Harmes and Dunstan have earned a place and the extra run will help on the short break. JVR had a great last quarter but I think this was helped by Richmond subbing out a ruck and putting Balta into the ruck instead of minding JVR. That is when he cut loose. We are susceptible to teams that bring the ball forward low. Maybe it is time to bring in Turner, there is a spot waiting for Salem when he is ready Spargo is still not right and won't play and Melksham didn't play in the VFL so assume he is in cured. It will be a light week on the track with minimal change

For what it is worth. A youngster at training yesterday asked Richo in front of 200 fans and over the P.A about Kozzie and where would he play. Richo paused and as luck would have it the question coincided with Kozzie entering the ground and he clearly heard the question. He gave Richo and the kid a thumbs up which Richo acknowledged. Theatre or a portent of what he has decided, I don't know but Richo was quick to point out that Kozzie had acknowledged. Richo replied that Kozzie is a much loved player loved by one and all at the club and that Kozzie loves the club.

Someone mentioned the question about Kozzie from the youngster. It happened just as Kozzie was entering the field and clearly heard the question and Gave FRicho the thumbs up which Richo acknowledged. I hope he has decided so we can quickly move on. The session was short and sharp with Max, Hibbo and Lever all spending some time with the fitness team. It is also noteworthy that Van Roo had an enormous knee bandage on one leg. I wonder if he is carrying an injury. Nothing mentioned. I was pleased to see the session finished off with goal kicking drills. The media complain that clubs don't practice goal kicking but all players were having a go. I watched Ollie Sestan as he has a set routine and did not miss any of his dozen or so shots on goal. I was impressed with Cross and S Sheridan. Commentary was that Max went to the Eastern finals last year, noticed Sheridan, and alerted the club to his potential. 192 cm string bean who moves well and knows where the goals are. My son is a North supporter and was watching Fordham who has an AFL body but butchers the ball and makes bad decisions . Not AFL standard in this opinion

According to the club they were reviewing the videos to see if they could find the incident but were unable to identify how and when it happened.

I was fortunate enough years ago to work on an MFC project cataloguing a lot of their vast trove of memorabilia. This was while it was in temporary storage of the sports museum in the depths of the MCG. Many athletes put on loan or bequeath their medals, uniforms or other gear for safe keeping. Pluggers Locket's Brownlow and Coleman medals were in storage , Betty Cuthbert's track suit and even a funny old bike that was ridden to glory for an olympic gold medal reside down there. Many of the old cricket bats are kept in the MCC museum on loan. The owners say they are properly stored and are kept in a safe secure environment. There is o much in storage that isn't on display.

I like that it isn't listed as a practice match but 6 25 minute quarters of match simulation with no time on. What does one make of that? Will there be tackling? I assume 4 umpires and unlimited rotations.

For the AFL to say it didn't impact the Brownlow shows how far off the mark they are. Multiple bets were made based on information released resulting in wins. Stated on the Grundy file that Cooliwood have threatened to keep grundy as they don't like our offer of pick 27. They want our 13! If no Grundy the club must keep Weid.

I wouldn't be trading Weid out yet if the Grundy deal falls through. Of course, Collingwood has waited to see what we get from free and getting greedy. No deal and see how they manage their salary cap and invite Grundy back into the fold after rejecting him. Hold the line, Tim.

As nothing has happened yet I think we can see a pattern developing in the list management team. While not as overt as Geelong my impression is that hit season gone we stuck with the premiership group and developed lots of new talent at Casey. With retirements and Jackson going it looks like the club are resetting and looking to back the young talent we have developed. Clearly, they knew Jacko was going and went after Grundy! JVR is groomed to step up to a key position up forward and other players in the wings are given the option of moving. Maybe didn't see Bedford going but have noise around Hunt, Harmes, Tomlinson & Weid suggest a refresh. The club IMO believes it is in the premiership window and is building for now hence looking at Hunter. At the same time, they are looking to store some draft picks for 2023 with their eye on kids they have been following. A bit of long-term planning happening which isn't entirely obvious to us mere mortals

I hate to say this but I agree with Kennet, first time ever. The club conducted an anonymous survey with some confronting allegations, which weren't fact-checked but accepted as true. To then go to an ABC journalist and tell the story and name coaches who have had no right to reply is wrong. Why now when these events are 9 years old? Is there so much distrust in the survey that those concerned felt the need to go public? If anything, Caro's story re Mitchell suggests that the club was very strict, heavy-handed with its handling of young players. To me that the controlling wasn't racially based but something all new players to the club were subjected to. Culturally insensitive yes but a racist I think not. It is only in recent times especially post Adelaide's camp that an awareness of cultural sensitivities is so detrimental to First Nations players.
