Yes I agree. probably be pick 13, F1, F2 (freo) for Jackson, F3 (essendon). needed for a top 6-7 pick at very least as well as Freo future 1st … dockers were poor in not trading up But imv I think we’re getting screwed for a Ruck/mid/fwd, 21yo, Generational player, rising star winner and premiership player.

Lloyd is only saying what’s been on Demonland for past 3-4 years. Captain Obvious at work !!! I do agree that it’s a free swing for the Dons. A future 3rd round pick which is usually in the 40s is a free swing for a player like the Weid. THE AGE As Michael Gleeson reported, Melbourne are poised to trade Sam Weideman to Essendon in a move that could unlock a series of other trades, starting with Luke Jackson to the Dockers. But Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has some concerns about the forward who has been on the fringes at the Demons for several seasons. I suppose if you’re getting him for not much, there’s nothing to lose,” Lloyd told Trade Radio. “He’s got to get more competitive. He’s got to get nastier. If he doesn’t take the mark, he’s a bit poor at ground level. He rucked in the grand final at VFL level, he fought pretty hard in wet conditions, but then when he comes up to the AFL level he just really lacks confidence. “That may be because he’s always in and out. He’s got talent, but he hasn’t had the fight at AFL level to prosper consistently.”

outs 1. Confirmed : Hunt - free agent to West Coast 2. Sure bet: Jackson - trade to Freo or WCE 3. Nearly there: Bedford - trade to GWS for likely 3rd round pick 4. Possibly: Tomlinson to the Dogs, Weideman to the Bombers 5. Fire put out - Harmes to the Bombers ins 1. Grundy - definitely be a Demon in 2023 (strange but true) … debating draft picks 2. Smoke : Josh Bruce, Lachie Hunter

Definitely be a handy addition and at a potential pick 30-40, he presents as a good option. Not sure we are going to get a pick in the 2nd round as I think pick 27 will go to the Pies for Grundy.

So is the “Josh Bruce - Adam Tomlinson” trade deal just smoke? Hope it’s just that and fades away. As most know, I don’t rate Josh Bruce as a good addition.

So much potential. But Sam never quite showed the consistency to keep his place. 2018 finals was the taste of what we wanted to see. But he was too physically pushed aside or got under the marking contest. In the end, a Future 3rd pick is like a side of French fries Honestly could not meet a nicer guy than Sam. He was very good at social events and with my kids. Wish him the best. Ben Gibson is going to be gutted.

Yes it seems it’s just rhetorical words.

ESPN FOOTY VIEW Melbourne List needs: Classy midfielder/forward who can pass precisely to inside 50m targets Ruck depth Outside run and speed Who should they target? The major missing link for Melbourne is a classy midfielder/forward who can hit inside 50 targets reliably. 2021 Sandover Medallist, Bailey Rogerswould fill the role perfectly with his versatility to play midfield and forward and his classy skills, strong marking and ball winning capabilities a bonus. With Carlton midfielder Will Setterfield in and out of Carlton's best-22, he may be someone Melbourne could make enquiries into as a further classy midfielder who could add improved balance to the Demons midfield. While Brodie Grundy has been heavily rumoured to be joining Melbourne, the Demons should be demanding Rory Lobb as part of any deal for Luke Jackson. While Lobb has requested a trade to Western Bulldogs, Melbourne arguably need Lobb more, not just as a ruck, but as a contested marking force close to goal and someone who does not relegate Gawn to spending most of his time forward. What makes the Lobb fit so ideal is that he is ideally suited to a relieving ruck role behind Gawn and gives the Demons the option if Gawn misses games at some point to take over as Melbourne's lead ruck. While Bradley Hill has been linked to North Melbourne, the wide-open expanses of the MCG would suit Hill much better as it did during his tenure with Hawthorn. With Melbourne a team featuring prolific ball winners, Hill for the Demons would need to do nothing more than just be himself which makes Melbourne his ideal landing spot.

Adam Tomlinson on the move?
spirit of norm smith replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not for a very very long time Could rival the recruitment of Tom Gillies -
He’s played 3 games and 5 games in the last two years Let me think about Josh Bruce as potentially our new KPF

This is it, no more trades’: Bruce done with stress of moving clubs By Ronny Lerner October 17, 2019 — 1.03pm New Bulldog Josh Bruce was “relieved and excited” to have made it to his third club in eight years, but the key forward hopes he won’t have to endure the stress and uncertainty of trade period ever again.

Adam Tomlinson on the move?
spirit of norm smith replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tomlinson is a very good backup to May and Petty. I know it’s an expensive plan B but goodie’s got to live with his recruitment decision. Tomlinson played good footy as a key defender/key forward and never really as the “wingman” that we were told he would become. I’d definitely see how Tomlinson goes at a key forward or try Petty forward with Tomlinson to slot in down back. -
Surely we give Bedford and pick 27 for GWS Pick 19.
