  1. Can't play ANB and Stretch again this week. Ultimately, their selection - especially both at once - led us to being effectively two down. It wasn't their fault, they're just not ready yet. I can probably cop it if one stays in - preferably Bill - but I'd much rather have bigger bodies in there.
  2. This is the first thing that has made me feel better. We have the chance to erase this in a month and a half. They better bloody do it, and win a few on the way.
  3. Lumumba was the only one yesterday who didn't [censored] around with hospital handballs and gave us some ground with his kicks. I thought it was his best game for the club.
  4. Is it bad that I still feel no better and can't bring myself to read the papers? 40 seconds away from breaking two curses. I'm just sick of other teams lapping us.
  5. Thought the same thing..."good Bruce is in the ruck". This was when I thought we would easily hold it, ala. Adelaide last year. That we would come through. Watch Gawn in the ruck: he never jumps. His only trick is to palm it behind him into space - EVERY SINGLE TIME. Simpletons look at it and think how much it looks like Sandilands' deft-tapwork, I look at it and wonder why he's incapable of taking the contact and actually WINNING the tap. To palm it back into space when he had more than a foot on the other ruck is unforgivable, because you have no idea where that ball is going.
  6. I can only live with it if we go down to Kardinia and give the Cats a bloody big shake. I can't stand another month of plugging away, only to build and play a big game and stuff it up.
  7. Yep, just woken up and struggling to look on any footy sites but this one. Still absolutely devastated.
  8. Great, glad we cleared that up
  9. Jamar averages 30 touches a game this year, and here's a list of the ruckmen he has played against. Zac Smith Shane Mumford Sam Jacobs Ivan Maric Aaron Sandilands In almost all of those games, he rucked alone with a very small amount of help from Frost and Dawes. Yet he ran the games out - no labouring to get to the footy, no balls sailing through his hands, no hesitancy to jump because of his messed up knee. It is revisionism at its finest to suggest that Jamar is finished, and reminds me of 2010 when Junior Mac was done and Jordie McKenzie/Jordan Gysberts had to take his spot.
  10. [censored]'s over on BigFooty (geez, am I glad that I gave up posting on there) saying he was at fault for the loss and that he's the worst player they've ever seen.
  11. 26 touches, 8 tackles and 2 goals is a bare minimum? For a player who was in his first year' a couple of years ago'? You are a [censored].
  12. It was a short quarter, I believe. Hard on the players to know.
  13. Accepting all apologies here if they come quickly. Gawn is great in theory. In reality, he is a heartless lump who can barely run out a half, never jumps or leads, and only has the one trick which is to palm it behind him and hope we get there. You'd never see Jamar refusing to lead, let alone in the third bloody quarter! Get Mark in, now.
  14. Angry and devastated at the same time. Even worse when I saw the AFL headline. Never mind showing a picture of the Saints upset to happy, they have to pick on Toumpas again. Very original.
  15. He had a superb game and has been building to it for a month. He's not a Watts/Morton who needs to be in form to contribute, because he goes in as hard as anyone.
  16. Very encouraging, how Maxy went today, but one swallow doesn't make a summer. If he keeps on chipping away in the VFL and gets some form behind him then maybe, but Stewart is looking very comfortable at AFL level already.
  17. My bro and I agreed when he ran out for his 100th in that belting against Port that he was the worst 100 gamer ever. The turnaround has been stunning.
  18. If you're after a comparison, how about our own James McDonald? From the small amount that I've seen, he seems to share that intangible intelligence and attitude that took Junior the extra mile.
  19. With Patton still pencilled a spot at GWS, how about James Stewart as that resting ruck option? 21 years old, 198cm, can kick a goal.
  20. Good team, looks balanced. Surprised Fitzy comes out considering Garland is gone, but we can get away with two KPD on Roo and Bruce. Hopefully Michie or Riley starts as sub. Get some responsibility on the younger guys' shoulders and see how hungry they are to make an impression.
  21. Would be a good idea to watch them both before you say that. Both butcher the ball from defence sure, but Prince 420 actually runs with it and breaks lines when he's not show boating in front of his old team mates/decides to front up. As you can see, I'm no Lumumba fan; but he's much better than Terlich. And I don't even mind Terlich that much.
  22. Riewoldt will make absolute mince meat out of Dunn or Fitzpatrick if they tried to follow him around. Roo is the perfect match up for McDonald, roaming forward who can be forced wide. He's too good a mark to force a regular spoil out of, unlike a Jeremy Cameron, but TMac will need to get him in the wrong spots.
  23. Garlo's one of my favourites, but were St Kilda playing the resting ruck him being out wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. This is now the third week in a row that clubs who play two rucks opt to go for one against us, and finally we have reacted (forcibly) by taking a tall out of our defence. McDonald on Roo is ideal, and hopefully Dunn can do a job on the in-form Bruce on his 150th. Hoping Vince goes head to head with Armo, old fashioned type of thing rather than a tag. I wouldn't mind Viney following Steven around though, but would also like our mids to play their own game rather than negate a team we need to beat. Hogan needs a big one, and I wonder whether we might tell him that and then give him a double rest against Geelong with the bye coming up.
  24. What a load of [censored]. Who needs enemies when we have supporters like you?
