Roos mentioned last week (Roos views I think) that the club will be doing an audit and review of both coaches and players over this bye period.
IMO this will definitely involve discussing who they want to keep and what value etc. I reckon we'll see some signings happening shortly.

I think the name 'pig dog' is related to playing like a dog thats used for hunting pigs. super aggressive, grunt and pure strength.
I'm really excited to see Pigdog play - Especially when he's in the middle with hardnuts Pitbull (Viney), Jonesy, Crossy and for class Tyson and Vince!

Bump.
Given we're well into the season now and no further contracts have been signed, might want to get a hurry on....
-
We should put him out on the field this weekend. I'll bet his back's fine. He's just chicken if you ask me.
Takes a chook to know a chicken.....
Sorry, couldn't help myself

Great player, just wish he had a better kick on him.

I was shocked Roughhead only got 1 week for his bump - extremely reckless bump IMO.
-
Supposedly Hogan had a couple of weeks off and went home. Does anyone know if he is back in melb yet?
-
Any news on the scan on his foot/toe.

It's fascinating that we have put our best defensive team on the field just as we've moved Frawley forward.
Not saying that Frawley is anything but a top shelf AA defender.
More to point out that teamwork and systems is what improves a team, the individual performances is the cream on top.
I agree Paul, however it helps when the whole team plays defensively and it's not getting bombed in 100 times a game....
Great coaching IMO.

Watts is the artist of football. each game is a lesson. the masterpiece will come.
have faith my dear demonlanders, we have a genius in our ranks. he is not an animal. he is grace, and he will arrive like the spring. like destiny.
he is honing te craft in its essence, without the use of force.
great wines take time.
Please don't mention Wines, Tona.
It might start the whole Toumpas vs Wines debate, again

I think its been a well-known problem for sometime - he just doesn't do enough defensively. I see him as a bit of a selfish player and if you are going to be a selfish player you have to be really good (Stevie J)
"Sam Blease: Sam played wing and half-forward and had 16 possessions. Sam’s focus has been to gain more possessions in the forward half of the ground. He did that the previous week, but was unable to back it up this week. Defensively, he had some major lapses during the game and we know he’s much better than that."
I love what they are doing with the fringe players and the magoos - make them earn their spot and don't get a crack until they learn how to take the game on and defend....
Only wish we started implementing this 6 years ago.

I was thinking about our overall progress the other day....
Keeping Sydney goalless for a qtr, kept them to 9 goals for the game and only lose to them by 31 pts - I'd say that's progress.
Let's be patient, we're in good hands and the ship is being turned slowly.
-
The way he played on the weekend, he'd be too soft to be the orange boy.
-
A number of posters commented on how good his kick is on the training reports....
WOW for a first gamer, he really was impressive.

The bloody foot injury curse strikes again!

Can't knock his effort and attack come match day...
If only he could kick.

First time I've ever got to sing the song at the footy with my 3yo daughter....
A moment I'll never forget. Thank you Dees!

Very frustrating considering the club stated on 18th March - Col Garland (ankle) 2-3 weeks away. Af as I recall we have not been informed of any set back or problems as early as this Tuesday.
Surely we know by now - whatever Misso tells us, double it.

Nice post Goodvibes.
Like us all, my hope that I had at the start of the year has been squashed and it fricken sucks!
However, as I sit here at work (pretending to work), I look around my office and there is the team poster, calendar with Clark on it and the poster of N.Jones - and guess what, they'll stay there for the season and pre season until next years come out.
Although it sucks at the moment, I'm not going to give up on the team. I'll be there Saturday, unfortunately expecting us to lose again, but I'll still be there cheering them on.

The only thing Perth has over Melbourne is its beaches, but he can go over and enjoy those during his summer vacation!
He can have the shark riddled beaches. With your 800k Chip you might want to invest in a good harpoon gun.

Maybe I'm insane but I agree with the OP. I had a look on AFL.com.au today for a preview, and had a read of the stats. With the exceptions of clearances and hit outs (which was skewed by last weeks mauling), we match them in all the key stats. With Dawesy back in and two tall targets to kick to up front, plus Chip showing something last weekend, I'm hoping we can pull it off. Carlton will be expecting an easy win over us, but they're mentally brittle at the moment as well, so if the boys can sock it to them and keep their hands on the footy for long enough, I think they'll get frustrated, sloppy and start to make some mistakes.
Look at who the Blues have played in the first 3 rounds - tiges, bombers and port, all 3 (barring Essendrug) were finalists. Then who we have played....
I think we'll be flogged, again.
-
Haha 800k, tell him he's dreamin!
-
Highly doubt it.
Do yourself a favour UH, don't get your hopes up - like most of us tragics, I've made that mistake way too many times, only for them to be smashed, chewed up and sh@t out.

Hmmm, they've just pulled off a convincing win against the hawks, seriously.......
