  1. It is not just 92 since the previous tally, but 1200 in the last week. If we win on Monday, I expect that we will soar past 45,000 in the coming week and close in on 50,000 for the first time. It is up to the MFC (and all Demonlanders) to capitalise on our current momentum and ensure that we reach this milestone!
  2. We’ll pass the Doggies soon and if the Club gives a massive push, maybe we can all help recruiting members to get to 45,000 by the end of the Queen’s Birthday weekend? Beating Collingwood (and looking like certainties to finish Top Four) should build a nice momentum (to regain what we lost in the early matches)! 50,000 by end July cut-off should be our new realistic target! ??
  3. You need to add: ‘Win four in a row’ ( broken 20\05\2018) and ‘Win five in a row’ (next weekend?)
  4. He developed a group of Premiership players that Beveridge was the beneficiary of!
  5. I am not there [and frankly didn't know about it] however as an East Melbourne resident I was cursing about all the loud speaker announcements blaring out for the last few hours. Suddenly I heard "A Grand Old Flag" [1st verse only] sung with gusto. Now they can make as much noise as they like!
  6. If Port had of had the selection before us they would also have selected (South Australian) Toumpas (leaving us with Wines) as that was clearly the ranking at that stage. Whilst we knew the type of player Wines was, I suspect we envisaged that Toumpas was destined to be Robbie Flower reincarnated and that we had pulled off a coup. Things don’t always turn out as scripted! ?
  7. My brother’s first wife was a Collingwood supporter and his daughter followed Collingwood and his son the Demons. Then Dermott Brererton joined Collingwood (who she hated) and she has been a Melbourne supporter ever since.
  8. My 92yo father came to the football with me, my daughter and my brother and saw a win just before he passed away. He had not renewed his membership because of his mobility problems however the Club still sent him a scarf. He died thinking we might be Premiering contenders this year.
  9. Try Airbnb. You should be able to get $80-100/night close to the “G”!
  10. The paper had North Melbourne recruiting a ruckman 76cm tall and weighing 201kg! Don’t believe everything you read! ?
  11. Today’s Australian did a nice article on him! In fact it is interesting that they selected him to do a feature article on rather than any of the First Round draft picks! ?
  12. Do we have a Rookie pic? I thought that it was only four pics in the main draft.?
  13. As far as I’m concerned, I just want to see them finish above Essendon (& well outside the eight)!
  14. Wrapt for Jack if it works. Gun player if only he had regained his speed. Sorry in a way that the MFC didn’t find a role for him (such as leading the Casey Demons to a Premiership) however having Watts as a teammate should make him pretty happy!?
  15. I see no reason why the MFC can’t facilitate Jack having a major leadership role at Casey, maybe involving a coaching component. Presuming, if he was AFL ineligible, he could retain the same overall salary package (but outside of the cap) and he would certainly be worth the investment both in a AFL/VFL mentoring role and as a VFL player. I am sure that Casey would appreciate entering their 2018 campaign with their 2017 B&F player on their list.
  16. Nice to see such a young bloke steering a $100,000,000.00+ company! Not many people on this planet have achieved that plus an AFL career! ?
  17. Melbourne should pay pick 10 (2017) and our second round (2018) for Lever and no more! Why should we be trying creative packaging to obtain another first round pick, when Lever was: 1) Not in their top 10 B&F; and 2) Scored 1 vote in the Brownlow (same as O. Mac)?
  18. That is a very fair offer for a player who did not figure in the Crows' top ten in their Best and Fairest and who scored one Brownlow vote (same as Oscar McDonald)!
  19. More than fair for a bloke that didn't figure in their top ten in their B&F!
  20. Because 10 and 27 is simple and Watts and Lever are both known qualities and would augment our best 22!
  21. I'd be happy to spend the next five years "on the couch" for half that! ?
  22. It is also highly optimistic (but I like the way you think)!
  23. We possibly don't need Garland if we retain Frost and get Lever. My suggestion was that we retain him 'off the MFC books' and let him continue the role that he has been playing at the Casey Demons!
  24. Surely we would pay out Garland (and then maybe Casey could draft him in a player / development coach role)? I would also be happy to hang on to Frost and maybe throw in a second round pick as a sweetener for Adelaide. No problems with retaining Keilty on the rookie list for a further year.
  25. Frankly, I would rather sacrifice two first rounders and keep Watts (and Frost)! Watts has been here through the bad times and (recent matches aside) was really showing what he was capable of over the last twelve months. Like Hogan, he can be a game-changer when on fire and I would hate to see that happen with Carlton of all teams. i would rather lose pick 12 this year and (optimistically) pick 18 next year and have both Lever and Watts helping us make a serious tilt at the 2018 Premiership!
