Trade and Free Agency rumours
Hunt provided a contest and run and carry. His pace is something we might need in the next 5-6 weeks. If he can keep his head, I’d be in favour of retaining Hunt. Bowey lost several one on one contests and his usual assured kicking was strangely disappearing. He’s a ripper but time in the VFL was warranted.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Hi PSD. Reuben was in my group at about 23-25 range. He’s a good youngster as a inside mid, already played senior footy and looks like a young leader. Jed Hagan is the other West Australian that I was thinking would be in the mix. But I might be a little gun shy of recommending youngsters from WA right now !!!

Country Zoning
Yes we had Goulburn Valley. We had to convince blokes that lived and worked 3 1/2 hours away. Cats were the luckiest. All their local region naturally was allocated to them as well as down the surf coast to Warrnambool.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It’s all academic for the Dees depending on the Luke Jackson decision. If he stays, I’d imagine we would be relatively quiet and look for bargains or a surprising drifter. But with JT, he’s always got a sparkle in the eye. If we get 2 x 1st rounders from a Jackson trade, then it’s game on for JT. From watching a few of the carnival games here is a rough top 40 … (of course Vic Metro and Vic country still to come ). 1-10. Will Ashcroft. George Wardlaw. Elijah Tsatas. Harry Sheezel. Aaron Cadman. Elijah Hewitt. Jedd Busslinger. Jhye Clark. Mattaes Phillipou. Oliver Hollands. 11-20 Cam Mckenzie. Brayden George. Oli Hotton. Harry Barnett. Mitch Szybkowski. Lewis Hayes. Charlie Clarke. Matthew Jefferson. Isaac Keeler. Alwyn Davey jnr 21-40. Harry Lemmey. Josh Weddle. Billy Dowling. Adam D’Aloia. Jaxon Binns. Noah Long. Reuben Ginbey. Callum Verrell. James Van Es. Henry Hustwaite. Koby Ryan. Jacob Konstanty. Henry Hustwaite. Coby Burgiel. Darcy Edmonds, Josh Weddle. Tom Scully. Lachlan Cowan. Jakob Ryan. Max Michaelanny. I think as an optimistic, I’d like to see the Dees grab Finn Emile-Brennan as a NGA player. Hope he sits under the radar in the last 5-6 weeks of the year. Two players that could be interesting to see where they land are Taj Campbell-Farrell at the stingrays (currently injured unfortunately, but who plays like Clayton Oliver ) and Harvey Pedler from SA, a Rostrevor College lad who is strong at the footy, loves a goal and reminds me of Tom Sparrow.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yes but he can’t just walk to Freo. He’s not an unrestricted free agent. Deals have to done if he wants to go to a certain club. Trade deals. He could go into the preseason draft and have a depressing time at the Kangas or Eagles !!

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Whoever plays out of ANB, Sparrow or Harmesy, they (as well as Kozzy and Spargo) BETTER DEFEND AND CONTROL Daicos, Crisp and Maynard. They destroyed us last time with their run and carry out of defence!!!
-
CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
BBB if fit. Weid out. But who makes way for Harmes?? Did Jackson pass or fail the concussion test??
-
2022 List and Contract Details
Hibbo and Melksham could now be looking at being on board in 2023 Jackson ?? 🤞 Baker - probably delisted (or trade to Suns/Lions for “a 4th rd pick”) Joel Smith ?? Might request trade Weid ?? 🚀 Rosman might get shifted to the rookie list to create the 3rd spot
-
CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Who missed? Harmes Tmcd BBB D.Smith Mcvee Rosman (Daw)

Farewell Luke Jackson
By compensated, I assume you mean “we negotiate a strong deal”. No 3 draftee. 3 years in. Premiership player. Young agile ruck. Unicorn. That’s worth a war chest !!
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
Exactly … there are plenty of players that play “in another state”. Absolutely heaps to be honest. Sure sometimes personal matters mean players want to go home but I’m not necessarily hearing that with this Jackson situation. Clubs like Freo see him as the “unicorn” player that can be swayed with a wheelbarrow of money.

NON-MFC: Round 20, 2022
Swans are very impressive Pace and skill Plenty of goalkickers Franklin very very dangerous 20 tackles in fwd 50 Don’t want them in the top 4
-
NON-MFC: Round 20, 2022
Giants. WTF. No heart. Kill off the experiment now. Western Sydney is rugby league. Players are looking like they’d rather be at other clubs. 🤮🤮🤮🤮 Send them to Tassie as the “Tassie Tall Timber Giants” 🤣🤣🤡🤣🤣

NON-MFC: Round 20, 2022
Pies have the run and carry game to worry us. Not afraid to take it through the corridor. Missing Grundy and Mihocek from this team. They’d be likely inclusions next week.
-
POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Agree WE GOT INTO FREO’S HEAD Teams have beaten us if they play with dare and run. It seems easy to say but it’s often harder to do. The Pies will bring the run. Daicos and Crisp and Pendlebury won’t be scared. Another point to note still. But we need to do more than defend. 60 inside “50s” and 12 goals. We need to get better ourselves in attack. Yes we have a gun defence. A lack of a key forward will be a worry. No Franklin. No Hawkins/Cameron. Not a Mihocek. FFS not even a Daniher. We need a fit BBB at least.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Wow. I had Hibbo marked as a retirement at end of 2022. But he’s got life back into the old dog. His composure and decision making was right on last night. He might still retire but might even get an extension into 2023. 🤔

Farewell Sam Weideman
I watched my daughters under 11 netball and saw some of Sam in the girls. Some were lost and ran around. They tried but ultimately didn’t have the right intensity or positioning to get the ball. I’d like to understand Sam’s mindset right now. Does he really desperately want it ? Really want? Really push himself physically to the edge. He was a talented young sports star who rose on talent and his physical height. But now in the AFL it demands more. Perhaps the coaching and development has been poor. Not sure Stafford is the man for our forward line coaching.
-
CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Grouse. Yes he’s not like most skilled left footers. Kicking is high up and under and like bombs to forwards. Where’s the penetration and sharp padding. Young was so much more dangerous and sharp. Salems courage though was unquestionable and still he’s a key player for September.
-
CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Ins. Harmes and BBB (if fit) outs. Weid. ANB ANB ran where the ball wasn’t and fumbled on 3-4 occasions that were chances to advance to goal. Disappointing. His tackling was satisfactory. If there is a squeeze, then Sparrow, Melksham and Spargo stay in.
