes. He's a good chance at it.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Yes, watching that game. But that was far and away Petracca's worst game of the season. He looks tired which makes sense given we're due the bye and he lost so much conditioning. Petracca is more explosive, a better kick, a goalscorer, and more versatile. Oliver can do one thing, and he doesn't do it well anymore.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Oliver has to go. Its as simple as that. He is worse than he should be and the team is worse for having him in it.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Same story his whole career. He is at his best when he plays within his limitations.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
"Is that a free kick? I mean, its forearm to the face, but is that a free kick". The butter won't melt attitude to the most fined player in history sickens me.

Harrison Petty
I have never seen a player who gets worse the longer he is in the team. Always looks amazing when he is swung in-game, and then over the next couple of weeks he stinks the place out.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
McDonald was our best defender this season. Came out the minute a Goody favourite managed to get through a half of VFL footy without breaking a bone.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
There is no world where Lever gets dropped. He's a liability, but Goody doesn't care.

Blake Howes Re-Signs Until 2027
He really wasn't bad. A totally acceptable game.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
Adelaide score for fun and have good intercepting defenders. They will snap us in half offensively, and absorb every terrible kick to the hot spot from our three Premiership midfielders.

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
May used to pull that [censored] on Frost and McDonald constantly. Was pulled into line in 2021 when it was actually about being proper teammates. Gawn knew he made the error, he's lost more of these games than anyone, he didn't need May to do that. May had a great game, but stop defending his character.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Mate, you don't mess about with loading when you've started 0-5. There is no room for it. You have to beat teams like St Kilda, however much effort it takes, even if it means you're less of a chance vs Collingwood (a game you're 95% going to lose) the next week.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
So many Dees supporters blindly refuse to see this. They treat him like he's sacred because of his form in 21-22. He's really not become as good as he should have, regardless of the reason. McDonald is a better defender and Turner is currently a better interceptor. Our selection integrity has been a little better this year with dropping JVR and Fritsch, but bringing him back in off a half in the VFL when our defence was humming was a step backwards.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
2 games and 20% outside the eight. Having lost games to North, St Kilda, Essendon already. Collingwood next. Season is dead, even though the club can't admit it. You leave yourself 0 wriggle room for the kind of [censored] we pulled today when you start 0-5, likewise the last quarter against Hawthorn. First time since 2019 we go into QB with our season essentially over.

Maynard unscathed
Maynard is a thug. What that cult thinks of him, and forgive of him, because he plays good football is none of our concern. Move on.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Didn't JT try everything to trade this pick upwards but nobody was biting? That's my memory of it. Pretty clear why too. Super weak draft aside from 5 guys at the pointy end. Even Clark at Geelong, touted as the next Selwood, looks like he may not make it. Tsatas and Phillipou were top 10 picks too and they are on shaky ground. Busslinger at pick 13 has only just debuted for the Dogs. As far as talls go, Gruzewski was a few picks after Jeffo and looks ok, but can't get a game at GWS. Presume he'll be traded. Otherwise Weddle at 18 is the only star player after Jefferson, Darcy Jones is a really good role player in the ANB mould, and then you have Joe Richards way later on was an okay mature ager. Michalaney was F/S so is excluded.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
JVR kicked 5 in the VFL last time out, didn't he? Chandler also isn't a small forward. He's very clearly playing between the arcs.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Game was pretty indicative of where we are. Nowhere near as bad as we looked rds 2-5, but a bit of a shadow of our old self. Relying a lot on a select few guys delivering their role every single week - namely Gawn, McDonald, Melksham, Bowey, Langford, Petracca, Langford, Pickett, Chandler. When any of these guys lower their colours, like TMac in the final quarter today, nobody else seems to step up to replace them. Some real good youth who I have a lot of faith in, but equally a couple of young guys who are tilting towards busts. Jefferson and Tholstrup the obvious candidates, and whilst it breaks my heart to say because he did look good, JVR isn't far away. Out: Fritsch - made Sicily, the guy in the worst form of his career, look unreal. Barely even applied percieved pressure, never mind actual pressure. And I've been a defender of his. Jefferson - absolutely nowhere near it, unfortunately. Tholstrup - I said it when he debuted and I'll say it again - there are no clear strengths to his game. What was Taylor thinking? Hope he comes good, but he has a lot to do. In: Melksham - football smarts Petty - can't believe he's the answer again, but here we are Laurie - deserves another go Oliver for Viney and JVR for Fullarton are both tempting changes too. Fullarton can barely play, but there's something in his and Petty's ability to stay out of eachother's way.

CASEY: Rd 04 vs UWS Giants
Worst team to play against in the VFL when you have no confidence. Those two are starting defenders at most clubs. No need to overreact.
